Tony La Russa has retired and Pujols most likely to test the market hard

Tony La Russa won 2728 games as a Manager and he only trails John McGraw who La Russa trails by 35 games and Connie Mack who is way ahead of everybody with 3,731 wins. La Russa has managed for the past 32 seasons in Major League Baseball as started with the Chicago White Sox in 1979 522 wins and then went directly to Oakland in '86 and won 798 games along with a World Series during the Bay area earthquake in '89 and then went directly to St. Louis in '96 where he won over half of his wins with 1408 and won both the 2006 and 2011 World Series. He is the winiest manager in Oakland A's history and the winiest manager of the St. Louis Cardinals which is one of the original baseball teams when Major League Baseball started with their regular schedule in 1901. He rep is a little bit better now than it was in Oakland in the late 80's and early 90's with those juiced up bash brothers i.e. Mark McGwire and José Canseco as that team a pain to listen to.

Even though he is 67 retirement age and did supposedly his best managing job getting Colby Rasmus out of town and bringing Edwin Jackson into town and bringing the Cardinals from like 10 and a half games out on August 25 and had played 130 games and in their last 32 games. They went 18 and 8 in September to erase a 8 and a half game deficit to the Atlanta Braves I believe that this maybe a sign that Albert Pujols is likely leaving because if La Russa had confidence that Pujols was staying he would probably be staying as well.

It would not surprise me if La Russa shows up somewhere and I do not know if right away but the only spring/summer he has had off in the past 32 years is the 1994 lost portion due to the labor issues and may not be able to just relax.

Kim Kardashian has ditched her bench warmer as she has filed for divorce

So 72 days after Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries put on a wedding spectacular that costed 10 million dollars to put on but do not worry the pictures of the spectacular brought the couple 17.9 million dollars so it nice little profit for the couple and most of it goes to miss Kardashian as not very many people are interested in the New Jersey Net bench warmer.

It sounds like miss Kardashian went back to LA to unpack recently after spending two month in the Big Apple while Mr. Humphries went to Minnesota to unpack as that is his home town and moved back home because it does not look like the NBA season will be starting soon. It sounds like Miss Kardashian really did not like the idea of living in Minnesota while she did like the idea that Mr. Hamphries was not doing anything productive with himself and he was just sitting on his butt. Also it looks like because Mr. Humphries is not making an income right now so they were having arguments about money so maybe Miss Kardashian was not happy about sharing her money with her husband as she has always be the bread winner and always be the bread winner so maybe she just did not realized the situation as well as she should of.

Miss Kardashian has gone out and gotten Brittney Spears divorce lawyer to help her try and retain very expensive items like her 20.5-carat diamond ring (worth 2 million dollars) along with earrings and accumulations" amassed before, during and after her marriage as separate property which would not be like cheap stuff.

Miss Kardashian when she filed for divorce she cited irreconcilable differences and said "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage., I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best." While Mr.Humphries was scammed by a wedding guest to their wedding named Andrey C. Hicks who has been running a 1.7 million dollar investment scam and Mr. Humphries was out hundred of thousands of dollar which has given him s huge financial headache that he is working with law enforcement authorities to fix the situation.

Mr. Humphries says he is willing to do what it takes to keep the marriage going while Miss Kardashian is heading immediately to Australia most likely for business.

A much better results for teams coming off bye weeks in the NFL as the Eagles destroy the Cowboys

In the first two weeks of teams coming off their bye week they are a combined 3 and 9 and then in the third week of coming off a bye they are over .600 this week with a 5 and 1 record:

Cowboys 7 - Eagles 33 The Eagles used the bye week to get focused on the rest of the season and came out of fire because every time I looked up the Eagles had the ball and were moving down the field and had smoked the Cowboys 24-0 in the first half and Mike Vick was 21 of 28 for 279 with two TDs as Brett Celek had 7 catches for 94 yards with a long of 22 yards while both Jason Avant and Jeremy Maclin had longs of 24 yards. LeSean McCoy went for 185 yards on 30 carries for the Eagles while the Cowboys did not have as good a game as last week because the Cowboys were down big quickly but still had 74 yards and only 8 carries with a long of 26 yards.

Patriots 17 - Steelers 25 : Ben Roethlisberger throw 36 of 50 for 365 yards with 2 TDs and the Steelers running game carried the ball 23 times for 98 yards and the Steelers were very effective keeping Tom Brady off the field holding on to the ball for 39 minutes of the game. They were 10 of 16 on third down completions and had 28 more offensive plays while Brady had racked up over 700 yards in the last two meetings and only had 198 yards passing with 2 TD and an interception and it was only the second time in his career that he has lost to the Steelers. The turning point in the game was when Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed a 42 yard field goal that would made 20-13 Steelers and the Steelers take the ball and drive the field for a field goal to make it 23-10 and Stephen Gostkowski had hit a 46 yarder earlier in the game.

Redskins 0 - Bills 23 for the first time in their four season experiment the Bills have won a regular season game in Toronto and hope it will vault them into the playoffs like it did when the Dolphins and Jets won in Toronto against the Bills. This game marked the first time that Mike Shannonham has been shutout in 158 games and strangely enough they went for it on fourth down with less than a minute to go instead of trying a 40 yard field goal. Freddie Jackson had 194 yards on the day on 26 carries for 120 and 3 receptions for 74 yards while the Redskins net offensive was 178 yards with 208 yards through the air but quarterback was sacked 9 times for a total loss of 52 yards and they only picked up 26 yards on the ground. Ryan Fitzpatrick went 21 of 27 for 262 yards with 2 TD and an interception while completing over 75% of his throws and also took a jarring plow from former Bill London Fletcher but did finish the game. On defense Marcell Dareus had 2.5 of the 9 sacks while George Wilson who would of rather had the game being played in Buffalo had 8 tackles and an assist to go with getting one of the two Bills interceptions but he is not the only one wishing the game was in Buffalo as Rogers communications who gave the Bills guaranteed money for all games in the T.O. series had to go into their pockets again and basically give tickets away just before kickoff and there were umpty seats still.

Browns 10 - Niners 20 After week off after hand shake gate Jim Harburgh's Niners boosted their record to 6-1 and basically have the NFC West locked up as the rest of the division is not very good and their game plan was very simply and it was to hand the ball to Frank Gore who carried an amazing 31 times and racked up 134 yards and with TD he has run for 125 yards plus and a TD in four consecutive games. While Alex Smith kept it simply as he went 15 of 24 for 177 yards through the air and 41 of those yards were picked up on a 41 yard Michael Crabtree while Nose Tackle Isaac Sopoaga recovered a fumble and free safety Dashon Goldson had an interception of Colt McCoy for the only two turnovers in the game but it was from a lack of trying Colt McCoy did fumble the ball 4 times and recovered it 3 times.

Dolphins 17 - Giants 20 Giants took almost the entire first half to get off their bye week as the Dolphins had a 14-3 late in the second quarter before Eli Manning put together a TD drive to cut it to 14-10 @ half and they took their only lead of the game with 6 minutes left in the game when Eli Manning hit Victor Cruz to seal the deal and give the Giants the 20-17 victory to stay on top of the NFC East. Eli was all they had offensively as he put the ball in the air 45 times and completed it 31 times for 345 yards and 2 TDs as Ahmad Bradshaw was 13 for 50 yards but was dinged up and had to leave the game to get X-rays done and bandaged up and came back into the game as Brandon Jacobs who was complaining about his touches during the bye week could not get the job done as he had 4 carries for 10 yards and missed a hand off early and had to just fall on the ball. Cruz was his favorite target as he caught 7 passes for 99 yards while Mathias Kiwanuka had 1.5 sacks of Matt Moore and Corey Webster had an interception of Moore who was very conservative with his passes as he was 13 of 22 for 138 yards including 20 yard reception to Brandon Marshall, 24 yards to Davone Bess, and 16 yards to Charles Clay. The real positive for the Dolphins is not that Tony Sparano house is still on the market or that Nick Saban's University of Alabama is in a prime time game as 1 and 2 in the nation faceoff but it is that Reggie Bush ran for over a hundred yards for the second time in his career and both have come against the Giants as he went off for 103 yards on 15 carries with a long of 35.

Seahawks 12 - Bengals 34 the Bengals keep rolling as they man handle the Seahawks as Andy Dalton throw two first half TDs and Brandon Tate ran back a punt for 56 yard TD to embarrass the Seahawks and gave the Bengals their fourth win in a row and Marvin Lewis 65 wins to become the winiest coach in Bengals history and he is probably just thankful no more drama. Andy Dalton had a simply passing game as he went 18 of 29 for 168 with his long being a beautiful pass to A.J. Green for a 43 yard TD reception while the running game with Bernard Scott ran 22 times for 76 yards. While the defense shortened the field with a Gibril Wilson fumble recovery of a Marshawn Lynch fumble and a Reggie Nelson interception of Tarvaris Jackson. Tarvaris Jackson who was 21 of 40 for 323 yards and both Ben Obomanu (107 yards) and Sidney Rice (102) were both over a 100 hundred yards receiving.

ROH is going to more successful than TNA in getting ppv buys

To start the WWE has a choke hold on the wrestling business as they need 100,000 buys for a pay-per-view to break even on the typical pay-per-view and they can almost do that with little to no attention to the actual event and they can almost have a pay-per-view like every three weeks and still break even. Of course when U get to the big 4 their costs are higher and they will need to reach a much higher number like closer 200,000 and for a WrestleMania they typical need at least 700 to 800 thousand buys to really be successful if not more and all this means is that if the WWE wants a wrestler they will get them with Sting being the only exception to the rule.

