Ronda Roussy destroyed the very brave Misha Tate and Anderson broke his leg in the second round

Ronda Roussy came into UFC 168 undefeated 7-0 in MMA and she did not let the other stuff over the year with two movies and then the ultimate fighter against Misha Tate and the stuff she mentally took from Misha and came into octagon and just took it to Misha. Ronda took Misha down time after time and pounded on her head and blooded her and that was only the first round and worked on Misha left arm but in the end Misha was able to be the first lady to get the first round and take Ronda into a second round. In the second round the crowd chanted Misha and Ronda took Misha to the ground and tried to get a hold of Misha's left arm bur Misha put her in a little bit of trouble and Ronda fought out and got stunned by kicks from Misha. Ronda took Misha down again to recover and when she recovered she found Misha's left arm and put it into an arm lock but Misha was able to get out of it and ended up taken Ronda to a third eound. In the third round Ronda got Misha to the ground and found her left arm again and finally finished her off to retain her UFC championship and go 8-0 and after tapping out Misha was up on her feet first and had her hand out to Ronda who got up and walked away. Ronda was booed after not accepting the hand and she said she respected Misha as a fighter but she disrespected her family and she did not respect her as a person. That was a side note as Anderson Sliva in the second round broke his leg as he kicked Chris Widemen and he blocked it and Anderson immediately went down and it was called and it maybe the end of Sliva career and is not the way to go out. Chris Widemen dominated Sliva in the first round Tom Mehegan

NHL makes good with Wayne Gretzky

Wayne Gretzky has been as far away from the NHL sport light as possible as he has been owed millions of dollars from his time with the Phoenix Coyotes and has been very empty in the NHL without the great one. But now the league has come to their senses as the richer owners ponied up the money to settle the Great Ones beef and it will open up the door for him to become the spokesman of the NHL again and it will make it a happier in the NHL and after last week when they got a Canadian TV contract that had a price tag of 5.2 billion dollars (thank you Rogers Communications). The Great ones future in the NHL looks promising with the likes of the LA Kings, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, or the Toronto Maple Leafs will to hire as like a consultant or assistant GM to be able to use his hockey knowledge and be able to put him as the face of their franchise. So this is the likelihood of where he will land: 1. LA - LA loves stars and will eat Gretzky all up and it will be a huge win fall in tickets and it will keep the Kings in people's mind which is really hard to do. It will also get companies to buy into the Kings which will help their bottom and getting Celebrity's back into the Staples Center for Ice Hockey will not hurt either and he lives there. 2. Edmonton - Going back to where it all began would diffidently be a huge story and it will help the fans disappointment if the team does not make the playoffs. Also he can keep the momentum of getting a new area in three years and he can put one of those first shovels in the ground in March to start the construction of the brand new Rogers Arena (rogers communication just bought the naming rights), 3. Toronto - He has always wanted to come home to Bradford, Ontario and Toronto is somewhat close and they were some what in the trade talks before he was dealt to LA and he was willing to play for the Leafs for only a mil in 1996 and it did not happen and he retired as a Ranger instead of a Leaf. MLSE if they get this opportunity they would not pass up the pub that Gretzky would bring and the city would lose their mind and he already has a restaurant near the ACC. 4. New York - It is the last professional team he played for and just like in LA they are still fighting to be relevant in a huge media market with lots of distractions to lose their audience too and the Great One would keep the Rangers in the headlines. It is a great day for hockey fans everywhere Tom Mehegan

Grey Cup 101 - Saskatchewan Roughriders win fourth Grey Cup

The 101 Grey Cup for the most part was no contest as the Saskatchewan Roughriders behind their 3D offense but a whooping on the Hamilton Ti-Cats to the tune of 45-23. First it is all about the running game that was controlled by Corey Sheets who put up 128 yards on the ground including a heads up 39 yard run after he catch a ball on the fly when Darian Durant coughed it after being hit and by the end of the game he had set a Grey Cup record with 197 yards on the ground on 20 carries. The second is the pass game lead by Darian Durant who went 17 of 24 for 245 yards and 3 TDs to put up 8 TDs in the 2013 while not given up an interception and it was Geroy Simon who catch his first 2 Grey Cup TDs (in his third appearance) and Chris Getzlaf was named Canadian MVP with 3 catches for 78 yards. The third is the kickoff team that stuff every attempt by the Cats on punts who got a 26-yard return by Brandon Banks but only had 7 yards on his other and kickoffs he got 37 yard return but only averaged 20 yards on his other 6 returns which put the D in position to put HENRY under pressure to hold him to 273 43 pass attempts (completing 20) and he had the only run that mattered a 18 yard TD run that made it closer at 31-13. The turning was a fourth quarter punt by Ricky Schmitt that gave the Roughrider a second life up 31-16 when Luke Tasker (who's father Steve was in four Super bowls with the Bills) fell into Schmitt for a roughing the kicker penalty that the Roughriders turned into a four-yard TD run by Corey Sheets. It was setup by a Durant 30-yard pass to the Roughriders leading receiver Weston Dressler (81 yards on 5 catches) to start the celebration up 38-16 with 5 minutes left. Weston finished off the scoring hooking up in the back of the end zone with 26-yard TD throw from Durant. I know it has been 15 seasons for homeless Ti-Cats (they get their home back next season) but if a team or fan base a second Championship in the last 7 seasons it would be the Saskatchewan Roughriders who have travelled to the Grey Cups no matter if the Riders are in it and make it event. Also have a third Grey Cup hold in Regina is amazing and they put on a great party for the country and what better to win by put that snub Kent Austin just put out his hands up in frustration when he could not find Corey Champlain after the game and after a 45-minute post game the announcers were like nothing from the Ti-cats yet. 77TH Grey Cup Saskatchewan Roughriders Vs Hamilton Ti-Cats

In 1989 the first championship was awarded at the then Skydome (now Rogers Centre) as the Saskatchewan Roughriders went blow for blow with Hamilton Ti-Cats in the 77TH version of the Grey Cup and is regarded as the best Grey Cup in the first 100 versions of the Grey Cup. The heavily favoured Ti-Cats behind a Mike Kerrigan TD pass to Tom Champion and two Paul Osbaldiston field goals to put the Ti-Cats up 13-1 after the first quarter with a single by Dave Ridgeway. The second quarter was much different as the Roughriders Kent Austin and Mike Kerrigan went blow for blow with each other starting with Austin hooking up with Ray Elgaard for a touchdown and then Kerrigan hooked up with Derrick McAdoo for a touchdown. Which was followed by Austin hooking up with Jeff Fairholm for a huge 75 yard catch and run touchdown and then Kerrigan hooked up with Derrick McAdoo for another touchdown and second quarter fireworks show finished with Austin hooking up with Donald Narcisse to put the Ti-Cats only up 27-22 after 35 points scored in the second quarter but it could of been closer but Ridgeway missed a late 50-yard field goal. The Second half had a few less fireworks and the third quarter belonged to the Riders as they outscored the Cats 12-3 with help from another Austin touchdown this time to Tim McCray while Ridgeway hit his first of four field goals and Paul Osbaldiston gave up a safety but also kicked the three ti-cats points with a field goal and the Rider were up 34-30 after three quarters. The fourth quarter started with both Ridgeway and Osbaldiston both kicked a field goal and then Ridgeway kicked his third field goal to put up the Riders by a touchdown (40-33) and it would stay that way til 44 seconds left in the game when Mike Kerrigan hooked up with Tom Champion who made diving backwards catch to tie it up @ 40. It felt like another heartbreaking Grey Cup appearance for the Riders but Kent Austin and his arm completed 3 passes for 48 yards to put Riderville on the Ti_cats 26 yard line and it was up to Bob Poley to snap the ball into Glen Suitor's hands so he could it down for David Ridgeway to kick a 35-yard field goal and it worked perfectly and he kicked his fourth field goal to give the Province of Saskatchewan their second Grey Cup 43-40. Dave Ridgeway won the most outstanding Canadian and go into the Roughriders lure for his kick that snapped a drought of 23 years and Kent Austin was the Grey Cup MVP and came back to coach the Roughriders to their third Grey Cup and is very we;; decorated outside Mosaic Stadium. It is a passion that burns inside Riderville (go Riders) Tom Mehegan

60TH Grey Cup Saskatchewan Roughriders Vs Hamilton Ti-Cats

60Th Gray Cup was played at Ivor Wynne Stadium between the Saskatchewan Roughriders who faced the hometown squad the Hamilton Ti-Cats and the game was tied @ 10 @ halftime and it was still tied @ 10 with two minutes left in the game. Just like almost every other time for the Riders and their passionate fans it was Riderville that fell apart as Chuck Ealey found Hall of Famer Tony Gabriel three straight time to move down the field from their own 15 to the Riders 41 yard line after not being targeted the first 58 minutes of the game. On the last play of the game Ian Sunter kicked a 34-yard winning field goal and was named the Canadian MVP of the 60TH Grey Cup and Chuck Ealey who had 291 yards and was 18 of 29 with a TD and two interceptions and was named Grey Cup MVP in a Ti-Cats 13-10 victory to be the first team to be able to win a cup on their home turf. Ron Lancaster for the Saskatchewan Roughriders went 20 of 29 for 239 yards with a TD and two interception while Riders running back George Reed had 93 yards on the ground. This Grey Cup was in the middle of 11 straight Western Final for the Roughriders between 1966 (Green Riders first ever Grey Cup victory) to 1976 when Tony Gabriel (then when with the Black Riders) on the last minute of the game scored a TD from Tom Clements to win the 64TH Grey Cups 23-20. It was just another heartbreaking lose for the beloved Roughriders Tom Mehegan

