Kevin Steen rips New York a new one while Adam Cole can't find his teeth
It was a great ippv with best part being that it went off without any technical difficulties which makes me very happy because with parts of their at least three or four paid programs having something go wrong it was nice to see them fix the problem but have they lost too much of their viewership over the last six month.
but this is how the show mostly played out:
The Main event was a no disqualification match between Davey Richards and Kevin Steen where lots of chairs and tables and including both ROH Refs and announcer were all taken out of action. Davey Richards got down Steen for a 20 count but because there were no Refs available and then Zombie Princess came in with his pik to set up Richards and Cornette came in and took out him and Corino came in and took out Cornette and tried to attack Richards with his pik but Richards got it. Then Steen had one hiding in his boot or something and attacked first and a Ref woke up to count the three.
The best part of the main event was Steen at the end basically saying the crowd turns on every champ and they eat it up like it was their last meal. Also he talked about how they chant for Punk and Danielson and that both do not remember ROH and crowd chanted Yes while Steen chanted No and the crowd followed him and he said the crowd will not turn on him because he does not care about them.
Mike Bennett started the second half with a public service announcement where he stated that the only way he would wrestle if he was a world title match and then him and Maria Kanellis had a make out session until Mike Mondo came out and stated he had not wrestled in New York and he has always dreamed of wrestle in ballroom. Then they started a surprise match and Mondo won the match from a roll up and Bennett was furious about losing the match and ended up leaving without Maria and Brutal Bob who left the ring behind Bennett.
Then it was the triple threat for the TV title between Roderick Strong, Jay Lethal, and Tommaso Ciampa and it was mostly Strong and Lethal battled in the ring as they went back and forth while Ciampa was out of the match for most of the match. Ciampa did a honor or the king and then Lethal did it as it was a tribute to Macho Man and Ciampa was the first to be eliminated as Prince Nana rolled into the ring and rolled into the back of Ciampa who was about to eliminate Strong and then Strong pinned Ciampa and then with help from the book of truth he pinned Lethal immediately to keep the title.
All Night Express beat the World greatest tag team as they tried to get WGT disqualified by given them a chair and going down. The end of the match Kenny King was down and out and it looked like he was finished but WGT took to long and King recovered and they began their reign as tag team champs.
The moment of the first half of best in the world 2012 was Kyle O'Reilly kicking Adam Cole in the mouth and planned spot because Kevin Kelly had mentioned at the beginning of the match that Cole decided to not have a mouth guard and O'Reilly did wear one and two teeth fell out of Cole's mouth and bleed buckets. Nigel and Kevin kept hammering the point of Cole losing his teeth and bleeding buckets and Cole and O'Reilly battled for quite a while and both were almost down for the ten count and O'Reilly beat down Cole but Cole got a submission on O'Reilly and won the match. After the match Cole wanted to bury their differences but O'Reilly attacked him instead and after the match they were really putting over the point of how muck courage Cole had and said they would check on Cole later.
Another moment was Michael Elgin telling Truth and Strong to stay back and not interfere with the match and Strong just reminded Elgin that he had already beat Fit Finley. So when the match began Elgin came out without Truth or Strong and it was a battle between Finley and Elgin and it went back and forth with Finley beating down Elgin and later Elgin just overpowered Finley which shocked him. The end was when Finley got the upper hand and Elign reversed it into fall away slam for the victory and Truth came out at the end like he won the match to continue the breakup of Michael Elgin and the HoT and Elgin and Finley shook hands at the end of the match against the wishes of Turth.
