60TH Grey Cup Saskatchewan Roughriders Vs Hamilton Ti-Cats
60Th Gray Cup was played at Ivor Wynne Stadium between the Saskatchewan Roughriders who faced the hometown squad the Hamilton Ti-Cats and the game was tied @ 10 @ halftime and it was still tied @ 10 with two minutes left in the game. Just like almost every other time for the Riders and their passionate fans it was Riderville that fell apart as Chuck Ealey found Hall of Famer Tony Gabriel three straight time to move down the field from their own 15 to the Riders 41 yard line after not being targeted the first 58 minutes of the game. On the last play of the game Ian Sunter kicked a 34-yard winning field goal and was named the Canadian MVP of the 60TH Grey Cup and Chuck Ealey who had 291 yards and was 18 of 29 with a TD and two interceptions and was named Grey Cup MVP in a Ti-Cats 13-10 victory to be the first team to be able to win a cup on their home turf. Ron Lancaster for the Saskatchewan Roughriders went 20 of 29 for 239 yards with a TD and two interception while Riders running back George Reed had 93 yards on the ground.
This Grey Cup was in the middle of 11 straight Western Final for the Roughriders between 1966 (Green Riders first ever Grey Cup victory) to 1976 when Tony Gabriel (then when with the Black Riders) on the last minute of the game scored a TD from Tom Clements to win the 64TH Grey Cups 23-20.
It was just another heartbreaking lose for the beloved Roughriders