GSP walking away after UFC 20 anniversary

George Rush St. Pierre after the fight of his career against Jonny Big Rig Hendricks as Hendricks just throw down standing landing huge blows that rocked GSP and when he got GSP down to the ground and pounding away at him and after getting a spilt decision GSP after the decision told Joe Rogan that he had things he had to straighten out away from Octagon and would be taken time off away from the UFC but would not explain if it was a retirement. But at 32 years old he will likely be back if he does not need to fight Rory McDonald as he will not fight him as they are teammates because is still young enough to take a year off he will still be in the prime off his career. Rory McDonald lost a spilt decision to Robbie Lawler as he was unwilling when he got Lawler to the ground to do anything until the last 15 seconds of the match and it was too late. GSP/Hendricks spilt decision came down to the very first round of the match which to judges gave to GSP and one to Hendricks and it looked to me that Hendricks controlled most of the round to be awarded the first round. Dana White himself called out the Las Vegas fighting commission to look into their judges because in his opinion he felt that there was no way that GSP won the fight. Also someone has put a youtube video up of Hendricks tapping in the first round of the match when GSP had him in a choke but it is the internet and very tech savvy people can master a video for almost anything and if the announcers don't see it it probably does not happen but who knows. So coming out of this night if GSP is walking away then Hendricks will be given a new opponent to take on in early to mid-2014 to crown an interim champ til GSP comes back. If Dana get GSP back sooner then it will be a rematch between Hendricks and GSP that would bring in a huge Pay-Per-View buy and make both very rich gentleman. It will be interesting Tom Mehegan

Ted Nolan back in Buffalo and is going to raise hell

Ted Nolan who had two seasons behind the Sabres bench in the '95-'96 and '96-'97 seasons when he was named NHL coach of the year in 1997 but his fall out with Hart and Vezina Trophies winner Dominik Hasek in the playoff and was sent packing. Laid low for a decade until he landed on the Island with the Islanders taken them to the playoff in the '06-'07 season and had the same identical record in 96-97 and 06-07 with a record of 40-30-12. 5 years after his last time behind a NHL bench he will take over a team 1-8-1 at home after winning a shootout competition to pick up their first victory at home and an overall league worst 4-15-1 record and he will bring in his tough noise approach will shake up things in Buffalo and they will leave everything on the ice or they will be sitting in the press box. So they will be playing harder and will pick-up more victories and with his shelve is not going to be very long as his tough noise approach is not long lasting but will be successful short-term as interim head coach and maybe then full-time head coach. Along with Nolan the Sabres bring back one of the famous players in franchise history Pat Lafontaine has comeback after his career ended prematurely in 1998 when he was with the New York Rangers thanks to concussions and since than has dabbled in the front office with the Islanders for 6 weeks and the Rangers TV broadcasts since 2010 will now be the team president of hockey operations. His first assignment will be figure out to get the elevator working so long time announcer Rick Jeanneret does not have to be in-between the benches calling the play-by-play with a hockey helmet on during last night victory over the Kings were the Kings forward Jordan Nolan paid a visit as he body checked into him and said hi but did not give the scoop that his dad would be the next coach of the Sabres. After that he will be looking to help find the next GM of the team as Darcy Regier who was finally fired as GM as the last 90's and early turn of the century is a long time ago. The new GM when found will have a very important job to do as he will need to figure out the trade market for Ryan Miller who has worn out his welcome in Buffalo and is an unrestricted free agent and get as much as possible for him except he has no trade clause as he can say that he will not play for 8 teams. Miller maybe to the Flyers (I hear they have been looking for a goalie for 25 years( Tom Mehegan

wwe's hell in a cell 2013 the good, the bad, ugly, they did what, and a guarantee for tomorrow

Hell in the cell was entertaining for the most part but how the ending of the night does not kill PPV buys is beyond me but here the good, the bad, the ugly, and they did what of the night. THE GOOD: Big E got to talk and got a strong push as he went up against Deam Ambrose for the united states belt after Curtis Axel was scraped as Big E opponent because of injury so Big E got the victory be of count out and was very strong in the ring. Roades family keep titles but the cracks are there as Gold dust had no Cody for a tag as he was knocked of the apron and then when he got to the usos they had been knocked off. Bob Backlund after what looks like hit the showers with his shirt was backstage and ran into Prime time players and said that video games are ruining todays youth as PTP were playing wwe '14 (out Tuesday) and they all end up doing the millions of dollars chant together with Backlund in the middle. AJ killed off Brie Bella and hopefully it is Nats turn as she is as awesome in the ring as AJ is in character and I would be stunned if she has one a title in the WWE which would be shame to the greatest degree. THE BAD: Nat was pinned by Summer Rae and that is a sad fact that a real wrestler gets No. 2 dumped on her all the time and it makes me very, very sad. Also bad was not that Cena beat Del Rio but after he did Del Rio just sat outside of the ring on his butt with the ref looking at John Cena instead of beat the crap out of Cena so Damien Sandow (he wasbwatching in the back) could come down and become the intelligent champion of the world. The Ugly: simply put Kaitlyn there is something she worse at than wrestling and that is talking so the WWE has her on the panel and she can not put together a thoughts together and is simply horrible. The way they handle the Paul Heyman/CM Punk situation was mind blowing because CM Punk killed Heyman he is gone and this story of gone a bit longer if they put Heyman's guys over but instead he buried Reyback and as Paul Heyman was lifted to the top of the cage and watched the match and after Punk and kendo go to get him and Paul is introduced to kendo over and over again and when he was supposed to be GTS through the cage the cage no sells it. They did what: they left everybody booing at the end of the night they had Orton going over Bryant and u have both the guys that people wanted to win come up short and it may kill the Bryant angle just like Sandow and his briefcase are dying a horrible death. If it is true that Bryant will win the Rumble his steam will run out before he wins at WM 30 and it sadly leave it flat at the end and he will likely not have the proper run that he deserves. A Guarantee: Vince is back tomorrow and will probably setup a Trips team vs Vince team at Survivor Series Tom Mehegan

Anthony Cavillo will he come back for a final season or will he walk off into the sunset with head held high

Anthony Cavillo who is head and tails above another quarterback in the history of football when it comes to passing yards (79,816) and he kept the Alouettes as the best team in the Eastern conference division of the Canada Football league has big question to answer this off-season does he have it in him to do this one more time or will he walk away with no regrets. The true is until 2009 Cavillo had only one knock against him and that was he could not win the (grey) cup and back-to-back cups in '09 and '10 both against the Saskatchewan Roughriders cemented his legacy and he really now has nothing to work for as he does have 3 (grey cup) rings which also includes a grey cup MVP from his first ring in 2002. He has been named Eastern division most outstanding player (best player in the division) 6 times and out of those 6 times he was CFL most outstanding player (best in the league) 3 times. He has also named to the CFL all-star team 4 times and kept the team in Montreal that has to be a winning organization to be a winning franchise on the winning path as the only two seasons they have been under 500 at the end of the season since 2000 are 2007 when he left the team after 13 games to take care of his wife ill and in 2013 when concussed by Ricky Folley of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in game 7 of the season. If he does comeback he will one - he will be confident in his own skin (no more concussion problems) because he has bigger view on life after helping his wife Alexia with her recovery of her illness; two - he may want that 80,000 yards mark he is only 184 yards away from that and if he did not have a recent set back from his concussion he would of gotten in the Alouettes last regular season game in 2013 in Toronto against the Argos and then been ready for another playoff run; third - just like Mariano Rivera he just does not a injury ending his career so he will come back for one more season with the Alouttes to make things right and leave on a better note; So Cavillo will make the best decision for him and his family and I will agree with which one he makes and it will have nothing about money because he has made a few million dollars Tom Mehegan

CFL needs to get on board with Sportsnet to grow bigger and stronger throughout the league

The CFL TV ratings are getting stronger and stronger over season after season and the players are laughing all the way to the bank with the salary cap strong at 4.4 million in 2013. The top stars especially quarterbacks who usually ranged from 400,000 to 600,000 while other stars make 150,000 to 200,000 a season like Jon Cornish or Corey Sheets at running backs or Chad Owens or Fred Stamps at wide receiver while on D guys like Chip Cox or Charleston Hughes so they are not getting NFL money and would jump at a NFL tryout but it is better than it has been in the past as it was 4.05 million salary cap back in 2007. It is always a strong league when the heart and solo of the league the Saskatchewan Roughriders are going well but the likes who the Toronto Argos, Hamilton Ticats, and BC Lions will be drowning in red ink each and every season. So to help the weak franchises the CFL will be wise to go outside of the TSN universe by separating the East division and the West division just like the NFL has CBS doing the AFC and Fox doing the NFC as it brings in more money than if it was all on one station. So the CFL should open up the West Division to all bidders to bring the most money and whoever does not get the very rich West division with higher ratings (Saskatchewan, Calgary, Edmonton, and soon to be Winnipeg) they can get the poor ratings of the Eastern Division (Toronto and Hamilton i.e. southern Ontario does not want the CFL and are hoping for the NFL coming to town). They separate the division more money coming which would cover more of the losses of the Argos, Ticats, and Lions build every season so that BC or Toronto host Grey Cups like every time I.E. BC will host the 2014 Grey Cup which means that Toronto or BC will host the big game 3 of the last 4 seasons. The TV rights would go like this if a West team plays an East Team than the road team broadcasters broadcast the game which would give the Eastern broadcaster for 4 high rated games (Saskatchewan, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg) for each team with the Ottawa RedBlacks coming back into the league which would be a tempting bone to chew on. If they do not go with the duel broadcasters it will be up to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Calgary Stampede, and Edmonton Eskimos paying the bills for the bigger cities but sadly I think that it is unlikely that it happens and TSN will be the solo TV broadcaster for the great Canadian football league going forward. I would love a balance league with a 10 team league with maritime team so that it is not a 9 team league and teams play 3 games in two weeks Tom Mehegan

Megan Nicole rocks Toronto

The 21 year-old bad boy records label singing sensation Megan Nicole picked it up and put it down at the Phoenix concert theatre to a packed house and was the same bubbly girl as she has been on youtube for years. She started with glad you came and finished with Starship with great versions of her originals B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l and summer forever and mixed in a sing-along of her first cover ever Justin Bieber's Baby. She also added in other originals like earthquake and being 16 and the crowd was more there for Boyce Avenue. By the end of the night the official count was a couple short of a thousand people in the packaged theatre and the late comers all need ids as the licensed as the all ages area was completed packaged but people arriving late were less than the people running out of the Boyce Avenue performance as it sounded like it was too loud including for a pre-teen girl. The show I saw which was the open act from Wisconsin and the wonderful talented Megan Nicole were both very good and the staff at the Phoenix were very helpful and professional even if they had no clue about the youtube sensations. Megan Nicole is try out new original music so her debut album from Bad Boy Records will bot be far away and I can not wait Tom Mehegan

