I thought that I could of been writing this post last week when the Canucks were up 3-0 and the Blackhawks held in it extra time in game 7 and only made the playoffs because the Dallas Stars did not show up for a win and get in game.
The down fall for the future of the Blackhawks happened when the team forgot to send out 8 qualifying offers to Restricted Free Agents in the Summer of '08 where the offers needed to mailed by June 30 and the then Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon said that they had been sent out before the deadline but it turned out it had not been so the 8 Restricted Free Agents who were Cam Barker, Kris Versteeg, Corey Crawford, Ben Eager, Colin Fraser, Troy Brouwer, Aaron Johnson and Bryan Bickell were supposed to become free agents. Which means that all 8 players would of been able to sign with any team and have the chance of max money which is 20% of the salary cap but the Blackhawks quietly signed all 8 Restricted Free Agents including given both Cam Barker and Kris Versteeg to 3 year and 9 million dollar deal which is most likely quite a bit more than a RFA would get because RFAs do not usually get contract offers from other teams because the players current team can match it or the team giving the contract offer has to give up first round draft picks and are scared to give up the draft picks. So all in all signing these players for more than they needed to advance the time that the Blackhawks would be able to keep all their players without going over the salary cap and it created an one and done scenario chasing the cup which they won last season and then had to almost immediately start moving out players to stay under the salary like Kris Versteeg being shipped to Toronto, Dustin Byfuglien, Ben Eager, Brent Sopel to the Atlanta Thrashers, Colin Fraser to Edmonton, and Antti Niemi got a 2.75 million dollar arbitration settlement that the Black Hawks could not afford and had to walk away from the settlement and Niemi became a free agent and signed with San Jose.
The blame has to start the Blackhawks president John McDonough who did not simply get along with Dale Tallon who was there before him as he had been with the organization for more than 30 years but when owner Bill Wirtz pasted away and his sons took over the team and brought in McDonough to become the president of the Blackhawks. McDonough when trying to throw cold water on the idea that he and Tallon did not see eye to eye he said "I think that within a period of time, Dale and I worked very, very effectively together. There were certainly times I would have liked to see smoother and better communications" which means they butted heads a couple of times. Dale Tallon should of made sure the person that was supposed to put the qualifying offers in the mail did it and that person would most likely be the assistant GM Stan Bowman who has a finance background should of known that the contracts needed to be in the mail and should of got it down and made sure the packages had the date on them when he express mailed them. McDonough did explain that it was a communication breakdown and that they will need to have better communication throughout the organization and in the end he said it all his fault because he the one running the team.
The reason that they had to overpay for the players is because the agents would just wait for Free Agency to happen and get the big deal and it is clear that the NHL Players Association filed a grievance basically declaring that all 8 players are unrestricted free agents and should be able to test the free agent market and the signings quieted the NHLPA compliments.
The end result is that it looks like McDonough and Stan Bowman Sabotage the Blackhawks chances to continuously compete for the Stanley Cup like the Pittsburgh Penguins who still have their core of players still even though they started rebuilding their team before the Blackhawks did. The reason for the Sabotage is clear which is that they wanted to have Stan Bowman as the Hawks GM instead of Dale Tallon which is simply crazy as why would u not just wait for Tallon's contract to be up and then replace him with Stan Bowman and more of the core of the hawks would still be with the team.
So in the end sabotaging your own business is not a very smart decision

Brandon Marshall hospitalized while wife is arrested in a domestic dispute
So early this morning Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall was hospitalized with a stab wound to his stomach and his wife Michi Nogami-Marshall has been arrested as she used a kitchen knife against Marshall and she is being held on 7,500 bond after a guy who identified himself as Brandon phoned police and then hung up. Brandon Marshall has been put in the critical care unit but has no vital organs damaged and will make a full recovery within a month and his wife has stated that she used the knife in self defense. Brandon Marshall has been a target of violence before as he was the target of the drive by shooting that killed his Denver Broncos than team-mate Darrent Williams on January 1, 2007 after Brandon Marshall had altercation with a crisps gang member @ a nightclub party thrown by Denver Nuggets Kenyon Marshall of the NBA. He lost most of his 2008 season when he was horse playing with a family member and his arm went through a TV and he found his way out of Denver when a local newscast aired a piece were he punted a ball instead of handing it to a ball boy and swatting balls instead of catching them which got him suspended by the team and then sent to Miami.
So said that she stabbed him in self defense and he said that he had slipped and fell on the broken glass of a vase but no blood was found near the vase so this is a clear case of he said, she said and Michi Nogami-Marshall has been charged with aggressive battery with a deadly weapon and the couple were hesitant to comment on the incident to the police.
This case looks like his wife may have found out about some things he probably should of not been doing or that he got made at something she did and attacked her and the knife was just handy.
When all the info comes to life it is going to get weird and Marshall maybe suspended by the NFL before the next regular season starts for this incident

