Selena Gomez fails to break out of the disney shadows

So Selena Gomez for some reason or another that being apart of a somewhat more realistic look at what happens on spring break was a good idea and signed onto be apart of the movie "spring breakers". The thing that Miss Gomez is trying to do is shad the image of being in the Disney machine or simply get some sun by getting out of the shadows of the Disney franchise that many have tried and maybe one or two actually have succeed in doing. In the movie Gomez really does not changed as she is a devoted Christian that get their money for the trip by her friends holding up a restaurant as she sits driving a car that they got "borrowed" from a professor that does not know about. When they get to St. pete's she is talking with her grandma and saying how get it is and that they should come down together next year while the visuals of bobbies and drinking is shown. When her and her four fiends end up in jail and then get bailed out by a sleazy but not so bright con man played by James Franco Gomez immediately says I want out and is on the first bus back to college. At that point Gomez should just move on and count her money because the movie was not for her attendance and really did not help her and not time she needs to find a better character to play and not be the center of attention and maybe just like her choice of moving away from the soon-to-be train wreck known as Justin Bieber it will be a great choice. So I hope that Selena becomes the next Shia LaBeouf's who got out of the shadows of Disney's Even Stevens by being apart of Disturbia and then getting the job of a lifetime in the Transformers movie. Instead of the next Vanessa Hudgens who has gone from the Fame of High school Musical to being apart of this movie and getting out out just before the sex scenes start by being shot and sent on the next buss back to college where she wonders if she will ever be an adult star and it has already been 5 years since the end of the music. The movie in the end was supposed to be a drama but Franco and his guns turn it into a comedy enough said Tom Mehegan

Johny Hendricks wants GSP in Canada

Johny Hendricks gave Carlos Condit all he could handle by taken Condit a tremendous 11 times in the 15 minute match that went the distance and Hendricks won an unanimous decision. Still Condit was still able to get up time after time and Condit on his feet went blow for blow with the stronger Hendricks who tried to knock Condit out and is unable to do so and he ends up likely breaking his left hand on the cage a couple of times according to Hendricks. The last part is even more surprising when Hendricks at the end of the fight Hendricks said that he wanted GSP back here in 5 month mostly meaning Canada because it is unlikely to go right back to Montreal so Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver. He then said if that does not work he will find a ref and come to GSP and they can figure and a way to settle it and Hendricks coming into the match got cheered and at the end Condit was cheered at the end and Hendricks as the No. 1 contender for the light heavyweight championship. It was the hands down fight of the night and they got a standing O from the crowd after each and every round of the match. GSP dominated Nick Diaz from start to finish and in GSP style it went the distance and GSP took the match 50-45 and after the match he thanked Diaz for hyping the fight after the match and now GSP has a decision to make between fighting Anderson Silva at a catch weight or Johny Hendricks for the title. In the end Dana White will have a say in the matter especially if he can get his hands on Cowboy stadium in mid til late August before the NFL season starts up he would do everything in his power to get Silva and GSP to put their names on a contract as both WWE and UFC are fighting to get into the Stadium as it sits over 100,000 fans. If they can not get the stadium then it would be the title fight between GSP and Hendricks Tom Mehegan

Nick Diaz says that GSP is not tested by the UFC

Nick Diaz after driving GSP nuts at the press conference for UFC 158 today was asked to talk on Toronto's Sportsnet 590, the fan to talk with the Tim and Sid show and he came on and was introduced and then he simple went off for 5-10 minutes. During this time he rambled on about how Dana White talked about how George wanted to fight Nick and Nick did not believe it and he talked about how Americans wanted to be knocked out and that UFC and George are making him out to be a bad guy and the reality is that he is just a guy fighting and that he wishes that he did not have to fight. When he was actually asked a question it was do U really think GSP on steroids and Nick said that he was on a number of Steroids and that he is not tested and if he was he would a bottle of pee in his pocket (clean pee) and that the UFC is not wanting to have their Canadian poster boy have a dirty test just like with Lance Armstrong. When asked if Nick could guarantee that he would come up clean if tested and he said that could not because he might test positive for marijuana and it simple something he needs to do to put food on his family's plates and if he did not have to do it he would not be fighting but it is the way he can make a good living. The interview would be on the main page of the Fan 590 homepage or the 3 o'clock hour of the show for March 14,2013 @ fan590.ca/timandsid podcast or on itunes @ timandsid for March 14,2013 and it was the about 15 minutes into the 3 o'clock hour Tom Mehegan