Roades family give the Shield a taste of their own justice

The crowd was very hot for the Roades family as they took on the shield and they took everything from the Shield and both Cody and Dustin (Goldust) had to battle to get to their corner to tag each other in. Dusty was Dusty and took off his belt early when everybody was outside the ring and took swings at Dean Ambrose and at the end of the match Dusty sent Ambrose up the ramp as he attacked him with the big belt. As this was going on Reigns went up behind Dusty but Dustin took him out and it was Rollins and Cody and Cody got the crossroads on Rollins for the victory and the match of the night as Bryant and Orton was a no contest as Show knocked them both of them out and left them there. Roades family celebrated at the top of the ramp with the guys in the back and this is the only was that the could of ended as if the Roades family needed the victory and it was clean and that is perfect. So going forward loo forward for Dustin to turn on father and brother as they did mention that Dad was always around for Cody activities and because Dustin is 16 years older dad was always on the road and missed all of Dustin activities and Dustin will resent them because dad was never there for him and brother was given a silver spoon that he never got. Also the Shield will need to be put over huge as they are losing a lot of their shine and need to get back to their dominating ways Tom Mehegan

Ben Johnson and Soul Olympics 25 aniversary

September 24Th,1988 the Canadian Olympic runner Ben Johnson ran away in a 100 meter dash with the gold medal in a world record of 9.79 and could of gone even faster if he did not raise his hands in celebration before crossing the finish line and Canada erupted in a huge celebration and it was the highest of highs. Then came the lowest of the low on September 27Th when the disgraced Jamaican Olympic runner Ben Johnson was striped of his world record that would not be matched for a decade and he had his gold medal taken away. So Canada eat up Big Ben and spit him out and he struggled to get back to living him life which included racing horses and getting back to racing and getting caught once again and finally actually got a cheetah energy drink endorsement. He was pulled in front of a Dubin inquiry with Charles Dubin,Ontario Appeal Court Chief Justice and got mud thrown at him and he was disgraced on national TV and Canadian eat him up and spit him out and disowned him which no other country would do and in the end it was dirtiest race in Olympic race with 7 of the 8 runners in the Olympic 100 meter final. The guy who was given Big Ben's medal Carl Lewis was caught doping at the US Olympic trails before heading Soul, Korean but it was never announced and he was never suspended and only came clean in Sports Illustrated Ben Johnson positive test was also end of Canadians innocence as Canadians would never look at a sports athlete or Olympic athlete the same again even if they can pee cleanly into a bottle the question in the back of their mind are they actually competing cleanly. It is also very interesting that nobody of Ben Johnson has not been caught doping before or after Soul and not Donavan Baily who won the 1996 Atlanta Olympic won the gold medal in the 100 meter dash and it was just not the same as it was only 8 years earlier. Still to this day the 100 meter dash is still won of the dirtiest sporting events where I would not be surprised if everybody in the semi-finals (the top 16 is doping) and the clean has just made it that much easier to cheat and they can dope even closer to their competitions as they used to have to wait two or three month and now its overnight its out of the body. Ben Johnson in the end was miss treated by Canada and is owed an apology so I sorry it was so hard to live your life after Soul, Korean Tom Mehegan

Paul Heyman out smarts Punk again

The night started with Trips in the ring and he started telling what a great night he had put together and then Heyman came down to the ring with Curtis Axel and tried to get himself out of the handicap match and Trips asked if he is confident in Axel and Axel opened his mouth and said that Trips was made that he lost to him in his first Raw match and Trips said he was going to the back and the first guy he found would come out and face Axel and the boom boom boom (Kingston) came down to the ring. So it looked like Punk was about kill Heyman after he took every single kendo stick shot to his head and body from Curtis Axel and finally he got his anaconda device on Axel and he kept it on long after Axel tapped so that he was writing out of the story. Which left Punk looking at the unkempt Heyman who had not shaven since Tuesday and just was not himself and Punk dragged him into the ring and handcuffed behind his back and immediately tried to tap and tried to use his feet to tap out and end the hurt but did not listen and Punk to continue attacking with a kendo stick. This continued until Punk put the kendo stick to totally kill Heyman but Ryback came into the ring and speared Punk and then gave him the shell shock and then lazily dragged Heyman on top of Punk for the three count and then he carried Heyman to the back. This is not unexpected as it looked like the storyline needed a new person and Axel was likely killed off but he did start the night with s huge battle with Kofi Kingston and did get the victory and kept his Intercontinental title so he will lose it tomorrow and will disappear. Then there is Ryback who has been lost without a storyline since the story of him and Cena ran it course and he needed a mouth piece and Heyman is the best mouth in the WWE and Heyman needs a muscle man to do his dirty work and Ryback is a more hated guy than Axel is. Reyback will still hear the Goldberg chant but that is way different than the crickets that can be heard when Axel is in the ring. The crowd in Detroit was hot Tom mehegan

Sportsnet 590 fire Jim Lang to shake things up in Toronto Sports radio

Jim Lang has been fired by the Sportsnet 590 and it is a sign of the fan wants to shake things up and I do not know why they would shaken things up as they are destroying TSN radio and that guy Mike Richards with his goofball morning show and maybe Richards has gotten a bigger piece of the youth viewer/listenership but this decision is surprising. So Greg Brady is sticking around with the morning show and will be needing a brand new co-host and it will probably be a bit of a search and I guess they would be looking for younger fresher face and if they go within the rogers building they need look at the sports educated Jeff Sammut who also has a wicked sense of humor. He also has been behind a lot of show bites of past morning show and bring new blood in to try to bring in younger listeners to try to boost listenership for the future of Toronto Sports radio and not let TSN radio breath at all. The surprising thing is that the fan has released a guy like Jim Lang will they keep Stormin' Norman Rumack just sits on the sidelines waiting for a couple seconds ever so often while going back to internet radio on NSS which is paid for by Frank D'Angelo who has made a name for himself with his being Frank TV show and his musical career that spans 4 decades and now contains an Orchestra. So the Fan has no problem just letting Lang walk and maybe bring something of an energy boost to the other guys and maybe bring a bite more life to their football knowledge as they are really focused on the Leafs and nothing else. While The fan does not want to use Stormin' but also is too scared to let a guy because he could start an actual overnight program that could give the other guys and give them a chance to find new listeners and battle harder. So in the Lange horns R.I.P. it has been fun having Lang horns on Tim&Sid and the stories of Lang craziness of the air Tom Mehegan

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber still friends

Tonight in Toronto it was the end of Selena's 8 city in 10 days which started in BC and ended in Toronto and the story was not how can the lighting being fixed as I was blinded by the light or how the music overpowered youth Selena's wonderful voice but that it was Bieber who showed up during the concert to pick her up after the concert. When the homeless guy mentioned that Justin Bieber had shown up in his little car to pick her up I simply just laughed it off and just that it was a simply silly that he show up and felt the same as the ladies handing out popsicles as they just wondered why in the world he would be picking up Selena. It is very clear that they are still friends but it looks like Selena just want to move on and has buried her head in her work which for the next three month as she tours the US and Europe playing 43 shows so she will have no time to try and keep Bieber out of trouble as she works her butt off for 90 minutes and then hit the road to the next city. Her schedule is very ambitious task that an indy band trying to find their way into the big time or get their music out to masses but it is commendable especially when BFF simply goes to a city for the weekend and then go back to LA to hang with friends. So Selena is going to take off the next week before starting next Friday in Denmark as she starts a 17 city 27 day tour that will go to London, Germany, and finish in Moscow, Russia. So what will she be doing during her time off she does have the MTV music awards tomorrow and she does have a movie coming out on Friday with Ethan Hawke and will likely have a movie premiere and talking about the movie before getting a plane and heading to Denmark to start the second leg of her tour. So she still hanging out with Justin so she likes be friends with him and is a very well grounded lady which is the opposite of Justin who has his own place and has friends (the yes crew) which is not the best thing for him as he faints on stage (partying to hard), car problems (driving to fast and getting on the wrong side of his neighbors), getting on the bad side of his own fans (brushing them off, showing up way late). So Selena is good for Justin as she can be the only person to keep him in check as he seems to like Selena and being around her takes away from his negatives and puts him in a better light. So Selena leaving her concert was mobbed by her fans along side Justin and took control of the situation by going into the mob and kissed babies, signed autographs, took pictures, and shook hands for at least a good 10 minutes with out blinking an eye if not longer as traffic was at a stop and not moving at all and the crowd was still there when my ride was able to break through the traffic. They are only friends because if they are more than that will not mention it as she wants to keep her private life PRIVATE and that will be really hard but she is really smart Tom Mehegan

Sylvester Stallone needs fans help to get his next movie off the ground

Yes that Sylvester Stallone who has done 6 Rocky movies and 3 Rambo movies which all put together made billions and that is only 9 of his movie credits over his 40-plus years of making movies is actually asking fans to donate to his next movie Reach Me. This absolutely silly as trying to raise money through donation is an absolutely indy movie that would likely be made for maybe 50,000 but no more than 100,000 and with a guy like Stallone doing the movie it not a movie that needs fans to help pay the bills. So it is been done after a major investor bailed on the movie so the cast has been making little to nothing and that is why they are looking for fans help to finish the movie. They have raised 20,000 dollars so far with the incentive for donating is signed copies of script, visits on set, and even meeting the cast. So new director John Herzfeld who came in after the investor bailed has decided to go to Kickstarter.com and have them set up a fund for the movie to boost the actors sprits and Stallone has stepped up and did a video to support the cause. So Stallone if he really was confidence he would put up whatever money is needed to keep the strive actors get what they need to make ends meet til the movie is released and to say that Stallone would have this money would be an understatement as there is no way he could of blown all of that money he has made in his long career and he allowing things going in this direction does nothing for his image. So Stallone in reach me is a former sports coach turned writer writing a self help book and it maybe not very good a.k.a. the investor bailing but with a low budget and Stallone in it could easily make the money back and if Stallone as an investor he would make his money back as he could get ticket sales of half a mil which would be way enough to cover expenses. Him putting his own money into the project would give him a huge boost in his reputation and it really look good on the 67 year old. Stallone looks really silly allowing the money to go in this direction Tom Mehegan