The Green man in Vancouver missed the game and the Canucks are hurting going back to United Center
The Chicago Blackhawks who sat in the penalty box had it easy as the Green Man did not go to the game last night as Duncan Keith had 4 point a game with 2 goals and 2 assists in a 5-0 Blackhawks victory as Roberto Luongo gave up 4 goals on 12 shots in 21:15 of game time and Cory Crawford made all 36 saves against the Vancouver Canucks shooters. This also comes two days after the Canucks mailed in after Duncan Keith scored his second goal of the series @ 5:35 of the second period and gave the BlackHawks a 3-1 lead and a 7-2 demolishing victory for the Blackhawks and was the second goals in 17 seconds which started a 11-1 run in 94:25 of game time that has turned the series on its head.
It looks like Roberto Luongo will be in the net on Sunday Night @ United Center against the Chicago Balckhawks and the Vancouver Canucks are going to be grasping their sticks even tighter and the saw dust will be falling onto the ice surface and Roberto will need to have a game where he stands on his head and the defense will have to be a lot more solid than they have been last few games. Also the Canucks will need to get a player in front of the net to distract Cory Crawford as they have been getting shots on net but Cory Crawford been rock solid in the last 2 games as he have been saving 57 of the 59 shots that the Canucks has thrown at him.
Sadly it does not look very good for the Canucks going into Sunday's game

Sharks need to get tougher before they get separated for good while Ilya Bryzgalov needs to better Jimmy Howard
The San Jose Sharks is a country club with their players are way to comfortable during the playoffs and they need to stop being the San Jose diving team as they dive all the time and are more concerned about being on the power play and not driving the net and putting pressure on Johnathan Quick and get goals. The Sharks need to get someone in front of the net so that instead of moving the puck on around the boards and if they want to have Dan Boyle shooting the puck on the net from the point it be smart if someone was right in front of Quick so can not see it coming and the Sharks would have more goals than they have in the first 2 games. If the Sharks do not get tougher and fight harder for position and the puck and not make it hard for Quick to see the puck they will be separated and will be heading to different teams like maybe Joe Thornton, Danny Heatley, Patrick Marleau, Dan Boyle maybe traded out of the country club if they do not get past the first round and may not be safe except if they get to the conference final or get into the Stanley Cup final.
Ilya Bryzgalov of the Phoenix Coyotes is going to be one of the two biggest free agent on July 1St along with Brad Richards but Ilya Bryzgalov has had a very strange beginning to the playoffs by given up 4 goals in the first 2 games. So he needs to come up with the key saves especially early in the game and maybe his defense can be more tougher with the Red Wings forwards and try to keep the game low scoring and how Jimmy Howard a former AHL goalie for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Islander along with playing most this season with Red Wing AHL team. So it is very surprising that Jimmy Howard is out performing Ilya Bryzgalov so far in this series and the Phoenix Coyotes need to pressure Howard and make it harder for him to see the puck coming at him and home ice maybe the best thing for the Coyotes right now.

TSN radio has picked up a former Sportsline host and a Fan 590 Alumni to fill out their solid lineup
Jim Tatti is back on the airwaves as apart of the TSN radio 1050 starting lineup as an evening host on a show called "Game Night" and he is best known for being on Global sportsline for years when there was no such thing as a half an hour sports recap shows like there is now. For the last while he has been in real estate along with teaching young broadcasters the ropes at Mohawk College along with his own business called Jim Tatti Media Services Inc. and he will be co-hosted by Scott MacArthur, a sports talk show host formerly of Ottawa's the Team 1200.
Game Night with Jim Tatti and Scott MacArthur is a Monday - to - Friday from 7 to 11 PM and it is based on the ESPN Radio shows like NFL Sunday where they have correspondence at games and check in with them periodically throughout the game and it will be better when they get the bugs out of their phone lines as they are having trouble hearing the correspondence on the line. They also take clips from TSN TV program like Off the Record and like post game comments from coaches and players from games earlier evening or from last night.
Also TSN Radio has brought in Fan 590 alumni Mike Hogan who will be doing the Saturday broadcast from 11 AM to 7 PM keeping up with the days stories and updating games in progress throughout the busy Saturday in sports and he will have Matt Cauz who is best known as the producer and sometimes host of Casino Rama Grill Room which ended at the end of 2010. The show will be called TSN 1050 Game Day and it will be interesting because the two of them are very knowledgeable about a number of sports and also with TSN Radio picking up Argo football Mike Hogan will continue being the announcer for the games which he is extremely good at.

