Staal brothers back together in Carolina
Jordan Staal was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for the eighth overall pick in the 2012 draft pick (Brian Dumoulin) along with Brandon Sutter who will fit a third line center role on the Penguins. They also got defenceman Brian Dumoulin in the deal and the fans cheered the deal as it was in Pittsburgh and it makes sense for the Penguins as they got a lot of players for a player that just turned down a 10 year deal to keep him apart of the penguins long term.
It is a great deal for the Hurricanes is that he will be teamed up with older brother and the captain of the Hurricanes Eric Staal and will put them on a line together and will be able to read each other's mind and will be able to take Eric to the next level and Eric has put up 70 to a 82 points in the last 6 seasons. With Eric and Jordan together may get Eric closer to his career high of 100 points in 05-06 and Jordan will take his game to the next step and it will help the Hurricanes get back into the playoff hunt behind the goalkeeping of Cam Ward.
Also it will be very interesting to see what kind of mischief the brothers will get into in Carolina because Eric's bachelor five years ago was a complete mess and it has been the most embarrassing time in both of their NHL career.
Jordan Staal who got married today will get a huge contract from the Hurricanes as he will be a restricted free agent after next season