So ROH is going to have their first i pay-per-view Final Battle 2011 after getting on national network with Fox and their cousin stations on Friday December 23rd and even though it is positioned horribly as it is a Friday night and the kids just got out of school for two weeks and Christmas is two days away they will get more buys of this i pay-per-view than the ones that have come before them as way more can watch Fox than could every watch it on HDNet sorry Mark Cuban. It is getting a huge two month push on ROH TV and they have practically has the card written out already as Haas and Benjamin will face the Brisco brothers for the ROH tag team championship and the World champ Davey Richards already knows that he will be putting the title on the line against either Jay Lethal or Eddie Edwards but do not be surprised if it is decided to have it turn into a 3-way match and these are two of the three top matches on the card. The other match is a challenge from Roderick Strong to the world for anyone to come to Final Battle 2011 and of course it will be somebody new and it could be DELIRIOUS who is returning to ROH but it could be John Morrison / Johnny Nitro whose real name is John Hennigan whose contract is up shortly with the WWE and he has burned so many bridges that he is on his way out and his biggest mistake in the WWE was to refuse to work with Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 27 solely because he wanted his on again / off again real life girlfriend Melina Perez. The wild card in this situation is Samoa Joe whose contract could be up at that time and it looks like he will be leaving TNA and has worked in ROH before and with his disinterest in wrestling I think the WWE will not take a flyer on him.

While TNA loses money on pay-per-views for the most part as they only get 10 to 15 thousand buys regularly for their pay-per-view events and their high water mark all time is 35 thousand for the 2010 Bound for glory pay-per-view and after 2011 Bound for glory showcased Hogan Vs Sting and a very big push for Robert Rodd going after the title only got 23 thousand. TNA is more interested in TV ratings than the PPV buys and it shows when they build the end of the ppv so people watch the next Thursday TV when it is supposed to be the other way around with TV driving the ppv interest.

So on December 23Rd ROH iPPV which is only 15 bucks on ROH.com and will probably be available all the following week on their website and as it is through the internet instead of through the TV they will be taken in almost 100% of the sales and their costs are very low because their wrestlers make way less than wrestlers in the WWE and even less than most of the TNA talent. Also with it being 15 instead of 45 for TV pay-per-views it is way more affordable for a customer to buy the event and I would not be surprised if they get over 10 thousand buys for 2011's final battle.

ROH is the best wrestling show on TV right now

Ryan Fitzpatrick has come from humble beginnings and with his new contract hopes to lead the bills to bigger and better things

Ryan Fitzpatrick a Harvard graduate has come from very humble beginnings as he was drafted in the seventh round of the 2005 by the St. Louis Rams and he is the quickest player to finish the Wonderlic test which is a pre-draft quiz in which he almost got a perfect score of 50 and got a score of 48 instead. His career started his career in the eleven game and came in the second quarter and the Rams were down 24-3 and throw for 310 yards and three TDs and the Rams won in overtime 33-27 but then fell apart and only started the next three games before being pulled and after another season on the bench he was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals and played every other game as Carson Palmer was injured. This stint in Cincinnati gave the Buffalo Bills the confidence to sign Fitzpatrick to a 3 year deal worth 7.4 million dollars and he helped the Bills beat the Jets 16 - 13 in overtime after starter Trent Edwards left with an injury and then he was named the starting quarterback heading week 11 and finished the season as the starter and finished with 1422 yards through the air with a 55.9 % completion and had 9 TD and 10 INT. In the 2010 season before week 3 he was named starter and Trent Edwards was released and Fitzpatrick throw for 3000 yards and throw 23 TD and 15 int and 8 of his 13 starts he completed over 60 % and was 3 and 9 but lost three games in overtime on a field goal and lost another game by 3 points so the team looked promising going into the 2011 season. So then in 2011 through 6 games the bills are 4 and 2 and have been in every game so far as they have lost their only two games so far by a field goal in the last 2 minutes of the game as the Bengals won on the last play of the game and the Giants only left 92 seconds on the clock when they kicked the game winning field goal which came off of an over throw by Fitzpatrick deep in Giants territory in a tied game. While Fitzpatrick has brought the team back to life in other games by coming up with lots of second half points to take care of deficits and has completed just short of 2/3 of his passes (66.3) and has only completed under 60% in the Cincinnati game this season and has passed for 1477 yards and 12 TDs to 6 INTs in the first 6 games.

So with all that said Ryan Fitzpatrick is about to sign a 6 year and 59 million dollar contract with 24 million guaranteed and this is for a guy who is being paid just over 3 million dollars this season and in his own words has said "I think we've got this thing headed in the right direction. So to be a part of that, and to be able to continue to be a part of that for years to come, I'm really excited about it."

So the job is not done yet for Fitzpatrick and the Bills who not seen the playoffs since the music city miracle on January 8, 2000 but at least Fitzpatrick is the first Bills quarterback to receive a contract extension since Doug Flutie in '99 and the Bills are hopeful that Fitzpatrick can get back to the playoffs.

Lets see how if this contract works out for both Fitzpatrick and the bills

The Twins beat the Braves twenty years ago today to win their second title in 5 seasons in a 1-0 ten inning game

20 years ago today my mom turned 48 years old and Game 7 of the 1991 World Series was played between Tom Kelly's Minnesota Twins and Bobby Cox's Atlanta Braves and one of the most amazing thing about this match up was that the season before both teams were worst in their division as the Twins had been 74 and 88 while the Braves were even worst at 65 and 97.

Then U get to the game it was Jack Morris for the Twins and John Smoltz for the Braves and the game went to extra innings scoreless but both teams had a chance each before the eighth as the Twins had a Dan Gladden double that was sac flied to third by Chuck Knoblauch but Smoltz struck out hall of famer Kirby Puckett to end the bottom of the third inning. Then the Braves got Mark Lemke to third with one out as Rafael Belliard had a sac bunt and Lonnie Smith had a bunt single and the Braves had runners on the corner with solid all around player Terry Pendleton who had a .321 and 22 hrs and 86 RBIs at the plate and Ron Gant who was a big time slugger with 32 hrs and 105 RBIs and he was on deck so Jack Morris was in trouble but got Pendleton to pop up and then to strike out to end the top of the fifth. In the top of the eighth the Braves had Lonnie Smith on first with no outs and with Terry Pendleton at the plate the Braves but on a hit and run on and Pendleton delivered with a double into a gap in left center field and Smith probably would of scored but Greg Gagne the twins shortstop and Chuck Knoblauch the Twins second baseman acted like they were forcing Smith at second and caused Smith only to go to third. The Pendleton plate appearance was even more interesting as Pendleton on a 1 and 2 pitch looked to go through the plate and strike out but he applied to home umpire Don Denkinger said he fouled it off and he hit his double on the next pitch. With one out and the bases loaded and the slow Sid Bream at the plate who Jack Morris got to hit into a home to first double play to end the top of the inning and Bream only had 3 hits in the seven game series. In the bottom of the eighth and runners on the corners the Braves made the first move to the bullpen and brought in Mike Stanton to intentionally walk Puckett to load the bases with one out and Stanton then faced Kent Hrbek who he had the number on as he K'd the last three times he faced him and this time he lined out to Braves second baseman Mark Lemke who then stepped on second to force out Knoblauch to end the eighth inning. In the bottom of the ninth both Chili Davis (singled) and Brian Harper (bunt single) reached base and Mike Stanton was injured on Harper's bunt and Alejandro Peña came into pitch to Shane Mac who grounded into a double play and then he struck out Paul Sorrento to send it extras. Jack Morris refused to leave the game and he tired the side in order and throw 126 pitches which gave him an amazing pitches per inning of 12.6 and he only gave up 7 hits over his 10 innings and was simply unbeatable on the night. In the bottom of the tenth Gladden lead off hitting one in front of Hunter in left which took a high bounce off the artificial turf and he ended up with a double and Knoublauch bunted him to third and then Cox loaded the bases with back to back intentional walks and that brought the injured Gene Larkin off the bench for his first World Series plate appearance and on the first pitch he saw he hit a game winning single to give the Twins a 1-0 win in 10 and gave them their second World series title in 5 seasons as they won also won in '87.

Happy Birthday Mom

Colts win the Suck for Luck sweepstakes and the Polians move on

Indianapolis Colts have won the Suck for Luck sweepstakes and now the fun has begun and the first interesting thing that has happened and it is that Bill and Chris Polian have been fired by the Colts and it looks like the owner and Polians had different ideas on where to go with the Andrew Luck and Payton Manning situation.

I do not know if it is best to keep Payton Manning or Andrew Luck or both of them going forward but I do know that Polians have been putting together Super bowl teams for more than 20 years starting with the Bills that he helped build the Bills in the late 80's and then they went onto four super bowls in a row. Then they went on to the Carolina Panthers and in their second season in the team's existence and went to NFC championship game and lost to the Packers and then went to the Colts and they picked Payton Manning and they went on to win a Super bowl in the 2006 seasons and then lost in the super bowl in 2009.

So I think the Colts made a bad decision to let go of the Polians because they build great franchise teams and it will be interesting if Payton Manning wants to leave because I wonder where he ends up.

