Arron Hill loves cycling and Arizona
A week and a half ago Arron Hill shocked the baseball world by hitting for the cycle as he went 4 for 4 and finished with his eighth homer of the season against the Mariners and the Visalia, CA native last night said this is no fluke as he ended his game against the Brewers needing a triple to do it again and he did it with ease with really no contest at third. He has become the first player in over 80 years to actually accomplish this feet and he did it in his first hour at bats and had in the bag by the end of the sixth inning.
Kelly Johnson who was basically swapped late last season in a team optioned couple of seasons from the Jays in exchanged for Kelly Johnson and it has been a breath extremely fresh air as has hit .306 in 106 games with the Dimondbacks in just less than 400 at bats (122 for 399) after hitting .265 with Jays.
The most surprising thing is that he has 7 triples in those 106 games and that is because in his 875 games as a Blue Jay he had only 9 triples so he is using a lot more speed on the bases in Arizona. He is also more patient at the plate as he has 37 walks with the Dimondbacks while he only had 23 walks last season with the Jays in 104 games.
Arron's change has happened because of two things as it looks like the concussion situation in Toronto is in his rear view mirror and second the new environment in Arizona has allowed him to clear his head and allowed him to become a more x-base hitter. In the same amount of games he would be on pace for more doubles (44) than his best season in Toronto (37) and has become less concerned of the long ball and even though he would of had half the homers (19) compared to his best season with the Jays (36) but just short of his total bases in Toronto (340) with his triples and doubles (306).
Arizona is very happy with their second baseman

AMC Canada sells off their movie theaters to Cineplex and Empire Theatres
Cineplex has bought up four AMC movie theaters in Canada after a month ago a group from China named Dalian Wanda Group bought up the AMC in the states for a huge price tag of 2.6 billion dollars. The big center piece of the deal is the Yonge Dundas AMC that is in the heart of Toronto and is a hot bed for prime times as it has held numerous Movie premiere. It is across from Dundas Square where they could hold Red carpet activities and it is beside the Eaton Center so lets just say that there is a lot of people around. It really does not mean a lot to Cineplex as they have a lot of theaters and will bring up their profit margin but it is a sad day for the theater goers as right now the Yonge Dundas AMC has a great promotion going on as they have 6 dollar movies before noon just is less than the 13.50 dollars after noon and they still have refill of large popcorn/drink combo that Cineplex has already stopped doing. The rest of the things about the same as they have the same products and pricing as Cineplex has and have a lot of stuff around it as right below AMC they have a food court with a lot of different choices of food for right after going to the movies along with Jack Astors right next door.
The other three theaters were AMC Winston Churchill 24 in Oakville, AMC Courtney Park 16 in Mississauga, and the Montreal’s 22-screen AMC Forum complex all from a Kansas City-AMC Entertainment. AMC Canada has has also sold AMC Whitby 24 in Toronto and AMC Kanata 24 in Ottawa to Empire Theatres Ltd and still have two more theaters in Canada and are looking for buyers for their last two theaters which are AMC Interchange 30 and AMC Kennedy Commons 24.
AMC has been very nice to movie goers but with the selling of AMC in the states created the selling off of AMC Canada

