New York Rangers should start new without sather

So Glenn Sather who has done very little except the boss's and a lot of it in that since he joined the Rangers Organization in 2000 and it has been big contract and bust through out his time like a nice 35 and a quarter million to Chris Drury here and 39 million to Wade Redden there and then another 37.5 million to Marián Gáborík not to forget thr whapping 58.5 million to Brad Richards. These four guys the first three all on 5 year deals for one reason or another ended up retiring early (Drury), spend more time in the minors than in the NHL (Redden), and injured more often than healthy and then trade because he did not fit the team (Gáborík), Then there is sir Richards pn whapping 9 year deal and when the Rangers needed him the moat in the playoffs they could find him in the press box as he was a healthy scratch and the newest and the biggest was Rick Nash who was trade to the RANGERS for Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon and a 2013 first round draft pick who went to Columbus and it was close at times that Columbus would be msking it into the NHL playoffs for the second time in franchise history in the East and the Rangers out in the West, So with Nash just finishing his third year of a eight year deal paying him 63.4 million and him and the likes of Richards struggled wish 5 points for Nash and Richards a staggering one point and one of the best goalie's in the world Henrik Lundqvist behind them and with a little help he would take them a long way. Glenn Sather made a great draft pick in his first draft with the Rangers picking up King Henrik with the 205 pick in the 2000 draft but then not able to get dudes to put around him. So it diffidently time him to take a step back and let someone new come in and pick their own head coach and build differently because build in draft like the five teams still standing in the playoffs LA,Chiago,Detroit,Pittsburgh,Boston have make brilliant trades to become a cup contender. Lets also remember that building a team around the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Paul Coffey is pretty sim[le and winning win 5 Stanley Cups and he still living off those cups like Kevin Lowe is trying to do in Edmonton Tom Mehegan

Patrick Roy named Avs head coach and let the sound bites beginled bird

Avs hall of fame goalie Patrick Roy with his 4 Stanley cups (2 with avs and 2 with Montreal Canadiens)is he is heading back to Colorado to be the Avalanche to be the head coach at now it makes the Avs even more interesting than just having have the first overall pick in next month NHL draft. So people in Colorado are finding out about something call the memorial cup which is happening right now in my hometown of Saskatoon Saskatchewan that have the first two draft picks in the draft SETH JONES of the Portland Winter hawks and NATHAN MACKINNON of Halifax are in the tournament and both might face each other on Sunday in the finale if Portland beats LONDON . Back to Patrick Roy who will be starting his NHL career in October but it will not be the first time coaching as he coached Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Junior Hockey League and the memorial cup in '06 in his first season and that is when the fun began as he on January 19 '07 in Chicoutimi Quebec he punched the co-owner of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens Pierre Cardinal. Pierre Cardinal sued Roy but dropped it but the issue was far from over as Patrick's son Jonathan Roy a goalie with the Remparts against the Sagenuéens in a playoff game on March 22, 2008 during he was encouraged to go down and fight their goalie by good ol' dad and a defenseless goalie even after he was already lying on the ice and then double birds to the crowd as he left the ice and was suspended 7 games and dad was given 5 himself. Then on November 21, 2008 his other son Frederick Roy crossed checked his opponent in the face with his stick and was also suspended 15 games. So he causes trouble that's not all he gives lively post-game interviews and that may come in very handy as in New York the Tros and Brokies may come to a end when Bruins dispose of the Rangers and head coach John Tortorella gets fired the media will be looking to Patrick for the best sound bite of the night and he will give it to them, MAYBE A BAD BUT FUN SOUND BITES Tom Mehegan