WWE's Darren Young announces he is gay

Darren Young who is a wrestler in the WWE who does not get a lot of TV time and is an after sight in the tag team with Titus O'Neil came out of the closet as a TMZ reporter went up to Los Angeles airport and asked him if a gay wrestler could be successful in the WWE and Young decided on the spot that would be a good time to announce that he was a gay wwe wrestler. So the positives of this story is that it would be a positive role model for young wrestling fans who are still confused with their sexuality or our gay themselves. The WWE has done the only thing they could by getting behind Young with positive tweets from the bosses (Stephanie McMahon and triple H) and the top dog John Cena. So negatives of the story will be what happens to him around the other wrestlers and they may not take it well and he maybe turned into a odd man out and he may lose some wrestling friends and he may be split from Titus O'Neil which would put his wrestling in jeopardy. Then there is mystery of the story as there was a gay tag team back in the day called Chuck and Billy and it was a publicity stunt that blow up in their face and this maybe his way to get more attention and more airtime and a bigger star and a bigger spot on the roster and get into a title picture. It will be interesting if they get behind him and "push" him or they "bury" him and he gets his best in future endeavored and he goes indy circuit. It may be a good day for the wrestling universe or another black eye for the universe depending on the way the WWE writers take his story line but if it was me I would let Young play a baby face wrestler and give him a "push" and give the fans a chance to get behind him if they want to. If they do the WWE should just get behind the fans like they did with CM Punk and Daniel Bryant instead of burying him like a fan favorite in Zach Ryder. It will be interesting time for Darren Young Tom Mehegan

The Wayne Gretzky trade 25 years later

August 9, 1988 when I was at a Christian camp and hear that the LA Kings had just traded for one of greatest hockey player's in NHL history in the great one Wayne Gretzky I was a dumb founded 11 year old. It would be a money deal as Peter Pocklington, the owner of the Oilers at the time, had run into money trouble and went to a guy named Bruce Mcnall who would be a crook but at the time was the owner of the Kings looking for 15 million dollars and getting it. He was traded with Marty McSorley and centre Mike Krushelnyski for Martin Gelinas, 3 first round draft picks ('89,'91, and '93) and rhe guy that the Oilers felt would be the great replacement Jimmy Carson (he could not live it down). It turned out to be the darkest day in Hockey as it was the end of hockey innocent as it ended up leading the first million dollar in the NHL along side Mario Lemieux with the Penguins and it would open up the flood gates for hickey which is not the bad. The impact of the deal would be felt over the next decade and not in a good way with the San Jose Sharks ('91), Phoenix Coyates ('96),Anaheim Mighty Ducks ('93), Colorado Avalanche ('95), Dallas Stars ('93), Nashville Predators ('98), Carolina Hurricanes ('97), Florida Panthers ('93), Tampa Bay Lightening ('92), and the dead Atlanta Thrashers ('99-2011) all joining the NHL and becoming black holes (not all the same size some smaller than others). Some people made it rich with the money grab of the NHL in the owner of the Hartford Whalers who sold the team to Carolina, the owner of the original Winnipeg Jets who sold it to Phoenix, and the owner of the Quebec Nordics who sold it to Colorado but any and every other owner has either had one of the warmer place teams in the south and California and have lost multiply shirts or the richer franchises who have to throw good money after bad to keep the teams a float. This did not have to be a black day for hockey because it is not very well known but has been reported over the bunch of years that Harold Ballard and had been talked to by Peter Puck before the Kings came into the picture and was offered to flop rosters so the Oilers would be playing out of Maple Leaf Gardens as Leafs and the Leafs would go west and become Oilers and the richest franchise in the NHL would likely have that Stanley guy stay a while but Harold got cold feet and Stanley still has not made a visit since '67. The Vancouver Canucks sniffing around the situation around the same time as the Kings were and no matter which was it all went it would of been nice to keep the NHL and Gretzky Canadian. The saddest part is one of the best players in hockey in Wayne Gretzky has disowned the NHL and it is all about one of those black holes and actually the biggest one in Phoenix because someone owes him millions and millions of dollars for his coaching career with the Coyotes. His daughter Paula Gretzky is getting a tone more attention than the great one and all for the wrong reasons (her body) and his son while son Trevor is a baseball player in the Chicago Cubs system and no doubt be a future Jays player. Please can someone get the great one back in hockey he is missed Tom Mehegan

mlb doing the Yankees dirty work

Major League Baseball is going hard after A-rod (Alex Rodriguez) by trying to get him out of baseball until the 2015 season and it all because they really want to help the Yankees after they have been pumping millions of millions dollars into the pockets of the other owners for decades. So they have been paying the luxury tax that puts money into the lower budget teams while their fans walk into other stadium and drop their hard earn money into the pockets of one of the other 29 owners in the majors. The thing here is that the Yankees want A-rod suspended so they do not have to pay him 25 million dollars for the 2014 season and if they could of gotten out from under the last 86 mil and the last four seasons of the contract for a guy who is a shell of his former self as he is broken and the production has falling off completely as he has 34 homers and 119 RBIs over the last three seasons as he has not played a game until tonight (August 5, 2013) in Chicago. The Yankees and A-rod are perfect together as they are both completely into themselves as A-rod does not care about his former wife as he just strut his stuff in downtown Toronto on the streets with his arms around strippers which was final act of his marriage even though he had been going behind her back with lots of other ladies of the night. He became an anti-hero when him and his former agent Scott Boras got the Texas Rangers to give A-rod a 10 year - 252 million dollar deal when they made up rumors about the New York Mets wanting him when it was only the Rangers bidding against themselves and became a mega anti-hero when he became a Yankee and saying mine as he went around third base as a runner and Blue Jay Howie Clark back away from the ball and it dropped to the turf and three runs scored. The Yankees could of just let the contract run out after the 2007 season when A-rod and his agent opted out of the last three seasons of his contract and when A-rod realized that nobody wanted him and he fired his agent and went crawling back to the Yankees and got them to top of his contract and he ended up getting a 10-year 275 million dollar deal. They did this not because they liked him or were trying to be a nice boss but because he had a chance to break Barry Bonds career home run record and were looking at the money that a home run chase would bring in so they just looked the other way when he was first caught in PEDs and just put their heads in the sand and looked the other way as he kept taking more PEDs as he marched to the home run record. So as soon as they realized he was not worth the paper his contract was written on and was unable to break the record they wanted nothing to do with him. So MLB is run by Bud Selig who when baseball was all juiced up and look the other way as McGwire/sosa home run single season record chase that saved baseball after the 1994 strike but bud got his guy in Ryan Braun just before he leaves Tom Mehegan

Gleeworld is in mourning

World according to Glee is stunned and dismayed with the news of one of the original member of the TV show Glee Cory Monteith who played Finn Hudson and was found passed away in his hotel room in Vancouver. He looked to have gotten back to his hotel room very early Saturday morning after a night of partying with friends and fell asleep and was ready to check later that morning to go back to L.A. to see Glee Co-star and real life girlfriend Lea Michele but instead he never woke up. Cory Monteith looks like another young person that grew up wanting the popularity, fame, and fortune and thought that would bring happiness and joy and instead it does not. So to take the pain away of having to watch everything they do and watch out for the Paparazzi, who are looking to destroy the image of celebrities, dive into alcohol and drugs to numb their brain and try to convince themselves they are happy with their addiction. It is a sad image of the world and people can not handle it and more importantly be able to take their money and step away from the spotlight and move into their next chapter of family life like Hilary Duff or the Simpson sisters (Ashley and Jessica) have done so successfully. In the end it is not that easy to take that step back just ask Lindsey Lohan, Brittney Spears, and Amanda Bynes who are unable to get out of their own way and have lifetime memberships to rehab clinics and can not stay out of trouble. Glee at least will do a great job honoring Cory Monteith most likely the season premiere in late September or early October and it will a very classy show just like when they did a very quick tribute to Whitney Houston a couple of seasons back. It maybe close to the most viewers a Glee episode has ever had as viewers will want to see how they Finn off the show. It is a sad day in the Gleeworld Tom Mehegan

Eric Lindros will have to sleep in the bed him and his family made

Eric Lindros on his production of 865 points in only 760 games and 1.1 points a game (15TH best of non-active players) should be in the Hockey Hall of Famebut his refusal to go to Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the OHL when they drafted him and Ex- NHLer Phil Esposito who was apart owner of the greyhounds and he ended up being traded to the Oshawa Generals. Of course that was not the only refusal he and is family made as they decided not report to the Quebec Nordiques when he was drafted No. 1 overall in the 1991 NHL entry draft and work out for the Nordiques as they got Peter Forsberg and Mark Ricci who were a couple of the center pieces to the Avalanche (former Nordiques) winning the Stanly Cup in their first season in Colorado. In the end karma in the form of Darius Kasparaitis got him as he caught Eric in '98 and sidelined for 18 games with a concussion and would become the reason that he only played 760 games or just over 9 NHL seasons even though he played from 1992-93 season to the 2006-07 season which totals 13 seasons in the NHL (including the '04-'05 lockout and the 2000-01 contract dispute cost him two seasons). He is not the only Lindros having concussions end their career early as younger brother Brett had his NHL career ended very quicly by concussion as he played only parts of two seasons with the Islanders after being drafted in '94 but by the end of the '95-'96 season he had retired and even little sis Robin Lindros even had her hockey career ended by concussions. Eric was a very good player who ended up sharing the heart trophy in the strike shortened season in '94-'95 and a first-team all-star in '94-'95 and a second team all-star in '95-\96 to playing in 7 all-star games in his short career. If he had not bullied hockey to get his way (his parents did it too) then he would be a hall of famer like Cam Nelly (694 points in 726 games) Tom Mehegan

Dan O'Toole and Jay Onrit head to Fox Sports 1 to make big splash on the brand-new network

Dan O'Toole and Jay Onrit are going to be hugely missed at the three letter (TSN) in Canada as they were strong holds for 11 PM pacific timeslot on Sprtscentre to the extreme of them not being on a show sent racial slurs through the twitter vers one night so they will be hard to replace to the point I do not know if it is possible right away, The thing is that one of the big networks down south called (FOX) and said we are starting up our own sports network (FOX Sport 1) and Dan and Jay looked at the contract offer and jumped at the offer and will be starting August 17 when the Network starts up Fox Sports live, So they will bring their corky humor to Fox Sports Live which will be a family size three-hour version with them doing the highlights while guys like former tennis pro Andy Roddick will have a discussion at different points of that three-hour show sharing their views on the sports topics of the day. This maybe hard to pull off a three-hour program and try to keep an audience for all three-hours but Dan and Jay should be able to help start-up the new network and help keep an audience for their Pardon the interruption and sports center all rolled into a very big bowl of humor and comedy. So Fox Sports 1 its self will have a hard time taken viewers away from the four letter (ESPN) down south but with Nascar, Major League Baseball (including playoffs), NCAA football (including bowl games), and even soccer with Gus Johnson they will not going in naked as they have programming and in September they will have the NFL will be back and some how, some way it will dominate their Sunday programming. So they will have audience to build from but will have to be patient as that Bean stock that giant (ESPN) is at the top of is huge and it will take Jack (FOX sports 1) to get an indent into that bean stock. So I hope that Dan and Jay do well on down south as they did up north Tom Mehegan