Kevin Steen rips New York a new one while Adam Cole can't find his teeth
It was a great ippv with best part being that it went off without any technical difficulties which makes me very happy because with parts of their at least three or four paid programs having something go wrong it was nice to see them fix the problem but have they lost too much of their viewership over the last six month.
but this is how the show mostly played out:
The Main event was a no disqualification match between Davey Richards and Kevin Steen where lots of chairs and tables and including both ROH Refs and announcer were all taken out of action. Davey Richards got down Steen for a 20 count but because there were no Refs available and then Zombie Princess came in with his pik to set up Richards and Cornette came in and took out him and Corino came in and took out Cornette and tried to attack Richards with his pik but Richards got it. Then Steen had one hiding in his boot or something and attacked first and a Ref woke up to count the three.
The best part of the main event was Steen at the end basically saying the crowd turns on every champ and they eat it up like it was their last meal. Also he talked about how they chant for Punk and Danielson and that both do not remember ROH and crowd chanted Yes while Steen chanted No and the crowd followed him and he said the crowd will not turn on him because he does not care about them.
Mike Bennett started the second half with a public service announcement where he stated that the only way he would wrestle if he was a world title match and then him and Maria Kanellis had a make out session until Mike Mondo came out and stated he had not wrestled in New York and he has always dreamed of wrestle in ballroom. Then they started a surprise match and Mondo won the match from a roll up and Bennett was furious about losing the match and ended up leaving without Maria and Brutal Bob who left the ring behind Bennett.
Then it was the triple threat for the TV title between Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal, and Tommaso Ciampa and it was mostly Strong and Lethal battled in the ring as they went back and forth while Ciampa was out of the match for most of the match. Ciampa did a honor or the king and then Lethal did it as it was a tribute to Macho Man and Ciampa was the first to be eliminated as Prince Nana rolled into the ring and rolled into the back of Ciampa who was about to eliminate Strong and then Strong pinned Ciampa and then with help from the book of truth he pinned Lethal immediately to keep the title.
All Night Express beat the World greatest tag team as they tried to get WGT disqualified by given them a chair and going down. The end of the match Kenny King was down and out and it looked like he was finished but WGT took to long and King recovered and they began their reign as tag team champs.
The moment of the first half of best in the world 2012 was Kyle O'Reilly kicking Adam Cole in the mouth and planned spot because Kevin Kelly had mentioned at the beginning of the match that Cole decided to not have a mouth guard and O'Reilly did wear one and two teeth fell out of Cole's mouth and bleed buckets. Nigel and Kevin kept hammering the point of Cole losing his teeth and bleeding buckets and Cole and O'Reilly battled for quite a while and both were almost down for the ten count and O'Reilly beat down Cole but Cole got a submission on O'Reilly and won the match. After the match Cole wanted to bury their differences but O'Reilly attacked him instead and after the match they were really putting over the point of how muck courage Cole had and said they would check on Cole later.
Another moment was Michael Elgin telling Truth and Strong to stay back and not interfere with the match and Strong just reminded Elgin that he had already beat Fit Finley. So when the match began Elgin came out without Truth or Strong and it was a battle between Finley and Elgin and it went back and forth with Finley beating down Elgin and later Elgin just overpowered Finley which shocked him. The end was when Finley got the upper hand and Elign reversed it into fall away slam for the victory and Truth came out at the end like he won the match to continue the breakup of Michael Elgin and the HoT and Elgin and Finley shook hands at the end of the match against the wishes of Turth.

Staal brothers back together in Carolina
Jordan Staal was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for the eighth overall pick in the 2012 draft pick (Brian Dumoulin) along with Brandon Sutter who will fit a third line center role on the Penguins. They also got defenceman Brian Dumoulin in the deal and the fans cheered the deal as it was in Pittsburgh and it makes sense for the Penguins as they got a lot of players for a player that just turned down a 10 year deal to keep him apart of the penguins long term.
It is a great deal for the Hurricanes is that he will be teamed up with older brother and the captain of the Hurricanes Eric Staal and will put them on a line together and will be able to read each other's mind and will be able to take Eric to the next level and Eric has put up 70 to a 82 points in the last 6 seasons. With Eric and Jordan together may get Eric closer to his career high of 100 points in 05-06 and Jordan will take his game to the next step and it will help the Hurricanes get back into the playoff hunt behind the goalkeeping of Cam Ward.
Also it will be very interesting to see what kind of mischief the brothers will get into in Carolina because Eric's bachelor five years ago was a complete mess and it has been the most embarrassing time in both of their NHL career.
Jordan Staal who got married today will get a huge contract from the Hurricanes as he will be a restricted free agent after next season