Colts may not be finished

Henry Burris maybe the savoir of the Toronto Argos

Henry Burris was benched for past weekend's game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in favor of Drew Tate who lead the Stamps to a 25-13 so it looks like his time is up in Calgary. So the reality is that the 36 year old quarterback may need a new home and Toronto is really in need of a leader that can turn the Argos around and hopefully bring a few more fans in to the stands or like 10,000 of them by putting a winning team on the field and this maybe easier then in most sports as they only have to better than three other teams. Henry Burris would be another positive asset like the defense that has been the back bone to the team for over a decade and with a running back like Cory boyd if the Argos could get better wide receivers the Argos would be able to loosing up the defense inside the run box and the offense would be so much better. If the Argos are looking for wide receivers the best place to start would be Saskatchewan as they have so many great Canadian wide receivers like Rob Bags, Andy Fantuz, and Chris Getzlaf so try to get one of these wide outs as it is important to have Canadian players that earn their way on the field instead of having to be on the field simply because of the Canadian ratio. If they are not able to get one of these three guys out of the Saskatchewan they may try like Montreal or use a very high second round draft pick on a top Canadian university wide receiver who has already played on the longer and wider fields already.

So Henry Burris leading a talented team into the playoffs and for the Argos sake playing in the 100th Grey Cup next November on their home field @ the Rogers Centre but there is a little problem that Burris has had since being the starter for the Calgary Stampeders and that is that he has had very talented teams and finished very high in the Western division. Then when it comes to the playoffs it has almost always ended in what could of been as they have only won a single Grey Cup with him under center which happened in 2008 which is the only appearance during his stay in Calgary.

So if he comes to Toronto Argos fans are hoping it is more like the Damon Allen experience than the Kerry Joesph debacle as Damon Allen came in gave the fans a great one man offensive show that amazed many fans and brought in a Grey Cup celebration while Joesph just gave fans headaches and they left in droves.

Even as a roughrider fan I still understand that if the CFL is going to be the best it can be then they really need a strong team in Toronto

Tim Tebow had an amazing last 6 minutes of regulation

Tim Tebow did not have a good game as he was 4 of 14 for a total of 40 yards in the first 54:37 of the game and the Dolphins were leading but then in the last 5:23 in regulation he went 9 of 13 for 121 yards with 2 TDs as he lead drives of 80 and 56 yards to tie the game with 17 seconds left when he ran in a two point conversion and went in standing up. On the 80 yard drive Tebow put together short passes to setup a 44 yard catch and run to Matt Willis which would lead to a 13 yard by Tebow and the drive ended with a TD pass to Demaryius Thomas for a 5 yard TD to end a 8 play, 80 yard, and took 2:39 off the clock. After a Virgil Green onside kick recovery and Tebow and the Broncos kept it up the short passes to setup a Daniel fells 28 yard catch and run to setup the ball on the 3 yard line and after an incomplete pass Tebow went back to Fells again for a 3 yard TD catch. Then in overtime Matt Moore lost the ball on his own 35 yard line as he was sacked half way through the overtime and the Broncos just ran 3 times and setup a 52 yard field goal attempt by Matt Prater and it was good and the Broncos ran out of south Florida with a 18-15 victory as the Dolphins are still lead suck for luck and Tony Sparno is likely to be fired soon a.k.a. tomorrow. The Dolphins diffidently got to Tebow as they sacked him 7 times which is even more Jay Cutler behind the horrible offensive line he has in Chicago.

Tony Gonzalez after being interviewed by his 10 year old son on the FOX game day show he went out and became the second all-time receptions and is only behind Jerry Rice as he caught his 1103 reception in the first half to help the Falcons take a 17-6 lead at half time and the Falcons held on to a 23 - 16 victory. Both starting quarterbacks got hurt at different times in the second as early in the third quarter when one of his offensive lineman stepped on his heel of his foot and had to go back to the locker room but he ended up not missing a snap and contacted with Harry Douglas for a 49 yard catch and run for their biggest gain of the game while Matthew Stafford got injured on the final offensive play of the game he limped off the field.

In New Jersey Plaxico Burress caught three TD passes today against the Chargers as he helped the New York Jets comeback from a 21-10 half time score and helped the Jets score the only 17 points in the second half to win the game 27-21 as Burress caught a 3 yard TD pass midway through the fourth quarter to give the Jets a 24-21 lead. This touchdown was setup by a Darrelle Revis interception who ran the ball back 70 yards and instead of the Chargers being in a field goal position to take a touchdown lead it was going the other way to give the Jets a chance to take a lead. Rex Ryan at the end of the game did not know that it was fourth down when Phillip Rivers throw the ball out of bounds with 3 seconds left in the game which is amazing that a head coach did not know that it was fourth down.

What a week 7 in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Albert Pujols has a World Series game for all time

Albert Pujols had a game of the ages in Game 3 of the 2011 World Series as went 5 for 6 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs and finished with 14 total bases in Cardinals destruction of the Rangers as Pujols tied or set a number of records for a single World Series game.

three home runs tied the record for most home runs in a World Series game as Reggie Jackson a.k.a. Mr. October did the feet in the clinching game 6 of the 1977 World Series and the Babe who did it not once but twice as he did it in 1926 and 1928.

He also tied the record for most RBIs with 6 tying Hideki Matsui who did it in Game 6 of the 2009 and Bobby Richardson who did it in Game 3 of the 1960 World Series.

He tied the record for most hits in a World series Game tying Paul Molitor who did it in Game 1 of the 1982 World Series as a Milwaukee Brewers.

He set a number of World Series records as is the first player in history to get a hit in four consecutive innings in a World Series game as he had a single in the fourth and fifth innings and followed that up with home runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

He is also the first player in history to ever collect 14 total bases in a World Series game.

So with all that said Albert Pujols came into the game last night with a 8 for 36 with 10 RBIs and his only other World Series homer lead to the Cardinals beating the Detroit Tigers and more interesting he came into the game with a 0 for 6 in the first two World Series games in 2011 and had a number of reporters saying that he had snubbed them after game 2 of the World Series on Thursday night.

Now he is going to be the most interesting free agent after this World Series as he will try to break another record by becoming the first 30 million dollar man in baseball history and there will be suiters that will get somewhat close in the likes of the Cardinals, the Cubs, and maybe even the Texas Rangers.

Lets see if he can do it again

Zach Ryder challenges Ziggler for the US title and maybe we will find out who blooded Michael Chiappetta

This Sunday Zack Ryder will be taken on Dolph Ziggler for the US title at Vengeance and it has been very put together story line leading into the match as Zach Rider's roommate Michael Michael Chiappetta was blooded up by a mystery person but all signs lead to Dolph Ziggler being the No. 1 suspect. It maybe revealed who actually blooded up Michael Chiappetta this Sunday or maybe it will happen on episode 36 of True Long Island Ice Z next Thursday on YouTube and this Sunday Dolph Ziggler will be a very very busy man because he and Jack Swagger will also be wrestling Air Boom for the Tag titles.

It is extremely likely that Zach Ryder will become the new US champion this Sunday and it maybe just at the height of where Zach Ryder can get without losing his underdog portfolio where he is most likely the No. 3 seller of merchandise with all his T-shirt sales, headband sales, and sunglasses sales. It is because the other titles except the World titles are not noticeable with no title matches for the US title, the intercontinental title, and the Tag Team titles recently.

This match will be able to bring more eyeballs to the pay per view than the Del Rios Vs Cena or Mark Henry Vs the Big Show and because the story line has been all on the internet and on Sunday probably 90 % of all viewers will watch Vengeance on the internet for free and the WWE will have a difficult time getting to 100 thousand pay per view buys for this years Vengeance pay per view.

Woo Woo Woo U know it

Oakland Raiders pay an extremely high price for Carson Palmer

So on Sunday the Oakland Raiders lost their starting quarterback Jason Campbell who suffered a broken collarbone and had surgery on Monday and will be out at least 6 weeks so they decided to go out and trade their first round draft pick in 2112 to Cincinnati for disgruntled quarterback Carson Palmer. They made this trade in hopes to make the playoffs as they are 4 and 2 and they are actually winning games outside of the division as they have already won three games this season and they had only two all of last year and are a game behind the Chargers who have not look impressive on their way to a 4 and 1 start this season. If they win a game in the playoffs it will cost them their 2013 first round pick as well and in return they are getting a pass happy quarterback in Carson Palmer who as a starter for the Cincinnati Bengals had a 46 and 51 record and only took them to the playoffs twice and is 0 and 2 in those games. Carson Palmer since being drafted by the Bengals in 2003 he thrown for 22.694 yards and has completed 62.9 % of his passes and has thrown 154 TDs and 100 INTs in his first 8 seasons in the NFL but with his subpar season in 2010 where throw 20 INTs which tied his career high and looked to be more of the problem then the solution not able to get either Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson the ball in what was a disastrous season.

On the other hand U have the 4 and 2 Bengals with their first round pick in this past draft who in his first 6 games under center has been very good especially after being 10 for 15 for 81 yards and a TD in his debut before getting injured and in his last three games is 3 and 0 throwing for 741 yards with 4 TDs and 3 INTs. So now the Bengals got a first round draft pick for a guy not on their roster and have cleaned house and took the me, me, me kind of bad energy which includes Palmer more than originally thought and if the Raiders won a playoff game they get an extra first round pick which is an extremely sweet deal.

