Rookie quarterbacks will be everywhere in 2013
With Indy saying finding a franchise quarterback is so easy why doesn't more teams get one, in Seattle they are saying who is Matt Flynn and why are we paying him so much, In Cincy they have nightmares about Carson Palmer and then they wake up and realize he in the black hole and smile. Carolina is still drinking the juice but it is not as sweet as last year, and in Washington they are saying this RG3 is not a sandwich, not a not a drink, not a billboard but a football player and he can actually play that's awesome.
So with the likes of Andrew Luck in Indy, Robert Griffin III in the nation's capital, Andy Dalton in Cincy, Cam Newton in Carolina, and Russell Wilson in Seattle and all are either finishing their first or second season in the league and four of the five quarterbacks are making the playoffs with Dalton doing in back-to-back seasons which is a miracle in its self in Cincy.
With this trend on a huge roll with even Christian Ponder making the playoffs behind 2,097 rushing yards from Ardian Peterson who fell just short of Eric Dickerson's season rushing record and was charging very hard down the stretch it is not a stretch that 5 or 6 quarterbacks go in the first 40 to 45 picks in this year's draft. With teams like KC, Oakland, Tennessee, Cards, and the Jets jumping into the rookie quarterback pool to go after the likes of Glenn Smith, Matt Barkley, Tyler Wilson Aaron Murray, Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon, and even Tyler Bray making teams drool and make them go a lot higher than they should. The Bills should be in the market but they go for the best all around athletes and will end up with another running back and will become the first non computerized team to run every play while Jacksonville would be at the top of the list for quarterback but will likely go for selling tickets which is also important so they will get on the Tebow crazy train.
It maybe a quick burst of the rookie bubble as the copy cat teams in a copy cat sport will be burned and will lose another few seasons trying to fix their problematic teams

Carly Ray Jepsen a breakout star in 2012
Carly Ray Jepsen had a year that most people could only dream of it started with a very interesting video for her first hit of the Summer "Call me maybe" where she likes a guy and in the end he just wants to hang out with her brother. This turns into one of the most watched videos on YouTube with over 370 million views in 10 month and has spun of numerous parodies from the Dolphin Cheerleaders to the US Olympic team to everyone in-between. Then the song can be heard everywhere all Summer long and it simply the song of the summer and nothing was as strong all Summer. She then follows that up with a duet with her friend Owl City called "Good Time" which kept her on the music map and is even before she released her CD this year called "Kiss" that was released on September 14, 2012 and sold 46,000 copies in the first week in the US and 8,000 copies in Canada while her song "call me maybe" has over a million buys on itunes in the US alone.
She started her 2012 with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez hearing Call me maybe on the radio while in Canada and soon was signed to Justin's Schoolboy Records and by the end of the year was at the biggest party in Canada as apart of the 100th Grey Cup as a halftime act. She toured with Justin the second half of the year to sold out crowds and she has picked up a number of awards this year for call me maybe.
This is from a lady who just turned 27 and looks a lot younger than that who had paid her dues in Canada as she auditioned for Canadian idol in 2007 and finished third and will go down as one of the famous Canadian contestants. She put her music out there for years in Canada and had mild air play in Canada for her songs "Tug of War" and "Bucket" and were on her debut album called "Tug of War" and was released late in 2008. She also mentioned in Owl City's song "Vanilla Sky" in 2009 and made a cameo in the video along with the likes of basketball player Shaq O'Neil.
Now Carly future like most others will be doing the very popular disappearing act as it is extremely hard to keep your image and music in the main stream but she will continue to make music that will be played in Canada but who knows if it will catch on anywhere else and she will likely become a judge when the Canadian version of the Voice appears on my TV screen or maybe if it reappears maybe Canadian Idol which put to the side a few years ago.
Hope everyone has a great new year

Michael Pinball Clemons foundation continues to build school
Micheal Pinball Clemons who name is bigger than the team which he used to play for the Toronto Argos decided to go on a trip to Africa years ago and on the trip he found that their were no proper schools there. This started a huge snowball as he decided to start up a foundation to raise money to build schools and in a short period of time like three years he setup a goal to build 131 schools and as of right now he has raised over 140 schools. The schools will be spread out to 7 resourced countries that need schools and on top of the schools that people, companies, and communities have raised the needed 8500 dollars to build a school the foundation has also raised over 400,000 dollars for other charities in the Toronto area. These charities are Habitat for Humanity who build houses in the Toronto area, a scholarship at George Brown College which is given out to multiply students, Sky's the limit who provides computers to families in the Jane and Finch area, and the Ronald MacDonald House Home for Dinner program that support the families staying at the to be close to their ill or recovering child.
The foundation had a number of people donate a school in the name of their family or their child(ren) but on top of that Pinball has been selling shirts at argos game to raise enough money to build a school or two or three.
In the end Pinball Foundation which is at MPCF.ca has done at a lot of fund raising and it shows who much of a mane Pinball has in Toronto and he uses it for the good of others which is amazing. He will likely run for mayor of Toronto within the next 10 years and would likely win and be a great mayor for the city.
Happy Holidays everyone

Brooklyn Brawler wins in Brooklyn
The WWE talking all night about almost 16 thousand in Brooklyn and at first that it was the first ever WWE appearance in Brooklyn but by the end of the night it was called the first PPV in Brooklyn at least for the WWE. The crowd was the loudest best crowd for a WWE event in a long time and were hot everything and that included an in prom to Miz TV where Miz came out and talked about how he asks great questions and in the end the show turns into a train wreck because of the guest and said that his guest at this time were a train wreck and then announced 3MB (three man band, baby) who came down to the ring and started jumping on tables and couches. The end of Miz TV was that 3MB went to ring side and talked to the Spanish announce team and told them they needed to speck American and started to push them around until Ricardo Rodriguez came out to protect them and 3MB started pushing Rodriguez around until Alberto Del Rio showed up and battled all three of them and with Miz just watching in the ring they all ended up in the ring a member of 3MB pushed Miz to get him involved and they cleared the band out of the ring. Then 3MB said U two get a partner and we will fight U later and that is when the fans started a we want Ryder woo,woo,woo chant but when it was time for the match Miz announced that it was a local not from any other part of New York but Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Brawler came out to a huge pop. So u had Del Rio as a babyface in the match and if that was not weird enough they had the Brooklyn Brawler in a DeRion Williams Brooklyn Net jersey come out and put the Boston Crab on a member of the band and Miz, Del Rio, and even the Brooklyn Brawler won the match and Brawler ended on the turnbuckle celebrating the victory with Miz beside him.
In other results it was a shocking turn events in the main event of the evening that would leave the Brooklyn crowd very happy as in the ladder match for Dolph Ziggler's MITB briefcase the very anti-Cena crowd got what hey wanted as the Jersey Girl as Cena was going up for the case pushed it over to allow Ziggler to keep his case. So now the questions have to asked tomorrow night to A.J. after Cena is on Tomorrow's Good Morning America and the show either start with Cena or A.J. and both in the end will be in the ring and maybe A.J. maybe in love with Ziggler or helping Vicki for a chance at the title that Eve still wears.
The Good of the show was the booking for the Shield who actually buried Kane in the match by thrown everything on top of him midway through the match and was there for the rest of the match in which they had 3-on-1 attacks on everyone and where very strong. The end of the match was two members of the shield putting there finisher on Bryant wfor the victory while Reyback throw the third member at the top of the ramp off a 15 foot ladder.
The Bad was the announce team of the King, JBL, and Cole4 who all night were trying to one up each other with their pons and they all messed up words and forgot about the matches by trying to be the star of the show.
The ugly will be the Wrestlers in the morning because they all took huge beatings last night and thankfully for them tomorrow there is not a lot of matches with the slammys happening at least less than usually and it is so sad that the announcers tried to steal the show again.
All in all A.J. will be the story going forward