WWE knight of the shield and I got to be with my look-a-like

As expected all three members of the shield walked out with more gold (1 piece each) than they came in with (nobody came in with any). It started with Dean Ambrose defeating Kofi Kingston for the US title with the biggest surprise of all was how they positioned the shield members tonight as they had both Seth Rollins nor Roman Reigns came to ringside to make it look like the shield were strong and did not need the outside interference for the victories. So Kofi could of kept the title as he did connect with a trouble in Paradise with Ambrose on the ring apron but outside of the ring and he fell to the floor and would of been counted out but Kofi wanted to pin him and got him back in the ring for a two count if that and soon after that Ambrose drove Kofi into the canvas for the three count. After the match Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns joined Ambrose in the ring to celebrate by having Ambrose on the other two's shoulders like Randy Orton on the shoulder of Bastista or Lex Luger on the shoulders of other wrestlers when he defeated Yokozuna. Later in the night Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns came down to the ring without Dean Ambrose and took on team Hell No who had held the titles for over 240 days and they took those titles away from team Hell No in a tornado match and it went back and forth until Kane was knocked out of the ring and the shield were able to take advantage of Bryant to win the title and probably end the team of Hell and No for a long while maybe after a rematch tomorrow night's Raw. At the end of the match Dean Ambrose joined them and they did the row of guys all holding up their title like look at what we have now and I do not know if they can make the invisible titles visible again but having them with the titles will show a very strong Trio of awesomeness and I hope that they keep them for a very long time until they figure out which one will win a heavyweight title. Another surprise was that Kaitlyn and A.J. did not fight and have that butterfly title around the right waist but instead they faught in the back with the Bellas just looking on and me and my look-a-like hanging out at the movie theater this show did more to liven up the show than those Bellas. It is awesome to hang out with my look-a-like because he is so awesome Tom Mehegan

Maple Leafs have important decisions to make

After a horrible end to the season where it looked like Trot and Brookie where heading to Toronto and bring their side show with them for game one and two at the Air Canada Centre one minute. The next it is how the bleep did that Bruins team that could not score into Lake Ontario with the man advantage in the regular season end up scoring two goals in 30 seconds with the extra man. So in the end they did Chara in front of Reimer and two got through both of them and the Leafs started thinking about what to do in the off season at least a couple weeks early if not more than a month (Eastern Conference final or #Stanley). So they do have decisions to make and for me as an outsider they look easy: 1. Nazem Kadri the guy who will turn 23 at the beginning of next season needs a contract and he will get one and a long one (4 or 5 years) at a great price for him (3 to 4 mil) and then let Leaf fans start ripping him apart like Jake Gardner or Luke Shienn; 2. James Reimer, the 25-year-old, who got over thankfully his concussion and yes Burke that is what it bleeping was will also need a new deal and will get the same kind of money with probably less term (likely 3 years). 3. Tyler Bozak, the 27-year-old free agent, will be able to choose what he wants so if he wants to stay he will get some money but if he wants it all he will find it elsewhere and the Leafs can find someone to do his job at the right price. 4. Phil Kessel, the 26-year-old at the beginning of the next season and the lighten rode of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be a free agent in 13 and a half month and if it is me I would find away to keep him with the team as he is consistent player and will put up 30 plus goals and the only question I have is will he put up with Toronto. He will get whatever he wants from the Leafs but some nice cozy places that do not ask as much from him than Toronto will give him close to the same money but a max deals only gets him to 34 years old (8 seasons) not bad compared to whats out there. 5. Dion Phaneuf, 28-year-old one-way Defense man, will be a free agent at the end of next season and if his last contract season of 60 points in '07-'08 he is keeper until the trade deadline because get as much out of his great upcoming season and then dump him because his non-contract season do not come even close. So lets hope the Leafs are smart and do not listen to the fans and do not sign him to an extension otherwise it is Bryan McCabe all over again. 6. Mikhail Grabovski and his contract of 4 more seasons of a cap hit of 5.5 mil is the Leafs version of Vernon Wells and it is best to find a team (southern Florida) that will need a cap hit of 5.5 mil to get to a salary cap floor. Take it eaz Leaf fans Tom Mehegan