Now Carson Palmer will have to figure out the Raider system and they will simplify it for him to start and it is a much different game plan in Oakland as he will not be throwing the ball as much with Darren McFadden carrying the ball close to 20 times a game while averaging 3 catches and 25 yards a game receiving and it will take a lot of pressure of Palmer which can only be a good thing.

Lets hope its a good deal for both teams and the Raiders can have one more playoff run for Al Davis

Sting beat Hulk Hogan and then Hogan turns on immortal and Robert Roode some how not the champ

Kurt Angle had Robert Rodde in the angle slam but Rodde kicked out and then Angle put him in the angle lock but Rodde kicked out and then Rodd had Angle in fisherman superplex and Rodde had Angle the cross face on Angle but Angle did not tap. The finish was Angle getting another angle slam on Rodde and Rodde hand under the rope while Angle used the ropes for a screw job finish and in the end this is horrible TNA booking as they just killed the momentum of Rodde and the crowd booed the finish completely. Even if Rodde wins the tittle on Thursday on impact which would not surprise me at all when more people will be watching it may not matter because they have still just killed the only possible money maker this company has built and it may ruining the company like it has before in other companies

Co main event was was Hogan Vs Sting and it started was a video package of the whole Hogan and Sting story and Tazz tried to get the point across that the company is on the line and that itr is the biggest thing out there and Dixie Carter was in the crowd and that Jackson James the Ref for the match is Eric's son.

To begin the match Flair's music hit and the nature boy came out to ringside and the crowd were strangely hot for both of the wrestlers and it was very unexpected to me at least and Hogan opened Sting up hard way with a spike to head of the Stinger. Then Sting stole a weapon out of a laid out Flair and then used it to open Hogan up Hogan hard way and then Sting put Hogan in a scorpion on Hogan who tapped and Jackson James called for the bell and Sting won but then immortal and Eric takes out his own son. Then the swerved happened as Hogan turned on immortal and finally took out Eric to end the fight.

Austin Aries opened the show with a victory over Brian Kendrick to retain his X division tittle to keep him strong.

Karen Jarrett walks in on Traci Brooks playing with the Jarrett kids and Karen after the kids left the room said stay away from my kids and do not come to the ring during the knockouts match expect if I am in trouble and showed Traci the ref outfit she would be wearing for the match because she was going to be the ref of the match.

A video of RVD and Lynn setting up the match

The second match the 40-year-old Rob Van Dam was a crowd favorite against 48 year old Jerry Lynn hit each other with everything ie ladders and chairs along with other things and RVD had Lynn across the ring with a ladder in front him and drop kicked him with a chair for the win. It was not a nice thing to watch and some of the fans started to boo RVD in the middle of the match and these two should not be wrestling anymore because it is too sad to watch.

Then they show Dixie showing up and mentioned she was here because if Sting kept the tittle tonight then Dixie would be in charge of TNA again for whatever that actually means.

Samoa Joe Vs Matt Morgan Vs Crimson and it is sad to see what Samoa Joe has become as he lost another match and he tried his back drop and Matt Morgan came in and kicked Samoa Joe in the stomach and Crimson got a spear to pick up the victory and stay undefeated. Samoa Joe contracts hopefully up soon and then he can rehab his career in Ring of Honor because he has lost all confidence in the booking team at TNA.

Bully Ray did a great promo and actually got the crowd to turn on him as he mentioned that he had taken this city for everything they had and had 3 houses and 5 cars with the money he stole from the white people of this city.

Mr Anderson Vs Bully Ray

This match was a showing of how it can use to many weapons as they even battled upto the stage and Ray used Anderson's mic to do another announcement and Anderson got the mic and said that Philly is the place to be. Before they got back to the ring Anderson was dropped on the concrete snd then they fought through the crowd and in the end Anderson throw Ray into the rindg and then got a guardrail into the ring and Ray was thrown on it and then Anderson went off the top rope and missed and hit the guardrail and in the end it was used four times. The match ended with Ray on a table and Anderson went to the top rope to drive Ray through the table but missed the table completely and got booed and Tazz even mentioned that he missed it completely and when Anderson drove Ray through the table with a mic check Tazz said "sometimes U just audible on the fly".

Then U had a secret video of Eric talking with Jackson James and said that he had been a good soldier for him and Hogan and that nobody knew that he was helping them and that tonight he needed to make sure that Hogan gets the tittle and that Sing needed to get hurt. Eric called Jackson his son and Jackson called Eric dad and Tazz went with it and said is Jackson Eric's son and the announcers where very distracted by this.

Knockouts tittle match was won by Violet sky won the tittle when Winter tried to spit her juice into the eyes of Mickie James but instead it got into the eyes of ref Karen Jarrett and Traci Brooks came down to the ring and counted the three count for Violet Sky.

Video package for the I quit match between AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels

To start the match Daniels was in control of the match for the first big part of the match and it was all about him trying to get AJ to quit and he did not but then midway through the match Daniels started talking about not wanting him to say I quit and he Daniels almost said it and then he said he wanted to see AJ pass out and wanted Wendy AJ's wife take the kids out of the room. The end was very weird as AJ got control of the match and finally picked up a screw driver that Daniels had used on AJ and before he could hit Daniels he quit and left but then came back and attacked AJ on the stage and said AJ U did not beat me.

Jeff Jarrett came out and ran down Jeff Hardy and he finally called him out and Hardy just attacked him before being separated by security.

A crazy scene at the end of the Niners and Lions game

Niners Head Coach Jim Harburgh was going crazy going after the game and it must of rubbed salt in the wound of losing the game of the Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz and Jim Harburgh decided to kick a field goal with a minute left and expanded the Niners lead of 3 points to 6 points which was a little of an interesting decision. So Harburgh and Schwartz had to be separated and all the players were in a small area around the entrances and nobody moved and the security had to get the Niners into their locker room before letting the Lions into their lock room but there were no punches thrown and Schwartz was as far away from Harburgh but Harbaugh did not have a hard time to get under the skin of the Lions after falling behind 10 - 0.

during a game between one of the only two undefeated teams in the Detroit Lions hosting the 4 and 1 niners and it was extremely defensive game with a few big plays like two Frank Gore runs of 47 yards and 55 yards while Detroit got two long pass receptions from Chris Johnson of 41 yards and Jahvid Best of 32 yards. The Lions had a quick 10 - 0 lead and Niners Head coach Jim Harbugh tried to challenge the TD that put the Lions ahead 10-0 and was given a 15 yard delay of game penalty because all TDs are automatically reviewed and it was to slow down the Lions momentum and it worked as Frank Gore had a 1 yard run. then midway through the second quarter Matthew Stafford was sacked in the end zone to make it 10-9 and with under 2 minutes left in the half Jason Hanson missed a 52 yard field goal with a minute left and the Niners went down the field and David Ackers kicked a 55 yard field goal on the last play of the half to give the Niners a 12-10 lead. With less than 13 minutes left in the game Matthew Stafford found Nate Burleson at the back of the end zone and was challenged and called a TD and the Lions were up 19-15 and the game came down to the second play after the 2 minute warning which was a fourth and goal from the sixth yard line of the Lions where Niners QB found Alex Smith found Delanie Walker who battled into the end zone to score the winning TD as the Lions went out and went four plays and did not get a first.

Ring of honor has two main events for their October 15/16 show

So October 15/16 version of Ring of Honor began with video packages from the Briscos who said that they have been in ROH since its beginning 9 years ago and they also said if another team wants their respect they will have to beat them up to get it and that it is only amount of time before they are the Tag Team Champions again. The second video package was for the allnight express which is made up of Rhett Titus and Kenny King and Rhett Titus talked about how the Briscos last time they were in the ring together that they gave him a scare over his right eyebrow that will never heal and that in their next match he is going to scare up the Briscos.

This lead into the No.1 contender match between the allnight express and the Briscos and while the allnight express came down to the ring Kevin Kelly mentioned that Rhett Titus has a damaged eardrum that will need surgery but is putting it off while they try and get a shot at the World Tag Team tittles. The end of the match came when Kenny King was low blowed by the Briscos who picked up the win but after the match they made it very clear that low blows are illegal and if ref Todd Sinclair had seen it he would of reversed the call as Rhett Titus was explaining what had happened and Sinclair went to the Briscos and asked them if they had indeed low blowed Kenny and they said no. Rhett Titus attacked both Briscos in frustration while Kenny was still selling the low blow so all the refs and agents came out from the back to separate Rhatt Titus from the Briscos.

In the second half of the show started with video packages on Truth Martini and his stable of Roderick Strong who had not won the world tittle on numerous occasions before meet up with Truth and after meeting him within 6 month he was world champ and the other member of the stable was Strong's muscle Michael Elgin who would make to keep Eddie Edwards out of the tittle picture so Strong could have another crack at Davey Richards and the ROH tittle. The package also focused on Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards friendship and how Edwards has beaten Richards on a number of occasions for tittles and Richards wanted nothing more than to have another match against Edwards to show that he really deserves being called ROH heavy weight champion.