house of truth is finished
The final act of the house of truth was at the start of final battle '12 as Micheal Elign battled Roddrick Strong and it took Truth Martini a long time to show up for the match. When he showed up he cheered both sides when had the upper hand and was hoping to leave with the winner and he decided who was going to win the match by throwing the book of Truth into the ring for Roddick Strong but the first time Strong went for the book Elign stepped on it so Strong could not get it. Then Elign picked strong up to power bomb him but when he did Strong was able to pick up the book and hit Elign in the face with the book just before he was powered bomb and Strong got the three count to pick up the win in the match.
After the match Martini made a huge ring announcer winning call sad the winner of the match is the only member of house of Truth and Strong then made sure Truth remembered that he was finished with Martini and left the ring. Then Truth got into the face of Micheal Elign and said that he had been slapped in the face by Strong and Elign and then showed Elign what a slap in the face ia by slapping him in the face. Elign destroyed Truth and with a power bomb out of the ring and he left Truth for dead and set himself for a run with the world title run in the new year.
Rhino which was the house of Truth bodyguard has ended up on Kevin Steen pay role as her was sent out to destroy Jay Lethal and in the match he lost to Jay Lethal but after the match Steve Corino came in to the ring to distract Lethal and it allowed Rhino to go for the Gore to make sure that Lethal was unable to get into the final match later in the day.
Elign will be a great next champ in ROH by beating Kevin Steen in 2013

Tim and sid's first anniversary at Rogers sportsnet
In the first year at Rogers Sportnet 590, the fan that started on December 12, 2011 Tim and Sid have taught us a lot and provided a lot of laugh in form of Edutainment including:
- The Pittsburgh Penguins medical staff is on the ball especially figuring out concussions especially to Sidney Crosby and Kris letang as they let both continue after they had suffered a concusion;
- Marc Spears loves the Jamaican horns because it is the main reason that continues to join the program;
- Sam Mitchell did not get put in an airplane spin by Vince Carter because Vince did not want to hit the weight room and he would not be able to do it;
- Vince Carter career is whining down and misses Toronto and would not mind to come back to finish his career and really did not want to leave in the first place (who really knows);
- Sid is great at name that tune and if he gets perfect he has run around the studio;
- The only way for Sid to get out of Bob McCown's black book of guest to never be on his show is unwillingness to spend money as he refused to take Canada against Honduras and earned his way back on the big show;
- They did take a few calls and still did not work out the way Sid wanted and they have gone back to calls;
- Jeffrey Loria is one of the worst owners in sports as was responsible for the Montreal Expos to leave town and then took Miami tax payers money for the new stadium and then built up the team and then trade it all to Toronto;
- Tim who is healthy gets more sick than Sid who is allergic to fitness and working out;
- Rogers their new employer bought up their former employer the score and Tim will be back doing OUA football next fall;
- They still do not like anything with the letters T-S-N and simply refer to them as the three letter they also call ESPN the four letter and will have nothing to with a Bell product;
- a lot less kinds of horns then when they started as the fat horns and CSI horns are not used anymore;
- Micheal Grange and Clinton Portis Siy are hugely played especially when calling Raptors or NHL lockout;
- There is no party like an Azzopardi a.k.a. Jeff Azzopardi producer and host of the final block of the program with rapid fire;
- Sid loves gravy and the rogers cafe;
- they are missed when they are on vacation and Joey Vendetta takes the reigns;
- Even when afternoon Jays baseball is on their live prod cast is more interesting and the Jays usually lose too;
- Tim is the rock and the brains of the operation and Sid is the clown of the operation and is still very educated on sports and TV;
- Sid still has not put foot in his mouth like he did at the score and thankfully has not been fired a year in;
- Them talking CBA is totally boring especially when they make every other subject so funny to listen to;
- #timandsidwinterclassic was trending and #timandsidBills was not even close to trending;
-Toronto a Leaf town not a hockey town;
- their tweeter questions are so funny and their listeners come up with great responses;
Tim and Sid as funny as they were on the the Score radio and have a lot more listeners now and have left the three letter radio in Toronto in their dust

NFL should move back the Chiefs/Panthers game
The NFL is still going on with the Kansas City Chief and Carolina Panthers game today even after Chiefs starting linebacker Jovan Belcher committed suicide Saturday morning after shooting his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins who is the mother of his three month old child who was thankfully not harmed in today's violence. So it is a horrible thing that happened ans the question is why someone loses their mind completely and destroys everyone around them with no mind or reason of why it happens. The thing is with an athlete like a football player takes huge hits and gives huge hits which both may destroy brain cells i.e concussions which a huge problem in sports and no matter how much they try it is very hard to play and contact sport and be able to control concussions completely. It is all Belcher fault in the end as even though he is not around to answer the question of why is whole day happened and is the worst day in sports since Chris Benoit incident happened on June 24Th, 2007 who was a wrestler that killed his family before himself.
The NFL can handle this sensitive situation by not paying attention to Belcher but instead to Kassandra and the child who is now without a mother or father and maybe help set something up in the child's name like a scholarship for college or university. Also it would be the proper decision for the NFL to reschedule the game for Monday or Tuesday instead of Today because head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli where at the scene of Belcher himself and talked to him just before he pulled the tigger with police just arriving on the scene so neather of this gentlemen will be in any kind of mind set to be ready for the game. Also the Chiefs players may need a day or two to get counselling before they are ready for the game but to not play the game maybe a bad choice as it would put Jovan Belcher in the record for the reason for cancelling a game and that is not a good thing.
My prays and sympathy go out to Kasandra Perkins's family and best wishes go out to her child and hope it has a great life