Phoenix Coyotes most likely moving back to Winnipeg and lets hope its just the beginning
The Phoenix Coyotes deal to stay in the Phoenix with Matt Hulsizer and the City of Glendale given him something like 116 Mil to keep the team afloat has fallen apart especially because taxpayers watchdog Goldwater Institute. So today on the Fan 590 at the beginning of the war with TSN radio had Nick Kipros and Doug McLean said that right after the Coyotes get eliminated from the playoffs the NHL will announce that the Coyotes will be heading back to Winnipeg and turning back into a Jet. Bill Daily said after hearing this report "the league remains focused on completing a sale that would keep the team in Arizona" and that there is no timetable has been set on making a decision of if the Coyotes are moving back to Winnipeg.
The biggest problem with Winnipeg is that they need a new stadium and that there is no corporate money in Winnipeg but in Phoenix the only money they have is the NHL's money as the NHL somehow/someway is supporting the team which means the top teams like the Leafs, Bruins, Rangers, and Detroit are bascially taken out of pocket and will at some point say enough is enough because even though they all make buckets of money they will not like to be supporting worthless teams who can not even come close to making money or breaking even. So Winnipeg will fill the stands and will be able to get a lot closer to the cap floor without losing as much money and if there are less teams like the Coyotes because they are diffidently not the only one (Dallas Stars, Atlanta Thrashers, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightening, Carolina Hurricanes, and more) the league as a whole would be a lot stronger and the salary cap all in all would be higher so that there would be less players but they would make more money. Also NHL teams will be in places that love hockey like Saskatchewan and southern Ontario and it really is a pipe dream that the NHL will get a big bucks US broadcasting deal as it will never happen and if teams move out of the US there will still be plenty of US teams and cities that would love to be apart of the New Years Day Classic which is the only NHL hockey the US watches. So in the end the best idea is for the NHL to move a couple of teams to Canada and than fold maybe 6 teams at least to bring it to back to 24 teams and have like an original 6 division with Chicago, Detroit, Montreal, Boston, Toronto in one division.
Gary Bettman do the right thing and take hockey out of places that do not care for it

TSN radio has set its schedule and Sportsnet Radio Fan 590 brings back an old friend
So TSN radio has found its afternoon drive host in James Cybulski & Company which will be similar to Sportsnet Radio the Fan 590's Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown as James will have a co-host as National Post's Bruce Arthur and Bob McCown has former Star sports columnist Damon Coxs and Stephen Brunt share the duty Monday to Friday. The Company in James Cybulski & Company refers to him having lots of TSN experts like during the playoffs he will have Bob McKenzie and Pierre McGuire on almost everyday and as it is also baseball season he will most likely have Dan Shulman on and then have a Jack Armstrong spot on the show because of the NBA playoffs beginning. He will look at the top stories of the day and find someone that can talk about the story maybe even involving ESPN analysis as TSN and ESPN are partners.
Sportsnet the Fan 590 has brought back a old favorite in the hammerhead himself Stormin' Norman Rumack as the Fan 590 lost ESPN radio overnight so they decided to bring back Stormin' Norman Rumack to do late nights on Sunday and Monday from Midnight to 5:00 AM which is an interesting choice as he is not very call friendly as he just repeats the same thing over and over again and it does not give people the chance to get on the Radio but sometimes he has different guests which can be interesting. So the Fan has put former producer turned radio host Jeff Sammut into the overnight slot from Tuesday to Saturday and he is different then most hosts and may come up with some interesting ideas and he looks at whats on twitter too.
So here is the lineup for TSN Radio compared to Sportsnet Radio Fan 590
The Morning Shows
TSN has brought Mike Richards back from Calgary to host their morning show and is coming with a lot of fan fair and will start on TSN 2 on TV in September and he will go up against Sportsnet Fan 590's Greg Brady and Jim Lang who get along well and they try to get different guests but in the end Mike Richards will take them to the cleaner.
The show after the Morning show
TSN Radio will probably start with ESPN Radio while Sportsner Radio has Jeff Blair who is a sports columnist for the Globe & Mail and he tries to get to the bottom of the top stories of the day so far and lets the callers talk about the stories of the day so it will depend if people will want the US point of view or the Canadian point of view and right now I do not know.
Hockey Lunch
So Steve Kouleas will be doing the hockey story for TSN Radio with his that's hockey 2night stuff of side-kicks and experts while Sportsnet Radio has Darren Millard along with Nick Kypreos and Doug MacLean so I think that TSN Radio may have a better hockey program.
Afternoon Show
TSN Radio had Jim Rome and his e-mails and couple of guests compared to Andrew Krystal who lets the worst ideas out of his mouth and he can not stop his potty mouth so with Jim Rome being a big name and Krystal a huge no name Jim Rome will win.
Drive home Show
TSN Radio has James Cybulski & Company and Sportsnet Radio has Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown and PTS is on TV and is a huge Canadian program and should be the hands down winner of this spot.
Evening Programming
TSN will probably have some programming involving hockey right now either a live scoreboard or hockey games on the radio while Sportsnet Radio will have Blue Jays Baseball most nights so if the Blue Jays are competitive than they will get better numbers than TSN radio programming.
Overnight
TSN's ESPN Radio will be tough to beat but if Sportsnet Radio's Jeff Sammit is creative than he may have a chance and I really don;t know how Norm Rumack will do because he may not be able to change with the times and maybe left on the side of the road again,
TSN Radio 1050 will be coming on Wednesday