Which lead into a match between Michael Elgin and Eddy Edwards and while Edwards was on his way to the ring Kevin Kelly mentioned that he was a ROH triple crown winner(tag tittle, TV tittle, and world tittle) and he had done it in all in two years with ROH. The match consisted of Edwards given Elgin huge moves but he would fight them off and it lead to a spot outside of the ring where Edwards gave Elgin two shots to daze him before flying through the ropes and broke the barocade around the ring. The match ended with Edwards finally getting the diehard of Elgin which is superplex for the win and Edwards just lied on the mat exhausted and when he used the ropes to get back to his feet both Strong and Elgin where behind him along with Truth and that is when Nigel McGuinness took his headset off and got into the ring to even the numbers and Truth kept his stable back from Edwards and Nigel McGuinness as the show went off the air.

So it is looking like Nigel McGuinness and former world champ himself may step back in the ring with Elgin and Strong and team up with Edwards in an upcoming edition of ROH on national TV and ROH continues to show how great stories and great wrestling makes great programming. TNA looks to have taken notice by given the booking book to Bruce Prichards better known as Brother Love in the hay day of the WWF to run their 2 hour programming a week instead Vince Russo so to not allow ROH better them in the ratings war with their one hour programming a week.

So it looks like another home run by ROH who could soon get more ippv buys than TNA has as TNA has there Wrestlemania moment and are looking to better their high in PPV buys which is like 30 to 35 thousand as they have Hogan and Sting go at it in a match that will only be described as a train wreck.

ROH is the best

Wrestlemania 29 heading to Cowboy stadium in Dallas, Texas

In Dallas Texas on Tuesday night in the middle of the Smack down the WWE during one of the breaks and most likely after the taping DX reunited with triple H and Shawn Micheals came down to the ring to the DX music and it was all put on WWE.com as an excluive. Trips came out in a suit and they did an R U ready chant and Micheals cut it and said why are U wearing a suit and he took it off and revealed a DX shirt and then Trips asked Micheals is there a big stadium in Dallas and Micheals said yes and it is now. Trips ended with if U want Wrestlemania let them hear U and he lead the crowd in a we want Wrestlemania chant and as Trips is extremely high in the pecking order of the WWE and his wife is like the head booker backstage and is the daughter of the owner Vincent Kennedy McMahon so it was a placed segment and it will happen.

It will be the biggest attendance number in Wrestlemania history and that is even the fictional 93 thousand in Detroit in 1987 for Hogan slamming Andre at Wrestlemania 3 which the real number was 79 thousand. Cowboy stadium has 80,000 seats and with the seats on the floor this Wrestlemania will have more than 100 thousand if not even closer to 110 thousand and the WWE will be making huge payday as Wrestlemania 28 in Miami is going to be huge with the Rock, 29 in Dallas will be without question the biggest attendance in Mania history, and then follow that up with 30 in the place where it all began in the Big Apple.

The WWE will be following UFC who will be performance at Cowboy Stadium before Mania in 2013

NBA players need a reality check because they only have to look at the crowds to see the problem

The NBA players need to check their heads because they nothing like the NFL as the NFL TV contracts are worse 3.8 billion and their cap equals each teams shares of the TV revenue and the players signing bonuses is paid by the attendance at the games. While the NBA have total revenues of 4.2 billion and the licences of NFL products revenue is 2.7 billion is much bigger than the 1.75 billion for the NBA. The NBA's biggest problem is ticket sales as 12 teams have less than 83.7 % capacity which is a sixth of the seats ans this 40% of the teams and 4 teams are under 80% capacity while 6 teams have less than 15,000 fans a game and this is 20% of the teams. Also the thing is that most attendance numbers are rigged anyways and the players only need to look into the stands to see all the empty seats while they were playing that there is a huge problem in the NBA and I know hockey is a way weaker brand but they still have more fans at their games than the NBA does.

So if the owners are offering 50/50 split the players instead of thinking it is a slap in the face should be thanking the owners because the teams that make the most money like the Celtics, the Knicks, the Mavericks, and the Lakers are all way over the salary cap and at least the bottom third of the league is hurting and they have more unstable franchises than the NHL. Keep in mind that the Miami Heat had the upper level of their arena covered up and they had 2,000 more seats sold in the season after the big three got together and the season before them it much lower than the 17 thousand they had.

Most NBA teams have players sitting on their bench making more than 10 million who are no longer useful and if the owners are still willing to give guaranteed contracts still and the players need to keep in mind that a lot of NBA owners will lose a lot less money than if they actually played ball under the old CBA while the others will gain more profit in the long run.

Also the richer owners could help out the poorer owners by having revenue sharing but the players will also have to take a huge pay cut to make the NBA stay strong for decades to come.

It might take the whole season to get a deal done that makes the league stronger for years to come

Theo Epstein is heading to the Cubs and will have a tougher time turning around them then his time in Boston

Theo Epstein has a year left on his contract with the Boston Red Soxs and the fans in Boston are looking for blood and Terry Francona getting released is not enough for the Red Soxs so they wanted to run Theo Epstein out of town as well. Now it looks like they are going to get their way as it is looking like Epstein is heading to the south side of Chicago to rebuild the Cubs who have not won a World Series since 1908 and have not been in a World Series game since 1945 which is 67 years ago.

The Red Soxs fan maybe ruining the day that they forced Theo Epstein as he built their team into a world series champion within two years of been hired as the GM of Red Soxs in 2004 breaking the curse of trading the Babe as to that point their last world series title was 1918. He brought in a no name player David Ortiz who was a little known player who was in the Seattle Mariners and the Minnesota Twins systems between 1992 and 2002. He was turned into a monster after arrive in Boston in 2003 where he hit 31 homers and 101 RBIs and then a year later he was an AL all-star with 41 homers and 139 RBIs and had a playoff performance of 409 with 5 homers and 29 RBIs to lead the Soxs to the World Series tittle. He also brought in Kevin Millar who was a club house guy who kept the team together and he had started as a replacement player in '94 and then a little known player with the Marlins until he joined the Red Soxs. He also brought in an Ace like Curt Schilling was brought into cementing the rotation and who can forget the bloody soxs during the 2004 AL Championship series against the Yankees.

So now he is heading to the Cubs who have bad contracts like Alfonso Soriano (18 mil), Carlos Zambrano (18 mil), and Ryan Dempster (14 mil) so these three players are making 50 mil next season and these three are bad role models to the rest of the team and if he could figure out a way to get them off the team by eating the contracts or something it would put the team in a better position to be contenders.

The Cubs really need to build from the ground up as the going out and paying big bucks for free agents just inflates the pay roll and get no results so they need to find the right players in the draft and try to find the low price gems like he did in Boston but it will a lot harder now than it was then because teams are more aware of those kind of get on base guys who can kill opposing pitchers innings by taken pitches and fouling of a number of close pitches. This means it might take Theo Epstein all five years of his contract to get the bad seeds out and the bright future in because it was not all about just being able to sign the top free agents because they were able to pay the money but he went out and got the right players no matter what the cost until last season just blow up in everybody's face.

Lets see if this can finally turn the south side into winners

Bills in Toronto may get a shot in the arm by having a very important game

The Bills in Toronto series has been a complete and uter disaster as the first 3 seasons of the series that started in 2008 and has had 5 games over that time and the attendance has been very heavily papered with people handing out free tickets just before the game starts. The crowds also have been completely dead and the tickets prices at the start were an average of 183 dollars a seat compared to 51 dollars a seat in Buffalo and in the second season they cut the prices down and 11,000 seats for less than 99 dollars.

Heading into the fourth season on the series in a couple of weeks when it maybe the battle of best in the east as the Bills who maybe leading AFC east and the Washington Redskins who maybe leading the NFC east go head to head at the Rogers centre on October 30th and the tickets in the upper bowl have been servery cut with the lowest price being 50 dollars and the majority of the upper bowl is less 95 dollars.

This next game on October 30Th against the Redskins will be as close to a sellout as any of the Bills in Toronto games have so far and for the first time in the series it will not be papered as it will be a very meaningful game for both teams as the Bills are 4 and 1 with a game against the Giants in New Jersey this weekend before their bye week. While the Redskins are 3 and 1 coming off their bye week and now they will host the deflated dream team Eagles and then go into the Carolinas to face Cam Newton and the Panthers before heading across the boarder to meet the Bills.

This maybe a good one for everyone

ROH - Davey Richards Vs Rodrick Strong and the undefeated Tommaso Ciampa

Week 3 of ROH on Fox started with Jim Cornette was in the ring again and this time with the Briscoe brothers and it was a segment to put into place the No.1 contenders for the tag belts as The Briscoes Vs The All Night Express for next week.

Then they did a ROH focus bit of the Alpha Male Tommaso Ciampa who is the only undefeated wrestler in ROH and has been wrestling in ROH for a year and Cornette said that Tommaso Ciampa was basically a loose canyon. He is managed/brainwashed by Prince Nana who has lots of money and his father is a King in Africa and that he sees dollar signs in Clampa as he sees him winning the world tittle.

That lead into a match between Andy Ridge and the Alpha Man and Steve Corino was at the broadcasting booth as had an interest in Andy Ridge but in the end the Alpha Male won with a sitting power bomb and he got his knees up and Ridges spine landed on them and he got the win.

Then they did an inside look at tonight's main event and it was used to put across that Roderick Strong was ego maniac and wanted the tittle back because it brought him money and it brought him more girls than when he was a football player. While Davey Richards talked about how his grandparents died when he was staying in a Japan Dojo for four month and this shows that he was dedicated to the business.