The Genius Brain Murray is at it again

Ottawa Senators were saddened by their divorce with Daniel Alfredsson but Brain Murray did not get down on himself and picked a new arm candy in Bobby Ryan and yes I am talking about that Bobby Ryan that was the odd man out in Anaheim with Cory Perry with a cap hit of 8.625 mil a season and Ryan Getzlaf with a cap hit of 8.25. So with two seasons left on a deal worth 5.1 million and a nice pay increase coming to him the Ducks would not be able to handle three contracts probably worth over 8 million of a cap hit. That is where the GM genius steps in and Brain Murray pulled the rug out from everyone as they were blinded by the Daniel Alfredsson decision and he came in and packaged Jakob Silfverberg, a first round pick in 2014 and young winger Stefan Noesen for a 30-goal in Bobby Ryan and it looks like Murray has not lost a step. So Jason Spezza (if he stays healthy) will have a nice left winger in Bobby Ryan and with Ryan's 4 straight 30 plus goal seasons before the 48-game season and also at least 50 to 70 points a season during those 4 seasons and both should feed off each others talent level and take each other to another level. With a great goalie in Craig Anderson (Anderson for Bishop the Avs must be kicking themselves) the Sens could battle those annoying Bruins for the top of their division while keeping those feet ready to kick at those up and coming Leafs, Canadiens, and those brand new Red Wings and their new arm candy Daniel Alfredsson. Brian Murray keeps a step ahead of everyone else Tom Mehegan

Leafs Marry Clarkson while Sens dumped by Alfredsson what a weird day

The Maple Leafs went into the free agent waters and caught the biggest fish of all in David Clarkson who comes from the New Jersey Devils and lets hope he is not the next Scott Gomez who was poop after leaving New Jersey. Clarkson has signed for 7 years and that is a long-term contract for 37.75 million which is less of a cap hit that the biggest fish usually gets. Clarkson goes against everything the Leafs have been able to do in the past as he is local guy like Steve Stamkos or John Taveres who decided to re up with their teams and Rick Nash while he wanted to be traded but not his hometown. Then a couple of free agent seasons ago they tried to catch the big fish local boy Brad Richards and David Nonis has done more in less than a year has done things that Brain Burke could not do like making the playoffs, bringing in a goalie at a good price, and bring in a prized free agent. He has also brought back Tyler Bozak and at 5 years and 21 mil it is a lot less than if Mikhail Grabovski so that is why he was bought out and now it will be interesting if Bozak or Clarkson will be in-between Kessel and Lupul. On the other hand the happy go lucky Ottawa Senators who have made every right move with the help of GM Brian Murray who is the greatest GM in the NHL with the resources he has while the likes of the Pittsburgh Penguins just take everything they have and put it all together to take one crack at the cup. Today is a very strange day in the capital city as they were looking to go happy into the sunset with Daniel Alfredsson after wonderful marriage with him with Daniel hinting wanting to head into the sunset a few times over the last few seasons but he would always come back. Then today Daniel woke up and looked over at the Senators and said I want a divorce because their is someone else and for him it the Detroit Red Wings and it stunned the Senators and their family and friends (their fans). It will be awkward when Daniel and his new girl comes over a lot next season as the Red Wings are coming East and will be in the same division and the price tag 5.5 million but it will never be the same again between the two of them and the Wings and Sens have as much of a chance to lift lord Stanley mug. What a weird day in Ontario Tom Mehegan

Canucks figured out who is their No.1 goalie but failed getting there

So the Vancouver Canucks decided to close the door on the goalie controversy by decided to trade which ever goalie they could trade out of town and that was Cory Schneider and the Canucks GM Mike Gilliso decided to keep Roberto Luongo, who asked to be traded and did not decide to pick-up the phone and calling Bobby Lou and making sure if he wanted to stay in Vancouver playing for fans who cheered him when he got injured in the past. Schneider who is young and cheaper, and maybe even better than Bobby Lou is heading to New Jersey to be the back-up to Martin Border next season and in return the Canucks got only the No. 9 draft pick which they turned into London Knight's Bo Horvat. This was very shocking as a late top 10 draft pick for a 27-year-old goalie that in a year could be the smooth transition from the Martin Border era and keep this moving in that same direction to use a low budget and be able to be a cup contender playoff after playoff behind strong D making it easier for the goalie to shine. So to say that rhe Canucks could of done better is an understatement because if they had kept that deal in their back pocket going into the first day of the draft on Sunday and when a guy like Seth Jones slips to the Lightening at third overall the Canucks should of been able to turn Schneider into Jones as the Lightening need a goalie and are uncomfortable with the goalies they have and they are a goalie away from being a cup contender and that is Cory Schneider. If they need to stick their 24Th pick to get that deal done and it would be a win-win situation for both teams and Seth Jones might of been able to be the sixth d-man for the Canucks while Bo Horvat will be playing with the knights this season and might be with the Canucks in two or third seasons down the line when the Canucks maybe in rebuilding mode. So the Canucks could of gotten more for Schneider from either the Oilers or the Flames but because they did not want to trade within the division they decided to go with the lesser dealer from the Devils. Now it will be interesting what the Devils will do now as they have options which are: 1. have Border and Schneider splitting time in the net so that Border would be more rested in the playoffs and really make a last chance dash at another sip of lord Stanley mug; 2. Schneider waits his turn and play a quarter while Border plays three-quarters of the games and it being the last season of Border in New Jersey and then he chooses to either retire or go elsewhere to finish his career; 3. Is the most interesting thing as New Jersey could turn around and get a deal from either of the Alberta teams as they could maybe get Calgary's No.6 overall draft pick Sean Monahan and either their 22Nd pick Emile Poirier or 28Th Morgan Klimchuk or even the Flames first round draft pick in 2014. Edmonton wants and need a goalie and maybe willing to trade one of their young guns or maybe the No. 7Th pick Darnell Nurse and the Oilers first pick in 2014 which would be a better deal tan what the Canucks got. The Black Hawks got more for Dave Bolland from the Leafs getting a second- and sixth- round draft picks in this draft and a fourth-rounder in 2014 and they maybe will end up with more NHL played games and Seth Jones will look good alongside Shea Weber as a predator Tom Mehegame

WWE'S PAYBACK hsd s lot of great changes and a very mysterious one

The Crowd on fire all night and they received great match off the front to match their excitement: It started with the Intercontinental title in a three way match with Champion Wade Barrett VS The Miz and Curtis Axel and was a mess of a match with Hayman keeping him out of the ring and out of the match as much as possible and the ended with Miz having Barrett in a finger four and Axel came and pinned Barrett and became champion. It was awesome with Axel who is the son of the great Intercontinental champ Curt Henning and held up the white title that was like Curt Henning and looked up at the sky thinking about his father on what was father's day and was a perfect moment. It was followed by a great diva match for the butterfly title as Kaitlyn came in with the title and thankfully she did not leave with the title as she should of bet A.J. as they speared her but did the blow off kiss instead and it cost her the match as soon after she was rolled up by A.J. to get her first butterfly title. Early on in the match the front of her T-shirt was ripped off and looked like a vest with her bra covering up her top parts and left it like this the rest of the night with fishnet shirt over top of it. So the crowd loved it and when it got to Ziggler and Del Rio for the smack down title and it was Del Rio hitting Ziggler in the head with kicks and hitting him into the Spanish announce table and it ended with Ziggler getting the zig zag but hitting his head and not able to cover Del Rio and took another kick to the head and was pinned for the title and Del Rio is the new champ. They did the concussion angle with the doctor checking on Ziggler time after time and AJ was worried about Ziggler's health and that he was unable to make it to the back on his own strength. This the mysterious change because it was not only a title change but also a heel/face flip is the first in 16 years as the last time was Wrestling mania 13 when Steve Austin and Brett Hart wrestled and Austin was turned face and Hart was turned heel. After the match Del Rio cemented his heel turn by coming out again making sure that everybody known he was the champ and was booed the whole time and it should of been obvious as Rodriguez spoke English instead of Spanish as his intro of Del Rio. SO IN THE END IT WILL LIKELY BE NEW DIVA CHAMP AND FORMER NXT CHAMP WILL DICT ZIGGLER AND STAY HEEL TOM MEHEGAN

CM Punk is still best in the world in Chicago

CM Punk was over all night and he was a great performer and he was wrestling Chris Jerico and tried s standing head scissors and ended up in a wall of Jerico and fought out of it and ended the match with double go to sleeps on Jerico and was not able celebrate with crowd as he needed to get out of the ring because they needed to get to the next match. Punk did get frustrated with Paul Hayman so it may not be long til Punk throws Hayman to the curb and become a baby face again and maybe a good baby face or more likely a bad idea because he is so much of a great bad guy that he will fail as a good guy. So it is great to have Punk along side Hayman as they are a great team and great chemistry in and outside the ring Tom Mehegan

RVD coming back to the WWE in Philly

After Randy Orton got a home field crowd in St. Louis @ Extreme Rules and he played up to the crowd and was hugely over and it was so good that at the next Pay Per View Payback in Chicago was the return of CM Punk (Chicago made punk also known as Punk City) and was a huge crowd favorite and had Match of the night with Y2J and it took 5 go to sleeps to finish off Y2J. Then during the Payback Pay Per View they announced that RVD (Rob Van Dam) would be returning in 4 weeks (July 14) @ Money In The Bank and it was a great idea for the WWE not only because it has two ladder matches and RVD is known for ladder matches but it happening in the head quarters of what used to be ECW. So RVD is not coming home but Philadelphia is a second home for him as he was a superstar in the ECW and it will be a huge crowd for him and it is the best thing for the WWE and the best spot to have him debut as it is the place were he will make most of his money. He will not be around very much and will be likely a road agent within the next year. RVD will be awesome in 4 weeks @ the Money In The Bank Tom Mehegan