The CFL does a great show with the 100Th grey Cup
It all started with the festival of the Grey Cup and I went to the Metro Convention centre and they had setup TV with highlights of past Grey Cup games and they had actual game warn equipment and Grey Cup winning team photos and that was even before U got to the team rooms where they had bands from the different provinces of the teams in the CFL and I went into the roughrider room and it was extremely cool. Also liven in Toronto actually see friendly mobs of CFL fans in their teams gear was endless and u could see a roughrider talking with a bluebomber fan and they even had autograph signing amd it was very well put together.
The actual production in the Rogers Centre was awesome as there was so much dead time with all the commercials breaks TSN took they filled them with spots of Gino Reda of showing and tallking about CFL hall of framers and it filled the time nicely and it game the breaks seem shorter than they actually were.
The performances were decent with Burton Cummings singing O' Canada and it was quite messy but because it was him people just sang with him and if it was someone different they would No. 2 it. Talking about No. twoing something Justin Bieber was destroyed starting with his picture on the big screen and when he closed the halftime show he was booed when if music started and then booed off the stage when he was finished as he sang Boyfriend and Beauty and the beat and in the end we will find out tomorrow when the overnight ratings from the Grey Cup come in and see how much more of an attendance he brought at halftime because that is why he was there. Carly Rat did both this kiss and call me maybe and did not get booed and it was a warm response at the end of her performance but it was her fellow BC natives Marianas Trench just were horrible and I do not know why they were there. Gordon Lightfoot sang a sung and he had Grey Cup performances on the screen and he was great and was the most liked of all by the actual crowd in the stands except that when the lights went out a lot of fans got up and headed to the exit.
There still were problems with the production and that was that when Brian Willams tried to speak we could not hear what he was actually saying and that is a shame as he is awesome. Also the shilling products all game got on some people's nerves but it is the big game and the CFL needs as much money as possible to support the Argos and Lions who are very unliked teams in Toronto and BC respectfully so it is a need that fans need to suck up as it happens in the Superbowl and that is even more commercial than the CFL and a lot less fan friendly.
The actual game it is nice that Toronto won as it give the city something to cheer about and if they do not riot I will be impressed and hope that next season ticket sales go up as it sucks to see nobody at games. Also it was very interesting that the west were on Toronto's side as they were against Calgary and with Saskatchewan being the ones with most of the tickets it was a pro Argo crowd and it was rocking and it looks like people there choice to get ticket this year as they are going to be easier to get then next season when it is in Saskatchewan.
Here's to a 100 more CFL

Calgary and their horse invade Toronto
So like most cities in Canada who have a team playing in the Grey Cup (CFL Holy grail) Calgary has shutdown for a five day week and a lot of them have made the trip to the Grey Cup city which is year is in Toronto for the 100Th cerebration of said cup. The folks of Calgary made some news locally in Toronto when they decided to bring a long a horse and to recreate the story of their first Grey Cup appearance in 1948 which took place in Toronto and just like that time they will also be playing the Argos from Toronto. So the story goes that in 1948 they arrived in Toronto on and got on the subway that took them to Royal York Station which happens to be under the Royal York Hotel and when the Subway car stopped at Royal York the doors opened and out came a horse that was rode into the Royal York Hotel. Then with this story being played up locally that it got back to Calgary and someone asked the Royal York if they could bring in their horse and they said no so this morning a ton of cameras and news people were outside the Royal York because it looked like even though they had said no they were still going to try to do it and his rider Calgary Grey Cup committee Chairman Fletcher Armstrong was refused but later in the day with PR mess on their hands the Royal York rolled out the red carpet for him outside the hotel and got to sign the guest book. Marty also a busy day going to a shopping mall and a local pub and all this shows how awesome the rest of Canada with the exceptions of BC and Toronto of the CFL and the cup who would rather have a NFL team than a CFL team.
It is awesome to have Calgary in town and they are bring the party which would not bw happening if the BC Lions were in town or Toronto had to provide the excitement for the event and will be taken over Nathan Phillip Square for the Calgary Tradition of the pancake breakfast on Saturday Morning. Will be taken over the Metro Convention which has parties for every team in the CFL but just like the Saskatchewan Roughriders in '07 took over the Convention center and made a party of it and it sparkled so brightly that they decided right then and there that Toronto was the place to be for the huge 100TH Grey Cup. So Calgary will be running down town Toronto from Thursday to Monday and will be well represented at the Grey Cup on Sunday as the tickets that were sold were not sold to people in Toronto even though they got first crack at them they did not buy them as I'm guessing that maybe 15 thousand tickets were bought starting the day after last season's Grey Cup for 100 hours to celebrate the 100TH Grey Cup.
Calgary will be spending the dough for tickers and who does not get tickets will get be able to see the game at select movie theaters in Toronto which will be awesome but not as awesome as me who is going to the game because I bought a ticket a year ago.
Lets party and have a great four days of CFL fun

survivor series '12 has a lot of filler
Punk is a year old with his title as he got three members of NXT to come out of the crowd and put out Reyback as they put him through the Spanish announce table so that Punk could pin Cena and that was the kind of night it was with nothing happening for 50 bucks.
As...
Big Show and Shamus was a waste of a title match or a match at all as it was all about the actions after the match where they setup a chair match as Shamus destroyed Big Show after Big Show was disqualified for putting the Ref in front of him to block the bro' kick. Then Show gave Shamus a knock out punch and one of the refs looking after the knocked out ref counted the three count on Shamus but another ref called for the DQ and Show kept the title. After the match Shamus went after Show with a chair on the ramp and Show begged for mercy and Shamus beat up Show with the chair to the point where Big Show was unable to walk backstage and it sets up a chair match at the TLC PPV next month.
Then....
In the big Survivor Series match David Otunga replaced Cody Rhoades who suffered a concussion last Wednesday on Main Event and Damien Sandow wanted nothing to do with the match and ended up being choke slam by Kane and then Kane and Bryant fought and Kane was immediately eliminated by Dolph Ziggler and the match came down to Randy Orton against both Ziggler and Del Rio and Randy pinned Del Rio and was set to RKO Ziggler after a reverse DDT and Ziggler played Unconscious and whwn Orton decided to go for the punt to the head and Ziggler finished Orton off to be the victor.
The show started with survivor series match of Brodus Clay with the high flies (mysterio and Sin Cara) and the team of Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel vs Prime Time Players, Primo and Epico, and Tensai. It had Brodus Vs Tensai to setup a feud with each other that Brodus will win with Tensai getting the pin tonight and the finish was that Brodus was the only good guy eliminated and Rey finished Young who was by himself.
Then Raw broke out...
The filler really was that we found out that Aksana was Kaitlyn attacker as she tried to attack again and Kaitlyn was ready for her backstage and pulled of the wig. In the match Kaitlyn really looked to have things in control until she went onto the apron outside of the ropes to get Eva but Eva pulled the ring apron sign and Kaitlyn fell to the floor and Eva got her into the ring for the 1,2,3. So that feud is over and Kaitlyn and Aksana will feud instead.
Also AJ had a RAW moment and did some photo shopped photos of Vicki and Vicki came out and AJ was saying maybe Vicki was hiding something and Vicki wanted to hit AJ but AJ said that she would lose her position if she did so. In the Tamina jumped AJ from behind and then splashed her and left so Vicki could laugh at AJ and is was not needed.