During their match for the world tittle Davey Richards was distracted by Strong's manager/inspirational motivator Truth Martini when he on the top rope and Strong kicked him in the head from the ring apron and he was out the rest of the match and Strong through everything at him but Davey every once in a while got a move in to stop Strong's momentum. Kevin Kelly used this match to use some of his Style's impression and go all crazy for moves like Davey Richards diving through the ropes to take out Strong and Strong dropped him on the ring apron and Kelly pointed out that it was like being dropped right on steel. The fans had a number of this is awesome chants throughout the main event and it ended with Davey Richards getting the ankle lock on Strong four times and the third was a visual tap and Truth Martini distracted the ref and Davey went after him and ended up in the ring and Davey Irish whip over the turn buckle that lead to the fourth ankle lock where Strong tapped and Davey won.

Kelly while leaving the network broadcast said that there would be two main events next week and one is going to be the tag match and the other would be either Eddie Edwards Vs Davey Richards for the world tittle or Jay Lethal Vs El Generico for the TV tittle. This week show was good again and next weeks show is already setup so ROH is really good at long term booking especially when U look at both TNA and WWE and the most amazing part is that the other companies have their talent under longer contracts.

Thanks

Winnipeg Jets are back and they were unable to come out on the winning side of life

The Winnipeg Jets were welcomed back to huge cheers as they introduced everybody in Manitoba or at least it felt like it and it was a great way to start the game and the crowd were roaring for two periods and a bit. They even cheered Gary Bettmen which would not happen very often and they were excited getting into the Arena and they even were cheer at the end of the game as they were simply excited to have the team back in town. The Anthem was a little too much as they had Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo and Winnipeg native Chantal Kreviazuk sang O'Canada together and it did not sound good together so it was a little too much so they either could have had only one of them sing or one does O'Canada and the other do like US national anthem or some other Canadian song like Maple Leaf forever.

In the first a giveaway let Mike CAMMALLERI go in on a breakaway and put the puck into the net three minutes into the game and the Jets players were very nervous with the situation built around the game and in the second period with just less than 6 minutes left in the period TOMAS PLEKANEC scored another goal for the Montreal Canadiens and they took a 2-0 lead into the third period. In the third period Nik ANTROPOV scored the first goal in the new Jets history book as it was 2-1 Canadiens but then DUSTIN BYFUGLIEN had a Canadien in his sights and got a hit with his big body and got a questionable call on him and 23 seconds later YANNICK WEBER scored to make it 3-1 and on the next Canadiens shot 5:40 later TRAVIS MOEN scored to make it 4-1 and after Ondrej Pavelec made a save MAX PACIORETTY scored to make it 5-1.

Mike Cammalleri had a cut on his leg in the first period and left in an ambulance and may be out a week over two and Jaroslav Spacek left the game in the second period after a hit and may also be out a week or two. The Jets controlled the shots as they out shot the Canadiens 31 to 22 in the game while also out hitting them 26 to 7 and were almost even in the face off as the Canadiens won 33 and the Jets 31.

The Jets now go on the road for two starting with the Blackhawks on Thursday

NFL week 5 - Bills experts at catching Vick's pass while Raiders just win baby and AP bowl over the Chiefs

The Bills behind the power of Freddie Jackson beat the dream team Philadelphia Eagles and now the dream is over and once again Eagle fans are living a nightmare as Freddie Jackson carried the rock 26 times for 111 yards and catch it 6 times for 85 yards including a dump off pass from Fitzpatrick that went 49 yards which lead to the Bills going up 14-7 and never looked back. While for the Eagles it was Michael Vick show and it had worse ratings than the Playboy club as he throw 3 interceptions in the first half and with just over two minutes left he throw his fourth of the game which is a Vick record and the Bills held on for a 31-24 win to go to 4 and 1 while the Eagles are 1 and 4 (remember these are the fans who booed Santa).

The Oakland Raiders won one for Al Davis as they stuck with the Texans and took a 25-17 lead with 11 and half minutes left in the game and held on as the Texans tried to storm back as they got a field goal with just less than 10 minutes left and had a chance to win the game as Matt Schaub had one last shot to get into the end zone on the Raiders 5-yard line with 6 seconds left but instead the Raiders Michael Huff intercepted it and end the game. The Texans could not run on the Raiders D as Adrian Foster ran 22 for 68 yards but Matt Schaub could put up yards through the air as he went 24 for 51 for 416 yards and 2 TDs to with 2 INTs while both Adrian Foster (5 catches for 116 with his long 60 yards) and Joel Dreessen (5 catches for 112 yards with a long of 56 yards) went over a 100 yards through the air and Schaub had three passes for over 40 yards in the game. The Raiders were helped by kick returner Jacoby Ford who had 3 returns for 93 yards including a 45 yard return and Sebastian Janikowski went 4 for 4 kicking field goals and had a long of 55 yards while Jason Campbell throw for 190 yards and 2 TDs and an interception and the running game lead by Darren McFadden (16 for 51) only had 94 yards on the ground.

The Minnesota Vikings kept it simply as they just kept it on the ground and AP (Adrian Peterson) just ran over the Kansas City Chiefs as he carried the rock 29 times for 122 and three TDs and all in the first quarter to lead the Vikings to a 28-0 lead and just road it to a 34-10. while Vikings Strong Safety Jamarca Sanford had 2 of the interceptions that the Cardinals quarterbacks three interception.

The Saints and Drew Brees are oceans apart and he maybe a free agent next off season as the Saints will tag him with the franchise tag this off season if they are not able to come to a long term deal and today he was 32 of 45 for 358 yards and 2 TDs and an int while the Saints run game was not around as they had 28 carries for 101 yards. They also had to make a big late comeback with just more than 7 minutes left in the game and they went down the field and milked the clock almost dry as they had a 13 play, 89 yards drive that took 6:16 seconds off the clock and ended with a 6 yard TD pass to Pierre Thomas to take a 30-27 lead and held off Cam Newton and the Panthers for the victory. The Panthers did get more big plays to put up points as Steve Smith caught a 59 yard catch and run from Newton while DeAngelo Williams had a 69 yard TD run for a TD. Cam Newton had a quiet day as he had a 16 of 31 for 224 yards with 2 TDs and an interception and ran the ball 7 times for 27 yards with a long of 13 yards.

Another good NFL sunday

Phil Kassel gets his first Leafs hat trick as the Leafs hang on

Phil Kassel scored his first hat trick as a Leaf in a 6-5 Leafs victory over the Ottawa Senators and has 4 points in the first two games and Dion Phaneuf had an assist in the game and has 3 points in the first two games while Jeffery Lupul has a goal and 4 points in the first two games as the Leafs go to guys are on the right track. James Reimer faced 16 shots in the first two periods off the game and made the first 44 saves of the season as he ended up having a 101 minute shutout streak but in the third period the Leafs defense fell asleep as the Senators scored 5 goals on 16 shots and the Leafs 4-0 lead after 40 minutes was not comfortable but when Colton Orr during his 3 minutes on the ice put a goal behind Alex Alud to make it 5-1 it really felt that it was over. The Leafs had almost 2 minute 2 man advantage and could not do anything with it but when Daniel Alfredsson was the first out of the box and Chris Phillips got a puck out of the zone and had a short-handed breakaway goal and then when with Mike Komisarek and 6 seconds later Dion Phaneuf was careless with the puck and got a delay of game gave the Sens a 2 man advantage with 5:35 left in the game and they scored 2 goals on the power play as Jason Spezza and Alfredsson scored to make it 5-4. When Phil Kassel scored his hat trick goal with 2:19 left in the game but the Sens Stephane Da Costa scored 25 seconds later and the Leafs had to hold on for dear life and did.

The Leafs now have a week off to practice before playing next Saturday at home to the Calgary Flames @ home and best news for Leafs fans is that they are winning at home because if the Leafs are going to make the playoffs they will need as many points as possible at home.

Lets hope the Leafs have a good season

Al Davis passes away @ 82

NFL Hall of Famer Al Davis who is one of the most recognizable figure in NFL history with his Raider's jacket and his slicked back hair and his black sun glasses walking up and down the Raiders sidelines until he could not do it anymore. He had his battles with the likes of Mike Shanahan and Jon Gruden along with other coaches and then thre is the feud with Mucus Allen in the late 80's and was always looking for the best deal as he went back and forth between Oakland and LA.

Al Davis' career in the NFL with San Diego Chargers as offensive line coach in 1962 and then in '63 he was brought into be the head coach and general manager of the Raiders and was the youngest coach in the AFL at the time and he helped the Raiders win 10 games after they had 9 wins total over their first 3 seasons in the AFL. In 1966 he became the AFL commissioner and immediately started signing NFL players which immediately had the NFL and AFL talk about playing games against each other and lead to the invention of the Superbowl as the first one was after the next season. He lasted only three month as he did not like the idea of merging with the NFL and went immediately back to the Raiders and became a partial owner with a 10% share in the Oakland Raiders and began making all the coaching decisions for the next 45 years as he became the director of Football operation and then in '76 he had managed to become the sole owners of the team after forcing out Wayne Valley out as a majority owner.