Arsenio Hall is back on the talk show circuit
Arsenio Hall after winning NBC Celebrity Apprentice is heading back to late night TV as his talk show will be on Air Fall of 2013 and this time it will by on CBS.
Arsenio Hall had his first talk show in 1989 when Johnny Gill and his song "Where Do We Go from Here" which was a No. 1 hit and was not able to get on Johnny Carson and Gill talked Hall about this and that got Hall to go to the brand new national TV station Fox. Another big moment in the show's history between 1989-94 was when presidential candidate in 1992 Bill Clinton played Heart Break Hotel on his saxophone and it was apart of him becoming the president of the united states of america.
Now the question will be will he have the same impact on the not mainstream tip like he did back in the day but now with so many Talk shows on TV and with the internet it will be much harder to find the next big thing in Comedy, TV, or even in music. It will be very interesting to see how Hall will build his new talk show and the direction he will head in to put himself on the talk show circuit.
The dogg pound will be back

David Stern was embarrassment on the Jim Rome show
David Stern was on the Jim Rome radio show and with one statement just throw game one of the NBA finals in the garbage because when he said to Rome "have U stop beaten your life" and everybody focused on the Stern statement. The conversation began with Rome saying "Is the fix in for the lottery" and Stern said "I have two answers for U and I will go with short answer No and shame on U for asking that question". Rome then came back with "It is an honest question that a lot of people want to know the answer to" and while Rome is saying this U could her Stern in the background say "have U stop beaten your wife yet" and because he did not get a response from Rome he said it again when Rome finished talking and Rome said "he did not need to answer that question".At this point in the interview thing broke down and they began going back and forth for another 3 minutes and it ended with Stern saying that Rome has made a living off of cheap thrills which Rome took offence to and Stern said "do U want to hang up on me" and Rome said "I never hang up on U but we are running out of time". Stern finished with "I have to call someone important like Steven A Smith who is next on my list" and Rome said " I guess I will talk to someone".
The Reality is that if Stern had caught himself after his first time saying "have U stop beaten your wife" then it may have been a discussion but the audio is not great so there would be a question of what he really said. This would of allowed him to quietly blow it off and not have to answer up for it like owning the Thunder and blocking the Lakers trade for Chris Paul. When he said it again when Rome was not talking then the stuff hit the fan and he immediately became a black eye for the NBA and will have to apologize to Rome and NBA fans everywhere and he may take a hit in the wallet under pressure of some NBA owners.
It is time for Stern to own up for his mistakes

Manitoba grocery prices sicking to see
Northern Manitoba has extremely high grocery prices in an Inuit community in Nunavut, Manitoba and are not 5 or 10% increase or double normal prices but instead it is 400-500% on a bag of apples that are priced at 15 dollar while what would be a 2 dollar jug of water is 12 dollars and surprise surprise they do not have water coming from a sink. The only reasonable priced product is milk which is where a 5 dollar carton of milk goes for 7 dollars and the grocery store gets a subsidence from the Canadian Government. If someone has a baby and need diapers they can get 84 for 73 dollars which is a 500% increase and have they want fresh fruit they can buy red peppers for 17 dollar/kilogram which is completely outrageous and something needs to be done because someone is making huge bucks as they are the only show around and people spend 600 dollars on groceries a week when most people could spend for high quality products may spend 150 or 175 for the same stuff.
It is extremely bad example of capitalism and the government needs to step in and correct the prices because I do not care if the products need to be flown in instead of driven in but the prices still should not be anywhere near where they are right now. It also shows how greedy some people can be and their profits are never high enough for them and it is completely sick and they do not need government assistance but someone needs to step in and simply correct the prices.
If it was going on in other places in North America things would have been changed a long time ago just like in Ontario, Canada when they put a watch dog in to bring down the price of gas