GSP barely holds onto his welterweight championship
GSP took 18-month off to rehab an injury and took down Carlos Condit 7 times in 7 attempts and dominated the first two rounds of the fight as he opened up a massive cut that spilled blood and he took both rounds handily. In the third round Condit smoked GSP with a knock left leg to his head and GSP was on dream street and even Condit felt that he had a chance to finish him off but GSP defensive saved him and took control of Condit by the end of the round. The match went the distance and in the championship rounds they had Anderson Silva in a small side screen and GSP took Condit down a number of times and controlled Condit and the judges gave the match unanimously 50-45 given all rounds to GSP to keep the welterweight title in the match of the night.
After the match GSP was unwilling to say what he was going to do next as he said he had to talk to coaches, managers, entourage about what to do next.
In the lead up to the main event teammates Johny Hendricks and Martin Kampmann faced off in a welterweight match and Johny Hendricks left hand was built up huge and it delivered only 46 seconds into the match as he lead with his right and immediately finished with the left and Kampmann was out on impact for knock out of the night. After the match Johny Hendricks made no bonez about it that he wanted a title shot and with his performance will be one of the two options and GSP can not go wrong with either and it will both be huge for the UFC with Silva being bigger at Cowboy stadium.
The unjust decision of the night was that Francis Carmont got a split decision over Tom Lawlor even though Lawlor had a submission on at both the first two rounds and the crowd booed the decision out of the building.
The two other Canadians on the PPV did not fair very well as Mark Bocek tried as he might was unable to get Rafael dos Anjos to the ground and after the first 7 minutes of the 15 minute match Bocek was finished and dos Anjos dominated the last 8 minutes of the match and won all three rounds of the fight. While Mark Hominick tried as he might was unable to do anything against Pablo Garza and was a bloody mess and lost an unanimous decision and may get his walking papers from the UFC after 4 straight losses.
The Crowd were extremely hot even though some stupid heads were booing at different times

Phil Jackson to become the next head coack of Lakers
Phil Jackson has already interviewed for the job and showed Jim Buss the 5 NBA championship rings he has earned with the Lakers over the last 13 years of being the head coack of the Lakers and being retired from basketball. He has started to cancelling speaking engagements already and he knew about the Mike Brown firing even before Mike Brown did as he is dating Jeanie Buss who is the daughter of the owner of the Lakers Jerry Buss.
Really all that has to be figured out is how much salary the Lakers will be willing to give Jackson and how much he is looking for and if they figure out a number that both sides can agree to it will be a done deal. The reason why Jackson will be the guy is because he is very good coach getting his teams to the end goal of winning the NBA championship as between the Lakers with Kobe and the Bulls with Micheal he collected 11 championship rings and between 1995 and 2002 he six championships (3 Bulls and 3 Lakers) in 7 seasons with the only time that he did not win the title was the year he took off between the Bulls and Lakers jobs in 1998-99. IT will be his third stint as Lakers head coach and it will be a one or two year deal most likely 25 mill if not more and he coach the big three in LA of Bryant, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash with Bryant and Nash at the twilight of their careers and who knows if Howard will be around after this season as he will be a free agent and Jackson will be able to get everybody on the same page and will put the Lakers in position to win another title.
It will be a go thing for the city and the team and everybody involved

Sean Payton has a few juicy options going into next season
It is looking like NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has more problems with the Saints and this time it is something about the contract extension that Sean Payton signed over a year ago and would keep Payton in New Orleans til the end of 2016.
So if the Saints and Payton do not fix the contract that they sent the league for approval then Payton will come out of his year long suspension by the league as a free agent.
With is in mind there are three huge options for Payton and will become a very rich head coach and if he plays his cards right he might get more than that and this is what might happen:
Option No. 1 - is staying in New Orleans and continuing to coach Drew Brees and the Saint talented offense and get them back on the right track on defense and bringing a second Lombardi Trophy to the city.
Option No. 2 - Would be heading to Dallas and coaching the Dallas Cowboys who are in the toilet this season with a 3-5 record and a quarterback in Tony Romo who can throw 4 INTs in a game and the Cowboys are still in the game. Then there is Jerry Jones who has not been in a Super Bowl in 17 seasons as they last won it in 1995 season and he might get Desperate and go all out in the off-season and give Payton huge money and huge responsibility of being both the Head Coach along with control of all talent related decisions as the General Manager of the Cowboys. It would be a very easy move for Jerry to do as he right now is actually the General Manager of his own team.
Option No. 3 - If the Cowboys are mess than the Jets are living in a pigsty as their head coach Rex Ryan has lost the team completely even though they are also 3 and 5 right now but it is the quarterbacking Controversy between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow along little to no running game with Shonn Greene with 509 yards on the ground through the first half of the season. Jets owner is as crazy as Jones in Dallas and like the spotlight as much and Rex Ryan days in the big apple look to be numbered and owner Woody Johnson might try and out spend both the Cowboys and Saints for Payton.
If it does not get fixed by the end of the season and it goes into the off-season I would not be surprised if he goes to Dallas to coach and be the GM of the Cowboys

NHL cancels Winter Classic and now the big boys hurt
Today the NHL has decided instead of starting to pay the huge down payment of booking the Big House in Michigan for January 1st,2013 they have axed the whole thing and with no talks schedule it will be hard to imagine that it will be re-booked for this season.
With this happening the NHL is biting the head that feeds them because a ton of money would be made by the Detroit Red Wings who have been one of the most competitive teams in the NHL in the last quarter century and they need the money. Things in Michigan are not very good as it is run by Car manufacturers especially Ford so it has been hard for the Red Wings to get top dollar for their tickets but got over 20,000 fans a game but have a middle of the road average ticket price of 53.28 and is 4 dollars less than the NHL average 57.10. The Red Wings who a max team (64 million dollars a season) and are struggling to balance the books and the money will help them financially and it is the biggest hit to the big boys of the NHL and will be the biggest pill to shallow for them to help the sinking ships that are a lot of southern teams and the Phoenix Coyotes and the New York Islanders.
This thing also diffidently hurts the community around the Big House because a lot of people lost the opportunity to make a salary with two Alumni hockey games, an AHL hockey game, and the big game in front of over 100,000 fans in the stands. The hotel business around the stadium were booked solid and they were going to make good money over the span of a couple weeks and now those rooms will likely be empty and the hotels will need to give back the down payments on the rooms that were booked solid.
The Winter Classic will be back on January 1st,2014 and it will be still at the Big House