His Raiders between 1967-1969 seasons lost to the three eventual Superbowl winners as they lost to the Green Bay Packers in Superbowl II and followed that up with loses to both the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFL Championship game and they went onto win the Superbowl. In the 70's the big bad Raiders were founded as they won the AFC West title 6 times and won Superbowl XI all under Head coach John Madden and after Madden left in '79. The Raiders became the first wild card team to win the Superbowl in '81 in Superbowl XV and then the moving back and forth from Oakland to LA and back to Oakland which started in '82 when they moved to LA where the Raiders won their last Superbowl under the ownership of Al Davis in '83 as they won Superbowl XVII. The Raiders after moving back to Oakland in '94 they became the team that would spend the big bucks for the hot player Larry Brown who was the '96 Superbowl MVP when he caught three passes from Neil O'Donnell the Pittsburgh Steelers while he was the Dallas Cowboy Safety.

Under his ownership the Raiders became one of the most recognizable logos in Football along side the Steelers and the Cowboys and their jackets everywhere and brought some of the craziest fans in football who dressed up and if U were cheering for the opponents U simply did not mess with them.

He was great for the image of the NFL until near his death

Detroit Tigers were on the ropes a lot but the Yanks could not get that Key hit and failed

Doug Fister who was quietly traded for from the Mariners at the end of July and went 3 and 1 in August and then was the American League pitcher for September as he went 5 and 0 with a 0.53 ERA and after a not so good start in Game 1 part 2 in the AL wild card series and after Don Kelly and Delmon Young went back to back in the first of the game he mowed down the Yankees in the first two inning and throw only 26 pitches while only given up a ground rule double. In the third the Yankees started getting to him as he throw 25 pitches in the inning and got out of the inning with first and second with two outs and got Cano to fly out to center. In the fourth he throw 31 pitches and had the bases loaded with one out and he got out of it again as Russell Martin popped up to first and then Brett Gardner fouled out to third to get out of the inning. To start the fifth C C came into pitch and Austin Jackson doubled and he scored on a Victor Martinez RBI single to make it 3-0 and in the bottom of the fifth Robertson Cano had a solo homer which was the only run Fister gave up in his 5 innings of 5 hits with 4Ks and 2 walks. In the bottom of the seventh with Jeter on first with one out Joaquin Benoit came in and immediately was asked to remove a band-aid from his face and it disrupted his concentration and ended loaded the bases with one out and A-rod struck out and got booed and then Teixeira walked in a run but he finally struck out Nick Swisher with the bases loaded and it was 3-2 Tigers. Jose Valverde came in for the Tigers and went 1-2-3 through the Yankees in the ninth ending with A-Rod striking out again to end the game and got booed off the field.

The Yankees big guns were shooting blanks as Derek Jeter went 6 for 24 (.250), Curtis Granderson hit 5 for 19 (.263), A-Rod went 2 for 17 (.118) with 5Ks, Mark Teixeira hit 3 for 18 (.167) with 5Ks so the Yankees just hurt themselves throughout the series and Joe Girardi just like the last game of the regular season just lost his mind tonight trying to Massage the Yankees through the game and used almost all his pitchers as brought 7 pitchers for a nine inning 3-2 game and Rivera only faced 4 batters in the series and only throw 8 pitches all strikes.

It great to see the Yanks fall down and go boom

Rangers shake up the room by cutting Shawn Avery

Today The New York Rangers made their best decision since drafting Marc Staal in the 2005 draft and before that HENRIK LUNDQVIST in the 2000 draft by simply cutting the cancer to room known as Shawn Avery and will be at a bargain basement price if anyone wants him as he is already getting paid 1.9 Mil by the Rangers which means someone stupid enough to want him can probably have him for the league minimum.

So all this means is that the New York Rangers are actually try and have chemistry and are hoping that the years of very talented Rangers teams completely underachieving and basically only have a shot at the playoffs because of one player named HENRIK LUNDQVIST who in any situation can steal a game for the Rangers. This also hopefully brings to a end of John Tortorella fighting with lonely newspaper writers and put all his focus on motivating his troops to go win games if not then he will be the next to go and will hopefully take Glen Sather with him because he has done nothing in New York other than completely suck and almost anyone could of gotten that much out of those hall of Fame Oilers teams.

This decision begins the Brad Richards ERA in the Big Apple as Richards and Avery were teammates in Dallas in Brad Richards first full season with the Stars in the 08-09 season where Avery was quickly dismissed back to the Rangers after only playing 23 games and creating in fighting in the locker room. Brad Richards is coming off two great seasons with the Stars with a 91 point season in 09-10 and a 77 point season in 10-11 and all Rangers fans are hoping that his stay in the Big Apple is much better than Scott Gomez, Chris Drury, and Donald Brashear who had horrible stays in the city and even Marian Gaborik who had a horrible sophomore season of 48 points in 62 games this past season and looking for a comeback season.

Good Ridings to Shawn Avery

Sportsnet Morning show is on TV and TSN radio's morning show is still nowhere near TV

It is absolutely amazing that once again Rogers Sportsnet Fan 590 got the upper hand on TSN 1050 as they have put their morning show of Brady and Lang on Sportsnet one from 6 to 9 AM from Monday to Friday which gets their product out from coast to coast. It is away to sell more product and it is live TV instead of running the same hour over and over throughout the morning like Sports center on TSN and the morning rush on TSN 2 which is a fast pace 15 minute package that runs from 6 AM to noon which is pre-taped at like 2 or 3 in the morning and this week they are running Hockey 2 Nite from 5 to noon. The morning show on TV gets live sports on TV and if something breaks during the morning Sportsnet can run with the story which TSN would not be able to do and Sportsnet would be the more current product and have a much better rating.

The most surprising thing is that TSN Radio's morning show Mike Richards is more expensive as Richards contract is bigger than both Brady and Lang contracts together and if contract is at the level of Bob McCown whose show is covered across all the Sportsnet channel at one time or another and is on a number of radio stations across the country which is something that Richards show does not have. Also Richards show was supposed to be on TV at the beginning of September when the fall TV schedule begins and as of right now there is no word on even if the Morning show will be still going to TV at some point or if they have just dropped the idea because of how horrible their ratings @ TSN Radio have been since its launch and if this is the case they have completely dropped the ball.

This maybe the biggest disaster in TSN history as they usually are a head of the curve and do it well

NFL - the collapses of the Cowboys, Eagles, Cardinals, and Bills were interesting to watch

Detroit Lions who came back from a 20 point deficit last week and this week with 10 minutes left they were down 27-3 and then Tony Romo started throwing TD passes to Lions defenders as he thow a pass to former Cowboy defender Bobby Carpenter who took the ball back 34 yards for 6 points and on the next drive Romo through a TD pass to Lion defender Chris Houston took it to the house by running the ball back 56 yards to make it 27-17. On the next drive Lion defender Ndamukong Suh gave the Cowboys 3 points by receiving a roughing the passer penalty on an incomplete pass on a third down so Dallas would of been punting but instead Tony Romo completed a 37 yard pass to Jason Witten. To start the fourth quarter Matt Stafford who grow up in Dallas throw a 23 yard TD pass into the back of the end zone and it was 30-27 and on the next throw from Romo through his third interception of the second half with 4:13 left in the game and with 1:39 left Chris Johnson took in his third catch of the drive and caught a 2 yard TD pass to give the Lions a 34-30 victory and give the Cowboys their worse collapse in team history.

The Niners were down to the Eagles 23-3 with 9:30 left in the third quarter and could not stop Michael Vick who throw for 416 yards with two TDs and an INT to with 75 yards on the ground as well but they fought back in the second half with 21 unanswered points to win 24-23. Alex Smith completed a 44 yard pass to Kendall Hunter which set up a 30 yard TD pass to Josh Morgan for the niners for TD and before the end of the third quarter Alex Smith went deep for 38 yards to Michael Crabtree and after a Kendall Hunter 12 yard run and Alex Smith throw a short pass and Bruce Miller took it for an 15 yard advance to put them in position for an Alex Smith a 9 yard TD pass to Vernon Davis for the second TD of the half. Then in the fourth quarter Frank Gore ran for 25 yards with just less than 6 minutes and after a 15 yard face mask call on Brian Rolle of the Eagles which setup a Kendall Hunter 14 yard run which was followed by a 12 yard run by Frank Gore to score the third TD of the half and gave the niners the victory and a 3 and 1 record. Alex Smith put up 291 yards on 21 of 33 and had two TDs and Frank Gore ran 15 times for 127 yards.

The Giants came back against the Cardinals and it was not easy as they were down 27-17 with just less than 4 minutes left and Eli Manning completed a 2 yard pass to Jake Ballard and then the play that everyone will be talking about happened when Victor Cruz had a 29 yard catch and run and went down without being touched and left the ball on the ground and because he did not try to advance the ball the play was called dead and the Giants kept the ball. The Giants then went down the field and on the next play Hakeem Nicks caught a 29 yard TD pass to take the game 31-27 as the Cardinals could not put anything together to try and win the game and Eli ended up with 27 of 40 for 321 with two TDs.

The Cincinnati Bengals gave the Bills a taste of their own medicine as the Bills had come into the game with an amazing second half performance in all of their first three games of the season and outscored their opponents 80 to 24. The Bills took a 17-3 lead into the second half as the Bengals put up the first 10 points of the third quarter as they put up a 7 play and 78 yard drive to open the second half and got a field goal and on their next drive the Bengals went 7 plays and 72 yards and ended with a 17 yard TD catch to Jermaine Gresham from Andy Dalton. Then the Bills took the ball for over 9 minutes and 17 plays but ended with just a field goal and it would cost them as Andy Dalton finished off a 10 play and 80 yard drive with a 3 yard TD run to tie the game and with less then two minutes left the Bengals went down the field and on the last play of the game way a game winning field goal of 43 yards by Mike Nugent to win the game 23-20. It was the first win by the Bengals over the Bills since they beat them in the 1988 AFC Championship game to go on to face the Niners in the superbowl and it was 10 game losing streak and Andy Dilton put up 298 yards on 18 of 36 with a TD.