Kim and Kanya West bring a baby girl into the World

Kim and Kanya West delivered a baby into the world and the baby girl that was delivered 5 weeks early and is healthy for now because we are talking about the family of Kim Kardashian and Kanya West who will their girl in front of cameras early and often in about 15 to 20 years from now a highly paid shrink will sit down and try to help the young lady what is wrong with her life. It will all start with someone paying very good money for the kids first photos and than Kim and the baby will go on the road with Kanya in October as he starts his world tour and I do not know how long these two will be able to keep it together for the kid but it will be a gong show of mass destruction. But I will admit that I thought the Miss Courtney Love would ruin her baby Francis Bean Cobain just like she helped ruin Kurt and instead she has found a good path in art and fashion and her engaged to the older Isaiah Silva who is the lead singer of the band the Rambles. She has kept her noise clean and out of trouble and staying out of the public eye and I hope that Kim and Kanya's daughter is able to find the right path to her future and not get herself in trouble. Let's hope the child will turn out health in the end Tom Mehegan

Taylor Swift puts a great performance in Toronto

So it was the 33Rd stop on the Red Tour headline by Taylor Swift and she put on a great performance @ the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and first of two shows @ the Rogers Centre before ending her weekend on Sunday @ the Much Music Video Awards (MMVA). The show was scripted from A to Z put was as smooth as a baby's butt with the custom changes were provided by videos in the first hour of Swift first talking about people try to knock her down and that they have done it yet and then a video of her past performances as a kid. Then in the last 40 minutes had a lot of changes and the distractions were her Violinist doing a performance and then the dancers had two performances and it ended with Never ever ever get back together and the fire works went off and then the house lights went on and it was over without any encores. There were no surprise as Ed Sheeran did not lose his ear piece and was able to keep on tune with the song Everything Has Changed that he does with Miss Swift. So Austin Mahone always wanted to remind himself that he was in Toronto and also that Taylor Swift was coming up later as he constantly said both over and over again. Then Ed Sheeran wanted to remind himself that he was in Canada and that was the statement he said over and over again and he tried to be fresh and new by changing up his songs and just mention that people could make up their own words and explained about his favorite instrument that he could make different sounds. Then Swift like to remind herself that there were 45,000 fans screaming her songs and she decided not to use any twitter ideas like she did at other stops on the tour. So there were no surprise i.e. special guest but with the MMVAs on Sunday she will most likely have a few special guest who will becoming in early for the show and they will different songs in front of over 40,000 fans on Saturday and it might be a better show. Taylor will be leaving Toronto with lots of Money as she will be taken in 10 million in ticket sales and awards from MMVAs and a four time platinum award for Canada but her handlers made a bad choice on how to get miss Swift out of the building as they sent her into a mob of fans and then had to rush her to a vehicle to safety while the other usual exit was clear and safe. So she will spend time shopping on Saturday Tom Mehegan

Dallas Eakins a good choice for young Oilers

Dallas Eakins has a wealth of knowledge from coaching the Toronto Marlies for four season and took the Marlies to Calder cup final after finish first in the division in the 2011-12 and then in the 2012-13 the Marlies finished first again but only made it to the second round of the Calder cup playoffs. He helped players like Nazem Kadri, James Reimer, Ben Scrivens, Ryan Hamilton, Joe Colborne, Mark Fraser, and Jake Gardiner to be able to move up to the NHL level and help the Leafs make the playoffs. So he has built up young players to get to the next level and he will be a good fit as the new head coach of the Edmonton Oilers and will have the opportunity to take players like Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Nail Yakupov, and Justin Schultz to take their games to the next level so ring that paycheck bell to have their salaries sky rocket. Then it is time to put together veteran players to go with the youth they have gotten in the draft and Dallas has been able to get more out of career AHL players and he will need to find more useful veteran players rather than the likes of Ales Hemsky, Shawn Horcoff, Ryan Jones, and Ryan Smyth who are veteran players but are not good fit as they can not get the job done. The Oilers need be better on the back end and keep that black frozen round thing out of their own net and Dallas will need to put in a defensive system that helps goalies like Devan Dubnyk or whoever they bring in to be the starter for the 2013-14 season. Dallas Eakins is getting his chance to make it in the NHL and it will be interesting to see if Eakins is able to be better than Randy Carlyle who is the head coach of the Maple Leafs a job that Dallas should of gotten. Oilers will have a top 5 pick and it will be interesting what they will do with it Tom Mehegan

mlb cracking down on PEDs and may take down big names

In a strip mall in Miami lots of baseball players have been found what they needed to be the best baseball player they could be by using PEDs (performance enhancement Drugs) and now Major League Baseball is going after them extremely hard to write the wrong that happened in the late 80's and the 90's when they buried their head in the sand. So the names are very juicy and the big bull of the investigation is the Milwaukee Brewers's Ryan Braun who they had dead to right on a PED charge and because they had something happen to the sample and he got away scot-free and they had egg all over face and since this happen they have wanted something on him. So with Biogenesis's Tony Boesch who is in huge legal problem is willing to hand over his little black book and when baseball gets that little black book in their hands and will be able to pin it on a guy like Braun as the baseball PA lost their mind as they have agreed to allow the commissioner to suspend players without positive tests. The guy looking at losing the most is free ageng with t Robertson Cano who would of been looking at 20-25 mil a season over 6 or 7 seasons at least and he is in Boesch's little black book and he fall into the fate of Melky Cabrera who was looking at big money as he was on MVP candidate but when he was suspended for the last 50 games of last season and ended up getting 16 million over two seasons with the Jays. Melky is also named in the little black book along with Bartolo Colon who got suspended near the end of last season and both maybe safe as they may have no recent purchases of PEDs and may not get their strike two which is a 100 game suspension and a step away from being banned from baseball a third strike. Also a guy like A-Rod who was on pace to break Barry Bonds's home run record and now the Yanks are looking for anyway to get away from his contract and Nelson Cruz who had great seasons with help from former friend Josh Hamilton and now maybe taken a 50 game break and if the MLB has a say it will be a strike two for the guys on the list meaning they can not mess up again or they are out of baseball. Also Nationals ace pitcher Gio Gonzalez who with a 21-9 record got some CY Young votes and lead the Nationals out of nowhere to the playoffs. In the end big names will fall but how the PA will allow the comish to rule with a iron fist with a piece of paper from a shady guy in Tony Boesch especially if money went from hand-to-hand it will not stand. Baseball has the right idea but in the end PEDs will always be a step ahead of testing so good luck Tom Mehegan

New York Rangers should start new without sather

So Glenn Sather who has done very little except the boss's and a lot of it in that since he joined the Rangers Organization in 2000 and it has been big contract and bust through out his time like a nice 35 and a quarter million to Chris Drury here and 39 million to Wade Redden there and then another 37.5 million to Marián Gáborík not to forget thr whapping 58.5 million to Brad Richards. These four guys the first three all on 5 year deals for one reason or another ended up retiring early (Drury), spend more time in the minors than in the NHL (Redden), and injured more often than healthy and then trade because he did not fit the team (Gáborík), Then there is sir Richards pn whapping 9 year deal and when the Rangers needed him the moat in the playoffs they could find him in the press box as he was a healthy scratch and the newest and the biggest was Rick Nash who was trade to the RANGERS for Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and a 2013 first round draft pick who went to Columbus and it was close at times that Columbus would be msking it into the NHL playoffs for the second time in franchise history in the East and the Rangers out in the West, So with Nash just finishing his third year of a eight year deal paying him 63.4 million and him and the likes of Richards struggled wish 5 points for Nash and Richards a staggering one point and one of the best goalie's in the world Henrik Lundqvist behind them and with a little help he would take them a long way. Glenn Sather made a great draft pick in his first draft with the Rangers picking up King Henrik with the 205 pick in the 2000 draft but then not able to get dudes to put around him. So it diffidently time him to take a step back and let someone new come in and pick their own head coach and build differently because build in draft like the five teams still standing in the playoffs LA,Chiago,Detroit,Pittsburgh,Boston have make brilliant trades to become a cup contender. Lets also remember that building a team around the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Paul Coffey is pretty sim[le and winning win 5 Stanley Cups and he still living off those cups like Kevin Lowe is trying to do in Edmonton Tom Mehegan

Patrick Roy named Avs head coach and let the sound bites beginled bird

Avs hall of fame goalie Patrick Roy with his 4 Stanley cups (2 with avs and 2 with Montreal Canadiens)is he is heading back to Colorado to be the Avalanche to be the head coach at now it makes the Avs even more interesting than just having have the first overall pick in next month NHL draft. So people in Colorado are finding out about something call the memorial cup which is happening right now in my hometown of Saskatoon Saskatchewan that have the first two draft picks in the draft SETH JONES of the Portland Winter hawks and NATHAN MACKINNON of Halifax are in the tournament and both might face each other on Sunday in the finale if Portland beats LONDON . Back to Patrick Roy who will be starting his NHL career in October but it will not be the first time coaching as he coached Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Junior Hockey League and the memorial cup in '06 in his first season and that is when the fun began as he on January 19 '07 in Chicoutimi Quebec he punched the co-owner of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens Pierre Cardinal. Pierre Cardinal sued Roy but dropped it but the issue was far from over as Patrick's son Jonathan Roy a goalie with the Remparts against the Sagenuéens in a playoff game on March 22, 2008 during he was encouraged to go down and fight their goalie by good ol' dad and a defenseless goalie even after he was already lying on the ice and then double birds to the crowd as he left the ice and was suspended 7 games and dad was given 5 himself. Then on November 21, 2008 his other son Frederick Roy crossed checked his opponent in the face with his stick and was also suspended 15 games. So he causes trouble that's not all he gives lively post-game interviews and that may come in very handy as in New York the Tros and Brokies may come to a end when Bruins dispose of the Rangers and head coach John Tortorella gets fired the media will be looking to Patrick for the best sound bite of the night and he will give it to them, MAYBE A BAD BUT FUN SOUND BITES Tom Mehegan