Ref screws Reyback and Show is on top of the world
The night was completely built around the WWE title and Paul Heyman and CM Punk trying unsuccessfully getting out of the match against Reyback inside the Hell in the Cell as Heyman was around Vicki all night first trying to convince her that cancelling the match would be the best thing to do for the business and her future. Then later thanked her for cancelling the match and she said the match was still on and Heyman said he had heard a rumor that it was cancelled and when this did not work Punk meet with Vince and asked him to cancel the match and Vince asked what Punk was worried about and Punk said that he was not worried.
The rest Punk was not worried was because he turned out to have Referee Brad Maddox in him back pocket and Maddox is one of the Refs that made bad calls against Punk last month and Punk called him out and asked him to reverse his call and he refused. So tonight Maddox was reffing the match tonight between Punk and Reyback and everything was on the up and up until Reyback had Punk on his shoulders ready to finish him and Maddox low blowed Reyback and then helped Punk pin him by hold his legs down while counting the fastest three count in WWE history. In the end Punk retains his title for a 49TH week and the brilliance of Paul Heyman shines through and coming out of the match the big question has to be what effect will this have on Reyback's push as he was over tonight and it was one of very few things anyone was interested in tonight as this is like the one figure pin by Nash to Goldberg that killed him character in WCW.
Big Show dominated Shamus and throw him around like a rag doll and Shamus fought through everything and battled Show though choke slams as he blocked two before taken one but getting his shoulder up and he he got Show on his shoulders for the White Noise which brought the crowd alive and did get a bro kick on him too but Show kicked out of it both times. The match ended when Show on his third punch of the match finished Shamus off to become World Champion and after all the talk from Ziggler about how he was going to cash in his contract it still did not happen.
The surprise of the night was not that Hell No imploded as Kane was going for the coke slam in the corner and Bryant tagged himself in or that Kane broke up Bryant's pin or that on the outside of the ring Bryant went to hit Roades with a clothline off the ring apron and missed and hit Kane instead. That was not even that Roades Scholars won the match but it was that Kane destroyed everybody in the ring except the ref and was disqualified so that team Hell No keep the titles and I guess it sets up a rematch for Survivor series.
One of the best things was the Miz promo about if Kofi Kingston keeps the title it will be the end of the world and during the match that he did not win he did change Kofi's character as he took off his boot, his knee pad, and knee brace so that he finished most off the match with only a black sock on his left foot and he kicked Miz with his right for the trouble in paradise.
So the crowd at the movie theater I was at and the Phillips arena in Atlanta did not get interested in anything really and they will need to do a lot of damage control starting tomorrow to rebuild Reyback.

Bieber and Carly Ray performing at the Grey Cup
On November 25, 2012 the Grey Cup will be turning 100 years old and the CFL in their biggest of the season are going to celebrate in style with a 30-minute half-time who is who of Canadian music at centre field.
The list of performers is the one and only Justin Bieber, who was born in London, Ontario and grow up in stratford, Ontario which quite close to the site of the 100TH Grey Cup game being played at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. He will be also join by Carly Ray Jepsen from Mission, British Columbia who has been on tour with Bieber for a while now and both will be putting on a concert a week later at The Air Canada Centre which is down the road from the Rogers Centre so they are both coming in a week early to be a part of the big Canada music/sports celebration.
Also on at halftime will be Canadian Music Icon will also be performing at halftime along with Marianas Trench whose lead singer helped Carly Ray write her first studio album and the group is also from British Columbia as they are from Vancouver.
For the pregame warmup acts they have setup Burton Cummings a Canadian Icon from Winnipeg, Manitoba and the only performer not born in Canada is Johnny Reid who has grown up in Canada.
It maybe a mess trying to get four acts on and off the stage in about 25 minutes and maybe a couple will be moved up to before kickoff as there is way more time to perform before the game as the gates will likely open in the 4 or 4:30 time slot for a 6:30 kickoff.
In the end after the last Grey Cup in Toronto five years ago was headlined by Lenny Kavitz it diffidently a big improvement as that part of celebration left me lacking a lot and I will enjoy the music more this time around.

Rob Ford puts his foot down and wants bottle water
Rob Ford went on his local radio program on News Talk 1010 in Toronto where Rob Ford is the mayor of the city went off on City Council about not being able to get a bottle of water at City Hall. People are not able to bring in a bottle of water as it is banned from City Hall and this is because in environmental decision and the stupid thing is U can buy a bottle of pop or juice at City Hall or even bring a bottle of this less nutrition value of pop.
So people can get water from the tap and get it in plastic cup and if U walk around with it u can spill it and it becomes a big mess and a cup is a lot easier to be knocked over by a hand or elbow than a bottle would be. The thing is for a guy like Ford and some other councilors can u having water more than the other options and it would be surprising that someone could not fill up a bottle with tap water.
If City City Hall wants to have a green thumb than they should ban little bottles of everything including pop or juice and bring in bigger bottles and then pour it into a cups like they do with water and cut down the amount of plastic being used. Them singling out using bottles for water as their example of being green friendly is very silly approach of doing things and it is just the way City Council under Rob Ford as nothing seems nothing gets down and it is all because nobody wants to listen to Ford as he can not even get his Subway expansion on the right track and it was the platform that he ran on to get into office.
Rob Ford still is unable to get things completed as the major

Reenee Paquette is heading to the wwe
Who: who is Reenee Paquette and the answer is that she a Toronto, Ontario, Canada native who has been at the Score in Canada which is the official station for all WWE programming in Canada. She has been apart of aftermath which is the official after show for RAW (after the Tuesday replay of the Monday show) and right after Smackdown on Friday night alongside former WWE ref Jimmy Korderas and the host of the show Arda Ocal.
WHY: Why is this happening and the reason is with Wednesday Main Event and with the WWE having a Saturday morning show on CW which leads to having more need for more talent even backstage. With the whole Jerry Lawler incident it opened up a need to move people around and it turns out that Michael Cole is only doing RAW and Josh Matthews looks to be out of the interviewing tasks for seat one on Smackdown beside JBL.
When: With Josh Matthews having issues with RAW GM A.J. Lee and taken it to the WWE board of trustees and Matt Striker was put into a match by A.J. against Kane which basically writing off RAW to go on and do other WWE programming. So the long and short of it is that she will be put into place as the RAW backstage interviewer as of September 22, 2012 episode of RAW.
HOW: It is very easy for her to get connections inside the WWE as she is closely linked to the WWE on the outside so she could of gotten a video very easily inside the Stafford Connecticut headquarters. Or she might have caught the eye of a wrestler because she is good looking and they could of pulled a few strings and if that is the case I look at mister John Cena who is single and is rumor has it that he is a player and he diffidently has pull inside the WWE.
In the end she will be handing herself strongly as she may of been feed lines but she knows more about the WWE than most Divas inside the WWE and it is a good choice for both sides