The Texans beat the Steelers on a 42 yard Arian Foster where Troy Polamalu was kicking himself for not making the tackle and Foster ran all the way to give the Texans the victory 17-10 and came after the Steelers controlled the ball for over 12 minutes and erase a Texans 10-0 lead at half and tied it up. It was not all good news for the Texans as their All-Pro receiver Andre Johnson who injured his right hamstring but the 155 yards on the ground from Adrian Foster so enough to power the Texans past the Steelers in a statement game.

First quarter of the season is finished and the bye weeks are around the corner

Ring of Honor El Generico Vs Jay Lethal

The Second episode of ROH on national TV started with the introduction of Jim Cornette who interviews the World's Great Tag Team (Haas and Benjamin) and says that the Briscoe brothers only get into the ring with them and Haas immediately says that they would put the titles on the line and that they wanted them tonight and Cornette said he would not allow the match because of how the Briscos attacked them and crowd booed and Haas brought it to Cornerre attention and then Cornette left the ring without making the match.

Then they introduced Mike Bennett and his trainer Brutal Bob and it showed how he felt that he was better than everyone else and how he was going to be the great movie star and he would be better than the Rock and Cornette also talked about how full of himself Bennett was. They followed this up with a match where he took on Jimmy Jacobs and they told the story of how he was helping Steve Corino be come a better person and in the end Bennett won the match to keep him strong.

Then they introduced the World Title Match for next week between Roderick Strong and the champ Davey Richards and they introduced Eddie Edwards and all three had their separate interviews that production cut and pasted and they told the story how Edwards and Richards were good friends and Strong and Richards could not stand each other and that Edwards wanted the winner of the match in a match soon.

Then we headed to the Main Event of the evening and it was TV title match that started 23 before the top of the clock and it had a 15 minute time limit and it was challenger Jay Lethal and champ El Generico and the announcers kept dropping names of people in TNA like Ric Flair and AJ Styles, Christoper Daniels, and Samoa Joe. It was a good match and because it had time at the end it was draw and the crowd wanted 5 more minutes and Lethal and Generico were cornering the ref asking for more time and Cornette came down and said we do not have 5 minutes left in the TV but we do have 3 and that they could whatever time they had til the cameras went off the air so in the end Generico missed his kick and Lethal went to the top to drop the Macho elbow and he did it a couple times and ended up winning the title just before they went off the air to become the new Champ.

So it was another well put together production and TNA really needs to take notes and having a title change in the second show was good but there can not be to many of them like the others whose titles are paper thin right now as they are being hot shoted around. Also it was very strange that they would mention wrestlers apart of other companies because it is usually promoting the other company and drawing attention but I guess they are trying to get the point at wrestlers like Samoa Joe, CM Punk, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryant (Brain Danielson) and Christoper Daniels came from somewhere ROH is the place.

TNA please take notes

THE TIME IS NOW FOR TSN RADIO

For TSN radio it is time put up or shut up as it is hockey time and they own everything hockey related except the Toronto Maple Leafs and that belongs to AM 640 who are basically getting out of the sports world so they really a non factor to TSN Radio's success or failure. So if they can get games on the radio it would improve their ratings and if they have break ins to goals in the games like they have for the big plays in the MLB playoffs during their evening programming and would have an upper leg on their competition Rogers Sportsnet Fan 590 who will be all in on the MLB playoffs for the next month as they have the rights to all the games in the playoffs. After the playoffs are over the Fan will be without any programming because the NBA is pretty much a lost cause this season as the owners want everything in their direction and the players have had it in their favor for years and years and will not be willing to give it and the owners will wait til the players crumple as the owners lose nothing not playing as they lose so much money with certain franchises and the players will lots of money so at a point eager to give up certain things to the owners. The Fan will likely also lose the MLB to TSN Radio next season and be left with only the Blue Jays maybe a hot product and TSN will be all over the Olympics which Rogers just bailed on and this after the Fan already lost the NFL to TSN radio.

So how can TSN radio turn the tables on the Fan as they are being smoked in the ratings right now as the 5 % hour rating and TSN has a miserable 0.6 % hour rating in that all important 25-54 male age group after three month. It starts with their presentation as they have been around 6 month now and they still do not have a web site as they share a web site with TSN and they need to build up their own web site like the Fan with like announcer profiles and a schedule that U can get to with out having to the TV stuff first and find the link to the radio because if I wanted the TV stuff then I go straight to TSN so if I want to find out about TSN radio I want to go straight to TSN radio. Another thing is that they can not take calls because they have major problems with their phone lines and even have problems with guest on their show and we are talking about a product that is owned by a telephone company and should have an advantage because they have been all in on phones for the last 135 years but instead it is a major disadvantage.

After that they built the station around Mike Richards they have not given him the right people because if he built his rep on his comedy bits then they should of given people like Don Landary to help him do the bits and build the show around that instead of doing the same thing as the Fan where they talk about the stories and talk to people about the stories as the stories just like the news are the same and it is all about how U cover it so they need to separate themselves from the Fan to gain a portion of their audience. Then they were talking about bring the show to TV to help pay for Richards contract and gain interest in the product just like the Bobcat on the Fan does as he is very visible and is on the radio across the country and we are 6 month in and Richards is not on TV. This gives the listeners/viewers the impression that TSN does not care about the product and simply put with Richards contract they are going to lose their shirt on this venture if they don't put more into the product and put their face on TV where people can actually see it.

They really need to keep it Canada as Dan Patrick maybe have a big advantage on getting the stars and TSN radio may use it correctly by replaying stuff on other shows like Cybulski and Company and the evening programming but their is a huge disconnect with listeners as he does not focus on the issues that matter to the people of T dot just like the Fan realized when they started and had the sports babe on for a bit. The ESPN all night is similar as the Fan has people on the radio talking about what is on the listeners minds and even taking calls and answering e-mails and keeping the listener apart of the show while ESPN does not involve listeners very much and more importantly not local listeners.

Their other shows need to find different ways to tell the stories as they will have the same stories as the Fan so they need find the different angles and most importantly be different and separate themselves from the Fan because if they are the same then most will simply stick with the brand they know and will not change until TSN radio gives them a reason to change the dial. So I like the top 5 lists on Cybulski and Company and the shotgun idea of telling the top stories with 6 pack but why not have a guy like Cam Stewart on for a 10 minute segment talking about betting and the dogs he likes in that nights games on the ice or the diamond and it something I think that Bobcat would stay away from and U can put disclaimer on it before starting saying if U are going to bet just bet the money U can afford and not try and chase the money U lose.

*************************** Program Update ***************************************************

Starting October 10th from Midnight til 2 AM they will be airing Live Audio Wrestling who have had gained a huge audience from their past radio visits with the Fan, Talk 1010, and AM 640 and then grow their audience even more when they were on Sirius Radio with the Score until it got axed at the end of August. Their audience that they have maintained for 15 years is a very local group who will be listen to the program on TSN radio and the fan base they made outside Canada through Sirius Radio and they will listening to the program through TSN.ca/Radio Via the live stream and it will give TSN radio a better rating than they receive from ESPN overnight.

Lets hope TSN radio keeps having a pulse

Riders and the province of Saskatchewan to host the Grey Cup in 2013

So the province of Saskatchewan will be hosting the 2013 Grey Cup which will be their third time to host the game since Earl Grey donated the Cup in 1909 and has been award to the best Football team in the country and it will be the 101st time the cup will be award. An announcement to make it official will be made on October 13 with CFL commissioner Mark Cohon in attendance along with Premier Brad Wall, the Mayor of Regina Pat Flacco, and from the Riders chairmen of the board Roger Brandvold and CEO Jim Hopson.

The first time was in 1995 and it was a very cosy affair as people coming into the city for the game taken in by residence of Regina because Regina at the time did not have enough hotels to hold the fans that came in for the game. The game also mark the first and only time that a team from the US came over the boarder and took the Grey Cup back over the boarder with them when the Baltimore Stallions beat the Calgary Stampeders 37 to 20 with Tracey Ham putting up 213 yards through the air and was named MVP of the game. The wind at Taylor field got as strong as 85 KM a hour and the game ended up being called the wind bowl.

The second time around was in 2003 by which time the city Regina had a number of hotels with lots of rooms and where more able to support the mop of fans coming into the city for the all week party leading up to the 91 Grey Cup and Edmonton Eskimos beat the Montreal Alouettes (who were the Stallions who had moved to Montreal right after winning the Grey Cup in '95) 34-22. Jason Trucker was award the MVP of the game with a 7 catch performance for 132 yards and Ricky Ray went 22 for 32 for 301 while the all-time CFL passer Anthony Calvillo went 22 of 37 for 371 yards and Montreal RB Mike Pringle who is the all-time rushing leader broke the all-time rushing yards record in the Grey Cup which was 359 by Leo Lewis.

The 2013 Grey Cup will be an extreme party and it is about time that Saskatchewan host another Grey Cup and they are left behind by the need for Cities like Toronto and Vancouver who need the cash cow more than the Riders do to survive in the league.

Go Riders Go