WWE knight of the shield and I got to be with my look-a-like

As expected all three members of the shield walked out with more gold (1 piece each) than they came in with (nobody came in with any). It started with Dean Ambrose defeating Kofi Kingston for the US title with the biggest surprise of all was how they positioned the shield members tonight as they had both Seth Rollins nor Roman Reigns came to ringside to make it look like the shield were strong and did not need the outside interference for the victories. So Kofi could of kept the title as he did connect with a trouble in Paradise with Ambrose on the ring apron but outside of the ring and he fell to the floor and would of been counted out but Kofi wanted to pin him and got him back in the ring for a two count if that and soon after that Ambrose drove Kofi into the canvas for the three count. After the match Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns joined Ambrose in the ring to celebrate by having Ambrose on the other two's shoulders like Randy Orton on the shoulder of Bastista or Lex Luger on the shoulders of other wrestlers when he defeated Yokozuna. Later in the night Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came down to the ring without Dean Ambrose and took on team Hell No who had held the titles for over 240 days and they took those titles away from team Hell No in a tornado match and it went back and forth until Kane was knocked out of the ring and the shield were able to take advantage of Bryant to win the title and probably end the team of Hell and No for a long while maybe after a rematch tomorrow night's Raw. At the end of the match Dean Ambrose joined them and they did the row of guys all holding up their title like look at what we have now and I do not know if they can make the invisible titles visible again but having them with the titles will show a very strong Trio of awesomeness and I hope that they keep them for a very long time until they figure out which one will win a heavyweight title. Another surprise was that Kaitlyn and A.J. did not fight and have that butterfly title around the right waist but instead they faught in the back with the Bellas just looking on and me and my look-a-like hanging out at the movie theater this show did more to liven up the show than those Bellas. It is awesome to hang out with my look-a-like because he is so awesome Tom Mehegan

Maple Leafs have important decisions to make

After a horrible end to the season where it looked like Trot and Brookie where heading to Toronto and bring their side show with them for game one and two at the Air Canada Centre one minute. The next it is how the bleep did that Bruins team that could not score into Lake Ontario with the man advantage in the regular season end up scoring two goals in 30 seconds with the extra man. So in the end they did Chara in front of Reimer and two got through both of them and the Leafs started thinking about what to do in the off season at least a couple weeks early if not more than a month (Eastern Conference final or #Stanley). So they do have decisions to make and for me as an outsider they look easy: 1. Nazem Kadri the guy who will turn 23 at the beginning of next season needs a contract and he will get one and a long one (4 or 5 years) at a great price for him (3 to 4 mil) and then let Leaf fans start ripping him apart like Jake Gardner or Luke Shienn; 2. James Reimer, the 25-year-old, who got over thankfully his concussion and yes Burke that is what it bleeping was will also need a new deal and will get the same kind of money with probably less term (likely 3 years). 3. Tyler Bozak, the 27-year-old free agent, will be able to choose what he wants so if he wants to stay he will get some money but if he wants it all he will find it elsewhere and the Leafs can find someone to do his job at the right price. 4. Phil Kessel, the 26-year-old at the beginning of the next season and the lighten rode of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be a free agent in 13 and a half month and if it is me I would find away to keep him with the team as he is consistent player and will put up 30 plus goals and the only question I have is will he put up with Toronto. He will get whatever he wants from the Leafs but some nice cozy places that do not ask as much from him than Toronto will give him close to the same money but a max deals only gets him to 34 years old (8 seasons) not bad compared to whats out there. 5. Dion Phaneuf, 28-year-old one-way Defense man, will be a free agent at the end of next season and if his last contract season of 60 points in '07-'08 he is keeper until the trade deadline because get as much out of his great upcoming season and then dump him because his non-contract season do not come even close. So lets hope the Leafs are smart and do not listen to the fans and do not sign him to an extension otherwise it is Bryan McCabe all over again. 6. Mikhail Grabovski and his contract of 4 more seasons of a cap hit of 5.5 mil is the Leafs version of Vernon Wells and it is best to find a team (southern Florida) that will need a cap hit of 5.5 mil to get to a salary cap floor. Take it eaz Leaf fans Tom Mehegan

Tiffany Alvord 5 years of cover songs

the 20-year-old Californian lady named Tiffany Alvord today is celebrating 5 years of cover songs on youtube and she started with a computer camera in her house it looks like and it all started with stop and stare by one republic on May 15,2008. She has like over 60 cover songs from the likes of Carly Ray Jepsen, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and a lot more and so of them are even better than the original artists version. After a while she started making music videos for songs like Taylor Swift's Never ever going to get back together and then she put out her own original music like "so alive", "Never Been Better", "This is just the start" for a million subscribers and now at 1.3 million, and "My Heart is" along other original songs. She got to perform at Time Square in New York on New Years Eve 2012 and performed on the same stage as some of the artists that she has covered like Taylor and Carly Ray Jepsen and her version Jepsen "this kiss" was so Popular that it got her on that stage and she also performed "My heart is" She has made a bit of a following but unlike the little bit younger Megan Nicole of is also a youtube cover artist is not signed to record label like Nicole who is signed to Diddy's Bad boy records. She has done covers with the likes of Nicole, Jason Chan, and Allstar Weekend along with others and is in the top 50 most subscribers and she has followed in Justin Bieber's footsteps and her time my come and she maybe able to put out a full album. She is still putting all her songs on itunes and is making the kind of money that most 20 year-old's could only dream of. Maybe soon she will take her talents to the next level with a record label on her side Tom Mehegan

Roy Halladay at a cross roads

Roy Halladay who turned 36 years old today is a cross roads in his major league baseball career and will go under the knife tomorrow to remove bone spurs along with a frayed labrum along with partially torn rotator cuff in his pitching shoulder. He will be trying to get back from this this season and with his hard work ethics and will do everything in his powers to do so. Ry Halladay has 201 wins in his career and is 99 away from that magical number of 300 wins and what looked like a good shot to get to that number and maybe become one of the last 300 winner is looking more like a distant fog with no end in sight. So the reality is that he will need to find Roger Clemons fountain of youth because he will need at least 6 solid seasons of 15-17 wins and it will take him into his mid-forties and all that is not a guarantee at all as players break more the older they get. With the more pitchers starting with 5 and 6 man rotations it will be much harder year after year with 6 or 7 inning outings and putting your victories in the hands of the bullpen it diffidently get harder season after season to reach that number. Now with pitchers going down on a regular basis and teams babying their pitchers a consent 15-17 game winner not be easy to find and it would take almost 20 seasons at that pace to get there. But if anyone can find that fountain it is the good doctor Tom Mehegan

Big E to replace Ziggler at extreme rules

Dolph Ziggler who is the Smackdown world champ but he has a problem as last Tuesday May, 14 during the Smackdown taping Ziggler was in the ring with Jack Swagger and sadly Swagger forgot how strong he is and he injured Ziggler's brain as he has a concussion and does not remember anything until Big E and AJ put him on a plane home on Wednesday. So in the end with a week before a ladders match that was supposed to highlight all of Ziggler's talents and he has not been cleared of effects of the concussion which puts the ladder match into a No. 1 contender match for the title and if they do not add anything it will be Swagger and Del Rio. But to add so more drama for next Sunday's Extreme Rules with Big E being put into the match and if he wins he gets a shot at the title and the drama may boost the low interest for the event. Reyback/Cena has been killed by too much talking by the Reyback and Paul Heyman has built up the interest for the Lesner/Trips for Lesner's victory next Sunday but trips dead panned the whole and killed a lot of buzz from the high rating segments of Heyman/Lesner in Stanford, Connecticut. It will be a very disappointing event after a long 6 week wait for it Tom Mehegan

The two biggest Leafs fans I know

Living in Toronto I know a like of Leafs fans but two of them are more loyal than the rest of them. The first is a guy named Frank who I have known for a decade and is the most craziest Leaf fan and has been very quiet for a few years with the Leafs sucking so bad but not bad enough to get good draft picks. This was until Wednesday night when the Leafs finally broke their 9 year of dried up non-playoffs and he went home Wednesday night and had a big bowl of pasta before putting on his Leafs pjs and sat down in front of his TV with his Leaf blanket to watch the Leafs play the Bruins and I could hear him miles and miles away when the Leafs went up 1-0 a minute into the first period. By the end of the game that the Bruins won 4-1 Frank was hiding behind his couch and asking his wife to turn the game off and she just kicked the TV remote towards him and told him do it yourself. The other big Leaf fan that I know is a guy named Wesley who I have known for over three decades and fell asleep as he fell asleep in his comfy red car five minutes into the game as the Leafs were up 1-0 still. When he woke up after the game he found out that the Leafs lost 4-1 he stomped around the house for a couple of hours while his wife just put ear plugs in her ears and pulled her sheets over her head until she finally fell asleep. Even though I no longer a leaf fan but wish that Leafs do well for the sack of all of the great fans the Leafs have but do not care about Tom Mehegan

tim and sid return back home to the score

As some may know and some may not know that Rogers communication last August put a bid in to buy the Score Television Network and the government of Canada stepped in to review the purchase and today they decided that it was OK for Rogers to have the score TV. So with Rogers now owning the Score TV they have more air time to fill like they did not have enough with all the Sportsnet channels and some wise guy at Rogers said hay why don't we put the Tim and Sid show on the score. So starting tomorrow Tim and Sid who basically built the Score brand with their own hands between 1997 and late 2011 will be heading back to the score as a Rogers employees by putting their radio program on TV so they can be seen on the Score from 1-4 PM Monday-Friday as well as being heard still on Rogers Sportsnet 590, the fan at the same time. It will be like Bob McCown on Sportsnet one when he is not taken off for bowling or something but much funnier as Tim and Sid are somewhat going home but not really as they are still Rogers employees and are the fan content first and fore most. They have hinted at getting some former friends who are friends again on with them so some names that come to mind first and fore most is the raging Red head Cam Stewart and Sid's look-a-like Greg Sanone but the guy that most people who listened to the original show on the score Timandsid uncut like me want to see and hear is the one and only Ryan Haines. It will be like thieir old TV show score tonight except that it will be longer with more edutainment and no highlights. It is a great day having the score and tim and sid getting remarried Tom Mehegan