A-Rod's replacement is on fire
A-Rod (Alex Rodriquez) of the New York Yankees was 2 for 16 and has not picked up a RBI in the four of five games AL divisional playoff series with the wild card Baltimore Orioles and has not picked a RBI since September 19TH. He been k'd 9 times by O's pitchers and has been booed mercilessly by the Yankees fans over the two games he played at the new Yankees Stadium.
Wednesday night in game 3 Joe Girardi made the gutsiest call a Yankees managers has had to do in a long time by saying to A-Rod that he did not believe that with one out and down by a run A-Rod would not be to simply get on base. Instead he brought Raul Ibanez off the bench for the highest paid player in major league history and had an at bat in the ninth and homered to tie the game at 2 and then won it in the 12TH with another solo homer 3-2.
Then after losing game 4 2-1 in 13 Joe Girardi decided in a winner takes all game that A-Rod would be nowhere near the field as he put Raul Ibanez in the lineup again for him and he came up with a RBI single to put the Yankees in flight 1-0 in the sixth inning on their way to a 3-1 victory behind C C Sabathia complete game.
Now heading into the AL Championship series against the as powerful Yankees the Tigers of Detroit it would not be surprising if A-Rod stays invisible that Girardi goes to his bench for Ibanez. A-Rod hook seems to becoming much shorter and maybe humbled even more and may soon find his way out of town and the Yanks will be picking up the contract so this maybe A-Rod final chance to prove himself worth of the pin stripes.
It will be a good series

Drew Brees sets another record
Drew Brees who has been incredible since joining the Saints in '06 as a free agent as the San Diego Chargers, the team that drafted him in 2001 in the second round, decided that they did not need him anymore and moved on with Phillip Rivers. On the other hand the Saints put together a very good team around him with a great defense with a great incentive plan that they are now paying back with not being able to have Jonathan Vilma playing on their D and Will Smith not being able play the preseason.
Brees has become the faster quarterback to throw for 40,000 yards and broke numerous records last season for yards thrown (5,476), completions (468), the highest completion % (71.2%), and most 300+ yard games (13) along while becoming the quarterback with the best completion % in history (65.94%).
Then yesterday afternoon against the same Chargers team that did not want him and looking at going 0 and 5 on the season Brees went out with just over 3 minutes left in the first quarter and throw a 40 yard TD pass to Devery Henderson to set a new consecutive TD streak with him now throwing a TD in 48 straight games. This broke Johnny Unitas 52 year old 47 TD game streak that he had accomplished over the '56 through '60 seasons and was down by the Saints bench before the game and get a hug from Brees and then took him seats in section 115 and row 29 with his son beside him watch it all unfold right in front of his eyes @ Brees new home in New Oreleans. Brees finished off the Chargers 31-24 with 4 TD day while bringing them back from a 10-point deficit as also suspended for the season Saint head coach Sean Payton was in a press box watching the game as a request by Brees that the NFL agreed to. Brees began this record march as he and the Saints marched to the SuperBowl and then marched out with the SuperBowl in '09.
In the end way likes of Elway, Marino, Kelly, Brady, and one of the Mannings boys in the NFL it is surprising that this record stood for so long

Miguel Cabrera wins first triple crown in 45 years
Miguel Cabrera has really turned it around after a lot of alcohol problem with him being arrested for being dunk and a fight with his wife and was put into jail and the GM of the Tiger Dave Dombrowski bailed him out and he was taken to the ballpark for the final game of the 2009. He also pulled over during the grape fruit league in Florida was pulled over by police and was charged with a DUI and a bottle of alcohol.
His 2012 season was one best over season in quite a few seasons as he became the first batter in the majors in the past 45 years to have the best hitting average (.330), the most RBIs (139), and homers (44) to claim the first triple crown and was not tied at the end of the season in a category. Ever the great Carl Yastrzemski did not even do when he won the triple crown in '67 as he was tied in homers with Harmon Killebrew with 44.
The number break down is insane as batting average was .330 and Mike Trout was next with an average of .326 and he went 6 for 9 in the first two games of the final series with the KC Royals.
Homers he had one more than Josh Hamilton had two in the last 5 games of the regular season the first to tie Hamilton with 43 and the second to past Hamilton with 44 long balls.
He crushed everyone in RBIs as he had 11 more RBIs than Hamilton and just ran away with RBI title and he did all this on a bad wheel.
So yes he had Prince Fielder behind him which allowed him to see more fast balls than he would otherwise see as pitchers did not want to have him on with Fielder up but he also had trade in his first baseman mit for a third baseman mit as he switched corners of the infield and he still able to not cost the Tigers games with his fielding.
In the end Miguel Cabrera deserves the MVP as it is something that has not been done in 45 years and on top of his triple crown # he also cracked 40 doubles and fell short of 100 ks which is hard for power hitters (98)

Jay Onrait and Dan O'toole have a podcast and it maybe too late
Jay Onrait and Dan O'toole a week ago began doing a podcast for TSN radio Toronto and it sounded like it was something I heard before and that it resembled Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro early podcast of a weekly hour show.
the Jay and Dan podcast had a story about Sudbury where Dan got the same room key as Jay and walked into the room where Jay was in his underwear and then stick around eat some cheese that was in the room before leaving. Jay talked about how they started doing the Olympic coverage with Jay staying in Canada while Dan was in London and then TSN decided to send Jay to London and in the end he was unable to get into events so he bought three pairs of shoes.
They also played clips from sportcenter where they cracked up after listen to a story about how a family painted their house in Eskimos colors and they found a clip of Arron Rogers complaining about the replacement refs and a reporter saying "aw ha" and used both clips throughout their first two podcast. They find a clip about Charles Hughes mooning the fans at Mosiac Stadium in Saskatchewan and they would play him saying I sorry to... and like the Stamps fans or the organization and then Dan would say for my ass after everyone. They were shills for Mark's clothing throughout their podcast and then also throw bell under the bus for not given them a discount on phones and how their phone lines are horrible.
All of these kind of thing like finding different kind of clips and playing them forever along with ripping their bosses is totally out of the Tim and Sid podcast Manuel but is still very interesting.
If TSN radio was smart they would of done these kind of things leading up to the launch of TSN radio like have Jim Richards do a podcast to give people in Toronto an idea what the big calling card for the station sounded like before it was launched. Also Jay and Dan are great for the TSN radio brand with the only exception being that they should of been doing a show starting nearer to March 13, 2011 not the beginning of Fall 2012.
It is on TSN radio Toronto on Friday nights @ 10 PM and on TSN.ca/TSN radio and the week after they put it up on youtube