Tiffany Alvord 5 years of cover songs

the 20-year-old Californian lady named Tiffany Alvord today is celebrating 5 years of cover songs on youtube and she started with a computer camera in her house it looks like and it all started with stop and stare by one republic on May 15,2008. She has like over 60 cover songs from the likes of Carly Ray Jepsen, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and a lot more and so of them are even better than the original artists version. After a while she started making music videos for songs like Taylor Swift's Never ever going to get back together and then she put out her own original music like "so alive", "Never Been Better", "This is just the start" for a million subscribers and now at 1.3 million, and "My Heart is" along other original songs. She got to perform at Time Square in New York on New Years Eve 2012 and performed on the same stage as some of the artists that she has covered like Taylor and Carly Ray Jepsen and her version Jepsen "this kiss" was so Popular that it got her on that stage and she also performed "My heart is" She has made a bit of a following but unlike the little bit younger Megan Nicole of is also a youtube cover artist is not signed to record label like Nicole who is signed to Diddy's Bad boy records. She has done covers with the likes of Nicole, Jason Chan, and Allstar Weekend along with others and is in the top 50 most subscribers and she has followed in Justin Bieber's footsteps and her time my come and she maybe able to put out a full album. She is still putting all her songs on itunes and is making the kind of money that most 20 year-old's could only dream of. Maybe soon she will take her talents to the next level with a record label on her side Tom Mehegan

Roy Halladay at a cross roads

Roy Halladay who turned 36 years old today is a cross roads in his major league baseball career and will go under the knife tomorrow to remove bone spurs along with a frayed labrum along with partially torn rotator cuff in his pitching shoulder. He will be trying to get back from this this season and with his hard work ethics and will do everything in his powers to do so. Ry Halladay has 201 wins in his career and is 99 away from that magical number of 300 wins and what looked like a good shot to get to that number and maybe become one of the last 300 winner is looking more like a distant fog with no end in sight. So the reality is that he will need to find Roger Clemons fountain of youth because he will need at least 6 solid seasons of 15-17 wins and it will take him into his mid-forties and all that is not a guarantee at all as players break more the older they get. With the more pitchers starting with 5 and 6 man rotations it will be much harder year after year with 6 or 7 inning outings and putting your victories in the hands of the bullpen it diffidently get harder season after season to reach that number. Now with pitchers going down on a regular basis and teams babying their pitchers a consent 15-17 game winner not be easy to find and it would take almost 20 seasons at that pace to get there. But if anyone can find that fountain it is the good doctor Tom Mehegan

Big E to replace Ziggler at extreme rules

Dolph Ziggler who is the Smackdown world champ but he has a problem as last Tuesday May, 14 during the Smackdown taping Ziggler was in the ring with Jack Swagger and sadly Swagger forgot how strong he is and he injured Ziggler's brain as he has a concussion and does not remember anything until Big E and AJ put him on a plane home on Wednesday. So in the end with a week before a ladders match that was supposed to highlight all of Ziggler's talents and he has not been cleared of effects of the concussion which puts the ladder match into a No. 1 contender match for the title and if they do not add anything it will be Swagger and Del Rio. But to add so more drama for next Sunday's Extreme Rules with Big E being put into the match and if he wins he gets a shot at the title and the drama may boost the low interest for the event. Reyback/Cena has been killed by too much talking by the Reyback and Paul Heyman has built up the interest for the Lesner/Trips for Lesner's victory next Sunday but trips dead panned the whole and killed a lot of buzz from the high rating segments of Heyman/Lesner in Stanford, Connecticut. It will be a very disappointing event after a long 6 week wait for it Tom Mehegan

The two biggest Leafs fans I know

Living in Toronto I know a like of Leafs fans but two of them are more loyal than the rest of them. The first is a guy named Frank who I have known for a decade and is the most craziest Leaf fan and has been very quiet for a few years with the Leafs sucking so bad but not bad enough to get good draft picks. This was until Wednesday night when the Leafs finally broke their 9 year of dried up non-playoffs and he went home Wednesday night and had a big bowl of pasta before putting on his Leafs pjs and sat down in front of his TV with his Leaf blanket to watch the Leafs play the Bruins and I could hear him miles and miles away when the Leafs went up 1-0 a minute into the first period. By the end of the game that the Bruins won 4-1 Frank was hiding behind his couch and asking his wife to turn the game off and she just kicked the TV remote towards him and told him do it yourself. The other big Leaf fan that I know is a guy named Wesley who I have known for over three decades and fell asleep as he fell asleep in his comfy red car five minutes into the game as the Leafs were up 1-0 still. When he woke up after the game he found out that the Leafs lost 4-1 he stomped around the house for a couple of hours while his wife just put ear plugs in her ears and pulled her sheets over her head until she finally fell asleep. Even though I no longer a leaf fan but wish that Leafs do well for the sack of all of the great fans the Leafs have but do not care about Tom Mehegan