Brain Burke suing the unknown

After Brian Burke was released from his duties as the GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs in January and went to become a scout for the Anaheim Ducks it turns out that 18 unknown people commented that Burke had an affair and was the baby daddy of Sportsnet announcer Hazel Mae. So Burke has decided to go after these 18 people who wrote the comments and flied a lawsuit in BC to try and change the face of unanimous comments from message boards and the like which is a good idea but it maybe a pointless exercise because with uncharted urls and numbers being the only leads and the urls and numbers change everytime they log in and post something so they maybe unable to be found. I really hope that the whole internet comment posting gets serious and legit so that these keyboard cowboys disappear as they would be able to be unanimous and having to put their name on it and have a tracing system that allows people to own up to their comments. I do not know why people would want to deface people and hurt them for no reason other than for their own amusement. I write about my thoughts and I put my name on it and only tell the truth and would never say something like that because Burke needs to humbled but not like this as it ruin families and weeks do not go by without hearing about cyber bullying that sadly turns into a suicide victim because they can not handle the hurtful words. I wish that people would be nicer to each other because u may not agree with someone but there is a right and wrong way to get your point across Tom Mehegan

Jason Collins makes a brave decision

Jason Collins who is 12 season veteran of the NBA decided that today he would put all his cards on the table as he announced that he was gay and in that became the first active athlete in one of the four major sports in north american (NBA,MLB,NHL,OR NFL). What does this really mean is: one that are gay athletes in North American sports which is a simply a no brainer as there are people in a walks of life that have decided to have a relationship with their own sex and it is that athletes are too scared of what their teammates and opponents will react to the news. Two that the 34-year-old Jason Collins career in the NBA is over as he played with the Washington Wizards this season and I will be shocked if the Wizards or any other team in the NBA will be willing to have an openly gay player on their team which will mean that he will need to head to Europe if he wants to continue his basketball career. Third is that he is a very brave man trying to make it better for other athletes to not have to hide their personal life from their friends and hopefully do what Jackie Robinson did for baseball 66 years ago for blacks in baseball. Collins should be thanked and congratulated for try to be trend setter for other athletes Tom Mehegan

CM Punk carries Taker to the match of mania

CM Punk and the Undertaker had the best build up with Paul Bearer death in the middle of the build and Punk carried Taker to the best match because Punk is a very strong worker and Taker is a lot older than he once was. So the match was about going for finishers and having the other reverse it or kicked out of the go to sleep or the tombstone or choke slam and Punk during the match tried and hit Takers close line and hit it twice and the RIP sign with the thumb across the throat. So ringside they had both Paul Heyman and HBK there and near the end of the match HBK came into the ring and took out Heyman as the Ref was out and Heyman throw the urine to Punk and he hit Taker with it and then put it by the stair before pinning Taker who kicked out at two grabbed Punk by the throat and choked slammed him to hell for the victory. Also during the match Punk went off the top rope with the Macho elbow and the second time it was on the Spanish announce table and it did not break because the table knew that it was supposed to break during the Trips and Brock match. The crowd was the most excited for this match as most of the night crowd was sleeping with a little excitement for Del Rio and Swagger match but by the end they wanted Ziggler who would not come to the ring and cash in and did not win the tag titles which was big surprise but the biggest surprises were in living color played Punk to the ring and Mark Henry pinned Reyback clean. If the WWE was smart they would of moved Henry/Reyback til later in the night and put Taker/Punk last because they went Taker/Punk, Trips/Brock, and Rock/Cena back-to-back-to-back and that horrible. Cena beat Rock so the crowd went home not as happy Cena was not a fan favorite and it was just very strange way of doing thing. Brock did a RIP sign during his match so maybe Taker/Brock in New Orleans for Mania 30 Tom Mehegan

Sidney Crosby not to be ready for the playoffs

Sidney Crosby was hit in the mouth by a flying puck off the stick of teammate Brooks Orpik that charged direction and caught the "KID" under his visor but Penguins GM Ray Shero says that Crosby's jaw was not wired shut and that maybe go for recovery time. The Penguins I am pretty sure that Crosby will miss the first round of the playoffs as they have only four weeks til the end of the regular season which ends at the end of April and it should take at least 6 weeks to heal his jaw and the Penguins are hoping that he will be healthy to start the playoffs. I do not trust the Penguins medical staff as the Simpson's Dr. Nick has had more credibility than the Penguins medical staff over the last few years and yes I know that they have new people in charge of the health of the Penguins players but I still think they will mess this up and it will become a lingering injury just like his concussion issues. It is a good thing that the Penguins have dived head first into the trade seas picking up Brandon Morrow, Jerome Iginla, and even Douglas Murray as Crosby not only one to likely miss the beginning of this season's playoffs as they be missing Paul Martin for the next 4-6 weeks with a broken bone in his hand. They are still without Kris Letang who was placed on IR with a lower body injury and will be a question mark for quite a while but on a good note they have gotten back Evgeni Malkin this past Thursday and has a point in each of his first two games back. The Penguins with their new pieces in the lineup for the last 12 games of the regular season (the last quarter) it will be interesting Tom Mehegan

Selena Gomez fails to break out of the disney shadows

So Selena Gomez for some reason or another that being apart of a somewhat more realistic look at what happens on spring break was a good idea and signed onto be apart of the movie "spring breakers". The thing that Miss Gomez is trying to do is shad the image of being in the Disney machine or simply get some sun by getting out of the shadows of the Disney franchise that many have tried and maybe one or two actually have succeed in doing. In the movie Gomez really does not changed as she is a devoted Christian that get their money for the trip by her friends holding up a restaurant as she sits driving a car that they got "borrowed" from a professor that does not know about. When they get to St. pete's she is talking with her grandma and saying how get it is and that they should come down together next year while the visuals of bobbies and drinking is shown. When her and her four fiends end up in jail and then get bailed out by a sleazy but not so bright con man played by James Franco Gomez immediately says I want out and is on the first bus back to college. At that point Gomez should just move on and count her money because the movie was not for her attendance and really did not help her and not time she needs to find a better character to play and not be the center of attention and maybe just like her choice of moving away from the soon-to-be train wreck known as Justin Bieber it will be a great choice. So I hope that Selena becomes the next Shia LaBeouf's who got out of the shadows of Disney's Even Stevens by being apart of Disturbia and then getting the job of a lifetime in the Transformers movie. Instead of the next Vanessa Hudgens who has gone from the Fame of High school Musical to being apart of this movie and getting out out just before the sex scenes start by being shot and sent on the next buss back to college where she wonders if she will ever be an adult star and it has already been 5 years since the end of the music. The movie in the end was supposed to be a drama but Franco and his guns turn it into a comedy enough said Tom Mehegan

Johny Hendricks wants GSP in Canada

Johny Hendricks gave Carlos Condit all he could handle by taken Condit a tremendous 11 times in the 15 minute match that went the distance and Hendricks won an unanimous decision. Still Condit was still able to get up time after time and Condit on his feet went blow for blow with the stronger Hendricks who tried to knock Condit out and is unable to do so and he ends up likely breaking his left hand on the cage a couple of times according to Hendricks. The last part is even more surprising when Hendricks at the end of the fight Hendricks said that he wanted GSP back here in 5 month mostly meaning Canada because it is unlikely to go right back to Montreal so Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. He then said if that does not work he will find a ref and come to GSP and they can figure and a way to settle it and Hendricks coming into the match got cheered and at the end Condit was cheered at the end and Hendricks as the No. 1 contender for the light heavyweight championship. It was the hands down fight of the night and they got a standing O from the crowd after each and every round of the match. GSP dominated Nick Diaz from start to finish and in GSP style it went the distance and GSP took the match 50-45 and after the match he thanked Diaz for hyping the fight after the match and now GSP has a decision to make between fighting Anderson Silva at a catch weight or Johny Hendricks for the title. In the end Dana White will have a say in the matter especially if he can get his hands on Cowboy stadium in mid til late August before the NFL season starts up he would do everything in his power to get Silva and GSP to put their names on a contract as both WWE and UFC are fighting to get into the Stadium as it sits over 100,000 fans. If they can not get the stadium then it would be the title fight between GSP and Hendricks Tom Mehegan

Nick Diaz says that GSP is not tested by the UFC

Nick Diaz after driving GSP nuts at the press conference for UFC 158 today was asked to talk on Toronto's Sportsnet 590, the fan to talk with the Tim and Sid show and he came on and was introduced and then he simple went off for 5-10 minutes. During this time he rambled on about how Dana White talked about how George wanted to fight Nick and Nick did not believe it and he talked about how Americans wanted to be knocked out and that UFC and George are making him out to be a bad guy and the reality is that he is just a guy fighting and that he wishes that he did not have to fight. When he was actually asked a question it was do U really think GSP on steroids and Nick said that he was on a number of Steroids and that he is not tested and if he was he would a bottle of pee in his pocket (clean pee) and that the UFC is not wanting to have their Canadian poster boy have a dirty test just like with Lance Armstrong. When asked if Nick could guarantee that he would come up clean if tested and he said that could not because he might test positive for marijuana and it simple something he needs to do to put food on his family's plates and if he did not have to do it he would not be fighting but it is the way he can make a good living. The interview would be on the main page of the Fan 590 homepage or the 3 o'clock hour of the show for March 14,2013 @ fan590.ca/timandsid podcast or on itunes @ timandsid for March 14,2013 and it was the about 15 minutes into the 3 o'clock hour Tom Mehegan

NHL teams struggling for fans and the Leafs roll along

So the NHL attendance is sinking like a stone in the weaker markets like Florida, Islanders, Blue Jackets, Panthers, and even now the Avalanche is joining the ranks of the not drawing flies. For the players this means that they will have to put aside even more of their hard earned money to help the weaker sisters of the league because they have been putting money aside to help balance the books and it has not been enough. But look on the bright side the revenue will go up next season as the Leafs have decided to raise their ticket prices by 2.5% for next season as everything is rosy down on Bay street as the owners will get richer and richer but for the fans they get stepped on and spat at once again. This is because the Leafs still are 8.5 mil under the cap and still struggling to stay in the playoff picture with miss mash of talent and the factors of the ownership, tam performance, and the local media are scaring away the better players like Nash, Stamkos, and even Travers have no interest in coming to the big smoke as they would rather stay in a big American market or a sunny vacation spots where the media is much less interested in them than in Toronto. The Leafs being able to raise prices without positive results will be a great example that they will never ever allow another team to locate to the city because competition would lose them a large part of their fan base which would put a dent in their profits. This means that the hopes and dreams of Markham getting an expansion team is never ever going to happen even though I would love it because it would hurt the leafs and not hurt the Sabres. Hurting the Sabres would be a bad thing because if a team goes to lets say Hamilton it would help the renues for one team and the Sabres would become one of those weaker sisters.