Jon Jones went into hostile territory and won in the fourth
Jon Jones the crowd against him the whole match against Vitor Belfort who had the crowd behind him and a huge Vitor chant going and he gave the crowd 90 seconds into the match ehen he on his back and got a hold on Jones right arm and had a tremendous arm lock and had almost finished Jones. Then Jones landed tons of left elbows to Vitor's left eye that was bloodied by the end of the first round and Jones would not use his right arm a lot the rest of the match and would hold it after every round. Vitor did not have a great shot to take out Jones the rest of the way and his only offense was on his back trying to get the arm while avoiding the elbow and in the fourth round he was finished as he continued to take elbow and then quickly give up to an arm bar less than a minute into the round and Vitor really gave a shot to beat Jones and was unable to finish him and Jones just carries on but is now a lot less popular.
Demetrious Johnson beat Joseph Benavidez in a split decision to become the first ever UFC Flyweight champion and the crowd did not like stand up at all and in the fist three rounds it was strictly a stand up match and by the end of the third round they were being booed and announcer were shocked that it was happening. In the fourth round Joseph Benavidez was very close to choking out mighty mouse Johnson who ended being way too fast for him and he took Joseph Benavidez down four or five times and it was the reason that Johnson got the decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46). It was a very tentative for three rounds and the crowd was not used to the skinnier faster guys and may of not known what to expect and ended up not liking it.
Michael Bisping won an unanimous decision over Brian Stann (29-28) after losing the first round because of a right hand and then dominated the final two rounds as he may of got a figure in the eye of Stann and then controlled the final round.
Matt Hamil dominated Canadian on the ground Roger Hollett and it was only Hollett hat took it the distance as he was being clocked in the back of head and should of been stopped earlier if he was not doing as well as he did in his defense.
Cub Swanson knocked out Charles Oliveira in 2 minutes and 40 seconds and was the shortest match on the main card.
It was a good card but the card not liking an stand up and only wanted mat wresting was a little silly and did not show very much knowledge of the sport

The right person wins big brother 14
I came into tonight finale of Big Brother 14 very worried about Dan winning Big Brother and it worried me because he won Big Brother 10 and had already collected the half a million dollar prize. I did not like how Dan used everyone and I really wanted anyone except for Dan to be in the final two and in the end I was very worried after Ian won the final competition over Dan and then took him to the final two and did not have a lot of confidence in the jury not given Dan the money. I did not know if Danielle would be able to turn Shane and both vote for Dan to go with Jenn and Ashley along with Frank which would of given the money to Dan and he would become a Millionaire.
I was shocked that Ian got a 6-2 victory over Dan and it was an awesome to see the super fan Ian who has been watching the game for the last decade and started watching at the young age of eleven. He got to do everything from eating gross food to somewhat hooking up with Ashley and getting to stab Boogie in the back when he told the other house guest what Boogie and Frank felt about everyone. He came through with huge wins and got to live in the HoH room and was able to keep himself save with winning huge Veto competition.
He is now going back to school with over half a million dollars and he really deserved it all and must of been a great ride for him and going forward I hope he keeps his smarts and is able to handle the pressure of all that money and does not end up like others who throw away their money.
It was an awesome season and it is the most reality/scripted TV I have ever watched and it was a great choice bringing in the four coaches as it was a great change

JBL replaces Jerry Lawler and it changes everything
It has been thought of that JBL would return as an announcer for a while and after the real life situation of what happened to Jerry Lawler on monday having a real heartache and will be released from hospital this week from Montreal to head back to Memphis.
So with Lawler out for a long time JBL will be doing raw and PPV until he comes back and JBL was a very great breath of fresh air and whem the cow bell hit for him to come down to ringside as Cole started with an empty chair to start the crowd went wild. He took the heel role so it was a surprise to see Cole being the baby face announcer and it was a total change and it looks like a very good one and he started with really putting over how the Miz did not need to be pinned to lose his title. He also put over how amazing the title run of CM Punk has been and that he has not been apart of the main event in a PPV since winning the title in December and mention that Punk's run is three weeks longer than JBL long run and he also mentioned that Punk was wear Yankees pinstripes in Boston.
Bryant and Kane beat Kofi and Truth for the tag titles and then started yelling at each other that they (single person) is the tag team champs and it carried all the way to the back where they meet up with their therapist who tried to get them to say congrats to each other and A.J. was there and Bryant did and then Kane disappeared and returned dumping water on Bryant but it all ended up on a upset A.J. and I'm going to Disney land. JBL was lost for words after that segment backstage and it was funniest moment of the night.
Early in the night Kaityln was blindsided and was taken out of the Divas title match and Booker T decided to put Eva in the match and this is where Cole was total baby face as he was basically saying Layla was getting screwed and JBL was saying where's the black helicopter like Cole was looking for a ghost.
Punk/Cena was a draw as they did a back suplex and both guys shoulders were counted on the mat

Lawler has heartache and the crowd is left in the dark
So last night during a match between the prime time players and Bryant/Kane Jerry "the king" Lawler had a heartache at ringside and taken to the back and had CPR done before taken to a local Montreal hospital were he is now stable and will need heart surgery and will miss a lot of action including this Sunday's night of champions.
The whole thing made me sick as Michael Cole made sure that the viewers were informed but because the show has to go on and they had to sell the PPV they conveniently forgot to tell the Montreal crowd what was going on. This means that the crowd saw Lawler be carted off on a stretcher and because they were not give the same stuff that the viewer did most of the crowd not checking the internet thought it was a part of the act which it was not. I know last night that the crowd was not in on it as the crowd was still wired and going on like nothing happened and it really did not make me very comfortable about being a wrestling fan and it does happened every so often but I have not felt this way since the Chris Benoit murder/suicide situation happened. This of course has happened before when Owen Hart tried to be lowered to the ring from above and instead went crashing to the mat and was dead on impact and Jim Ross had to announce that hart had died and with a heavy heart we will be finishing the show and the crowd in Kansas City knew what had happened.
Then learning from someone who at the show that no public address announcement was given to the paying crowd and then when John Cena went off script but really did not I thought that would be a perfect time to bring some reality to the situation but instead stay on script and said something in french about Punk and that was not the right decision. I was also shocked that when Cena came down to the ring he had nothing to say and when Brett Hart and Cena started the final segment like nothing happened and just try to sell the PPV to an audience that was in shock of what Cole said in the last hour and nobody is buying the show because of what happened in the final segment.
The whole thing drives home that it is a circus and they have to sell their product in the face of a horrible situation and unlike Benoit it cut and dry and the whole thing would of not bitten the WWE in the butt but the way they decided to portray things will.
It is a sad day to be a wrestling fan