NHL teams struggling for fans and the Leafs roll along

So the NHL attendance is sinking like a stone in the weaker markets like Florida, Islanders, Blue Jackets, Panthers, and even now the Avalanche is joining the ranks of the not drawing flies. For the players this means that they will have to put aside even more of their hard earned money to help the weaker sisters of the league because they have been putting money aside to help balance the books and it has not been enough. But look on the bright side the revenue will go up next season as the Leafs have decided to raise their ticket prices by 2.5% for next season as everything is rosy down on Bay street as the owners will get richer and richer but for the fans they get stepped on and spat at once again. This is because the Leafs still are 8.5 mil under the cap and still struggling to stay in the playoff picture with miss mash of talent and the factors of the ownership, tam performance, and the local media are scaring away the better players like Nash, Stamkos, and even Travers have no interest in coming to the big smoke as they would rather stay in a big American market or a sunny vacation spots where the media is much less interested in them than in Toronto. The Leafs being able to raise prices without positive results will be a great example that they will never ever allow another team to locate to the city because competition would lose them a large part of their fan base which would put a dent in their profits. This means that the hopes and dreams of Markham getting an expansion team is never ever going to happen even though I would love it because it would hurt the leafs and not hurt the Sabres. Hurting the Sabres would be a bad thing because if a team goes to lets say Hamilton it would help the renues for one team and the Sabres would become one of those weaker sisters. The NHL still spin their wheels in the wrong spots Tom Mehegan

Stompin' Tom gone but not forgotten

Wednesday Stompin' Tom Connors left us @ the young age of 77 but he will not be forgotten as he set the standard for a theme song for Canada's favorite sport of all time hockey with the iconic hockey song. He will be the center piece of this week's Saturday Night in Canada on CBC and it will have to start with the Hockey song and Don Cherry will wax poetic about the Saint Johns, New Brunswick born and who lived most of his life in the province of Ontario and city of Sudbury which wrote and song a song about Sudbury which turned into Sudbury Saturday Night. All the Canada teams in the NHL will do tributes to him with most of them with a minute of silent at their next home game and will play the hockey song during their games. In Toronto on Saturday night The Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby will be in town to face the Toronto Maple Leafs and they likely doing a opening ceremony as it is the game that gets carried nationally and will be one of the most watched opening ceremony in a long while as people who do not watch Hockey night in Canada starting with the pregame show @ 6:30 and will carry til at least 7:10-7:20 when the actual game starts. During the first intermission and coach;s corner will have another piece on Stompin' Tom befor Don Cherry talks about the Marc Staal innocent and Senators' David Dziurzynski being ko'd by the Leafs' Frazer McLaren. He will always be remembered by Canadians from coast to coast for his songs Tom Mehegan

Thing to do on a non leaf saturday night

So for the first time in a very long time that Leafs team that Toronto calls a "hockey team" is not playing on a Saturday during the regular season so Leafs fans are probably losing their minds on what to do with their 7 til quarter to 19 time slot on a Saturday night. So I have some suggestions: - wash your Leaf PJs along with your leaf jersey; - send a nice little twit to Jay Feaster thanking him and the whole management team for the Calgary Flames for being a worse ownership than the Leafs in Canada; - See how the little people u step over near 7 PM to get to the TV to watch the opening face off see how they are doing like the pets or the kids or both; - Take your better half out on the town and buy them a real meal not a value meal; - Watch so good hockey like Sidney vs Carey; -catch up on TV shows u have not been able to watch because the Leafs play at least if not 4 games a week in the shortened season; If like losing teams and Toronto the Raptors conclude their farewell to the playoff week by heading to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks; - come up with a song for the greatest Leaf of all-time Nazem Kadri; -Get your World baseball tournament brackets ready and make your final choices for your fantasy team for the tournament; In the end the reality is that the Leafs have played some of their best stretches of games this season compared to most in the last decade so ROH anniversary show here I come Tom mehegan