NBA finals of Thunder/Heat maybe a long lasting rivalry battling for many titles
The not one, not two, not three .... not seven but eight championship Heat are in their second straight Finals appearance and this time they up against the very youthful Thunder from OKC who have already have finished off the last three western conference team to be crowned NBA champs as they took down last seasons Champs in the first round in sweeping away the Mavs in four, then they took down the 2010 champs in the Lakers in five games, and finally finished off the 2007 champs in five games as took down the Spurs.
It has been to completely different ways to get to the finals as the Thunder used late comebacks to take games as they rallied in the fourth quarter in both the first and last game against the Mavs. Then they took games away from the Lakers as they were down by 8 with two minutes left in game three and scored the last 10 points as Durant and Harden combine to score the last 10 points. In game four they closed the game on a 18-6 run lead by Durant who had 7 of the last 11 Thunder points and ran away with game 5 as a 6 point lead going into the fourth turned into a 16 point victory as Westbrook and Durant had 8 points each in the fourth quarter. Then after the Spurs won their 20th straight game and a 2-0 lead the Thunder just schooled them winning the last 4 games of the series as the Spurs fought and just could not get over the hump.
While in Miami it has been a playoffs of no Bosh and then he comes back he only plays the first half of game 5 and then after the lose he throws his head coach under the bus and drives it over him at full speed over and over again when he said he could of played more minutes and was hoping to get more minutes the next game. LBJ played 92 of the last 96 minutes of the Heat/Celtics series as put up 76 points and 27 boards and in game 6 became the second guy behind Wilt to ever record 45-15-5 in a playoff game. The Heat playoff run will be remembered by twitter @AAAExtinguisher when Amar'e Stoudemire punched it after game two of the Heat and Knicks opening round series and then after game 5 in Miami after game 5 of the Heat/Celtics series a 9 year-old named Jack Meyer could be heard yelling "good job, good effort" to the Heat as they walked off the court after losing the game and the phrase was diffidently trending on twitter.
The Series will also put up a three-time MVP in LBJ against a three-time in Kevin Durant who had their different ways to announce their signing a contract as LBJ in July of 2010 had a hour special to announce he was taken his talents to south beach while Durant at the same time quietly used less than 140 characters on twitter to announce he was signing a 5 year extension with OKC. So in their different ways of getting the same message across LBJ is one of the most hated people in Basketball while Durant is the poster boy of everything good about the NBA.
With the ages and talent of both teams this maybe the next rivalry in the NBA as they might battle for championships for seasons just like the Celtics and Lakers did in the 80's and the Bulls and Pistons did in the late 80's/early 90's

Eaton Centre shooting is a huge tragedy
Saturday day was a tragedy of a day at the Eaton Centre in a very crowded food court called the Urban Eatery when a 23-year-old named Christopher Husbands who had just gotten out of jail, after serving a jail sentence for an incident that happened during the Summer of the gun in 2005, and was for retribution and opened fire as he tried and succeeded to kill 24-year-old Ahmed Hassan and injured another member of the same gang as Hassan. This shooting started with a shooting and altercation at Alexandra Park and the argument moved to the Eaton Centre where a 13-year-old boy was caught in the crossfire and had to be rushed to Sick Kids Hospital and had to go into emergence head surgery and thankfully he is doing well and alert and talking which is awesome. A 23-year-old is also in hospital and there were 5 other people hurt by the bullets or in the case of a pregnant woman who was trampled by the people in the food court trying to get out of the Urban Eatery before being hit with a bullet.
This shooting at the Eaton Centre is the worst shooting in Toronto in the last 18 years since the Just Desserts shooting that killed Georgina Leimonis who was killed by a stray bullet will she was out for a bite to eat and simply was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is the scariest thing to happen to Toronto in a very long time and it maybe a big black eye for the city and may make the Eaton Centre not the most comfortable place to be for the next little while but in the end it is hopefully an isolated incident and hopefully things do not turn into the summer of the gun II.
The Eaton Centre is opened again and Urban Eatery will be opened again on Tuesday