Bob Whipper Watson is heading into his retirement as the best Lacrosse Goalie ever
Bob "whipper" Watson is going to play his final regular season game @ the ACC in his 13 years with the Toronto Rock and he will be playing at least one more game @ home after this one because the Rock are guaranteed a home playoff game which will either be the divisional semi-final or divisional final and it will depend as the winner of the game Vs Buffalo Bandits on Friday will host the divisional final. Bob Watson has won over 100 games in his 15 years in the National Lacrosse League and is second all-time in most saves and has won 5 championship and was named championship's cup MVP and has been named the goalie of the year twice. So this decision was made at the beginning of the season and unlike most professional athletes his decision was made because of his new job which is being a police officer in Waterloo, Ontario as players in the National Lacrosse League make at most 25-30 thousand a season so every player needs to either have another job which they do during the week or they are students in College/University. Coming down the stretch of the regular season he is still in consideration for the regular season MVP as he has put up incredible numbers this season as he is making 8 saves of every 10 shots faced and has a 9.56 goals against a game which is a small bit behind the leader and is 10-3 on the season.
Bob is 41 years old and played a season with the Baltimore Thunder and then came to the Rock organization starting in 1998 with the Ontario Raiders who played in Hamilton, Ontario @ Copps Colosseum and then they were moved down the road to Toronto and got a name changed to the Rock and moved into Maple Leaf Gardens and then into the ACC after it opened. He has basically been the only starting goalie for the Rock over the past 14 seasons in the National Lacrosse League and did get hit in the eye with a lacrosse ball during his season with the Ontario Raiders when a ball slipped through apart of his mask and shattered my orbital bone and broke my nose and collapsed the eye down and it has had a little bite of an effect on him as has a hard time seeing certain shots.

Charlie Sheen stand-up bombed and what to do with him next
Charlie Sheen started his 20 city tour on Saturday in Detroit where he had two girls kissing while he had a top heavy lady sing the anthem and showed a lot of videos like a song with Snoop dog called "winning" and a video of him playing call of duty and he was booed off the stage while others walked out. People were paying up to 300 dollars a seat and people in Detroit are worse off then most cities in America as they were totaled by the automobile market just hit rock bottom and I know that people from Ontario and people from around north america trying to get to the original showing of this comedy stand-up tour. He is charging 20 dollar program and 30 dollar T-Shirt ("F---ing Brilliant!" and "I'm on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen").
So here is the thing about Charlie Sheen has basically been on TV all this century starting with taking over from Michael J Fox on Spin City in 2000 and then after a year of TV he came back in 2003 to start the comedy Two and a half men that lasted at least until 2011. He also picked up a paycheck of 1.8 million an episode so he has the money to do whatever he wants and nobody can stop him and anybody who felt that the Charlie Sheen concert was going to comedy like two and a half men or spin city or hot shots were foolish because it was only the kind of things he did in all of his videos. So basically it was a drugged up alcoholic who just speaks him mind also known as not making sense and it looks like Sheen is heading down a bad pass in-which it could end tragically with his death.
So I think the only thing to do with Charlie Sheen right now is to put him in a tall tower and lock him at the top of the tower and lock him in a room for a year or two where he would get food and water and thats all he would get. After this I would hope Charlie Sheen would have a better outlook on life and would hopefully get away from drug and alcohol problems and turn around his life and then can be the father he should be to his children because if he is as messed up as he is he may not be a very good father like his trip to NYC to spend time with his children from his relationship Denise Richards that this the mess that started all this when the porn star in the closet
Charlie Sheen please please fix up your life