Fan 590 is 20 years old and what it has taught us
September 4, 1992 will go down as a very important date in Toronto Radio history when CJCL 1430 turned into the Fan 1430 and then turned Fan 590 and later became Roger sportsnet 590, the Fan when Rogers rebranded over a year ago. It now has been 20 years of sports programming for the most part and now I have come up with 20 things that we have learned from the Fan.
20 - The Sports babe was money wasted of programming that taught us local is better than a national box programming;
19 - Chris Shultz knows his football and was very entertaining while it lasted as apart of the Mike Hogan mid-day show until Rogers bought the station;
18 - When everybody goes on strike it is not a good time to be a sports radio station and when baseball squashed the World Series in '94 and the NHL decided to scraped the 34 games of 1994-95 season and only played 48 regular season games;
17 - The Fan can scrape the majority of their hosts and repack themselves and become a stronger product when they scraped all their monday - to -friday except for Bob bobcat McCown;
16 - Mike Wilner is not someone to mess with as if U are stupid and ask a stupid question Wilner can get very angry;
15 - Sports updates every 20 minutes is a lor better than the original 15 minute update;
14 - They can recover from huge mistakes like hiring announcer Andrew Krystal as he was not a good fit but it did not hurt the product and they got rid of very quickly;
13 - Tim and Sid is a great afternoon drive show and bring edutainment monday - to -friday;
12 - U do not need to pay an arm and a leg for Toronto Maple Leaf radio rights as they gave them up along time ago and have had a lot strong ratings;
11 - Bringing in Live Audio Wrestling as a replacement brand when they were unable to stream Raptors and then turned it into a weekend evening program on the station and began a 15 plus years of Live Audio Wrestling after getting its start with the Fan before moving on to other stations;
10 - Other companies can take up sports radio on 1050 in the early 2000's with the Team 1050 and right now TSN radio 1050 for over a year and the fan destroy them;
9 - soccer on the radio is not good programming as they have had it before and it did not last;
8 - Blue Jays baseball is best on the Fan as others have tried to do Blue Jays baseball and failed miserably;
7 - It is a breeding ground for talent as George Stroumboulopoulos (the hour), Barry Davis (Blue Jays baseball), Elliotte Friedman (HNIC), Spider Jones, and Dan Shulman (radio voice for Sunday Night Baseball);
6 - The highlight reel which was a mashup of mistakes throughout the week and it was awesome;
5 - Losing great people like Jim Kelley and Jim shaky Hunt who were co-host with Bob McCown with Hunt being the best co-host and who can forget him always asking coaches at the Superbowl and Gray Cup if their players can have sex during the week leading up to the big game. Tom Cheek was a huge lost to the station and Blue Jays baseball has never been the same and Pat Marsden leaving a huge hole in the morning show when he passed away;
4 - Game which was an overnight weekend program that introduced us to Bob Mackowycz, Jr, Jeff Marek and George Stroumboulopoulos along with others who moved on to greatness;
3 - Stormin' Norm Rumack and callers allows getting under his skin and his hammerhead alert and him going crazy in his early days at the station was crazy;
2 - Waken up on September 11th, 2001 and listen to the Fan and instead of sports I was listening to news reports from New York it was a surreal moment after the twin towers went down;
1 - Prime Time Sports the staple of the station is bigger than the actual station;
Happy 20th and hope u have at least 20 more

Dodgers and Red Soxs made a massive deal
The L.A. Dodgers has been going all out to get past the San Francisco Giants by first picking up Hanley Ramirez from the Marlins and now have picked up Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and even Nick Punto.
This looks like it seriously good to happen as all four have cleared waivers and in return the Dodgers will receive Rubby De La Rosa is the center piece of it all and Red Soxs would receive James Loney along with prospects infielder Ivan De Jesus and outfielder Jerry Sands. The deal is not done yet but it make scent for both two and they have until Sunday afternoon to get it done.
For the Dodgers they really want to make the playoffs and this deal puts them with a lot more talent than the Giants who they ate two games behind and Gonzalez knows the NL West very well as he was on the Padres before heading to Boston and a change of scenery will do Josh Beckett a lot of good after last season's beer and chicken incident.
For Boston it would be a new start as it has been a disaster since rebuilding last season with Crawford just not fitting in and the fans not really warming to him as he was underperforming and injury prono. Then there is Adrian Gonzalez who phone was used to call the we do not like Valentine meeting that has been all the talk for a few weeks now and Josh Buckett just not fit the mold of a Boston Red Sox and it best off to wipe the slate clean and maybe go after Cliff Lee in the off season as it looks like the Phillies are looking to get some more offense for pitching or Mark Buehrle from the Marlins as they are truly having a fire sale and for the right price anyone with a big contract is on the table.
Lets see if it happens

UFC cancels show after Jon Jones refuses to fight and instead heading to T.O.
Dana White had to cancel next Saturday's card when a tear in Dan Henderson's right knee during a take down in practice will not need surgery but it still forced Dana to ask Jon Jones to fight a different fighter (Chael Sonnen) with less than two weeks preparation which would not be a good choice for Jones as Sonnen would have a slight advantage being more hungry and having more tape on Jones than Jones has on Sonnen.
But what is Mandalay Bay Events Center lose is the gain of the Air Canada Center as Jon Jones has decided with an extra three weeks to get ready and get to know his next opponent Lyoto Machida who he choked in the main event at UFC 140 which was held at the Air Canada Centre last year. So on September 22Nd @ UFC 152 Jon "Bones" Jones will face Lyoto Machida in a rematch and will be a hot main event for a hot crowd and will whatever tickets remain.
Chael Sonnen had been running his mouth for a while that he could beat Jones and we ready to immediately to head to Mandalay Bay and take him on Tomorrow if that was what it took to get him in the Octagon. Dana is pissed at Jon Jones and his camp for next take on Chael Sonnen on such short notice to save the event and give Dana a massive headache to find spots for the other match ups that have also been cancelled but I think Dana is in the wrong to put a fighter and more importantly the face of the UFC and then just rip him apart.
UFC 152 (now 151) in T.O. will be good

Brock the monster, Punk steals, Kevin Rudolf kills the crowd
The sliver anniversary of Summerslam was a pretty good show with a extremely hot start, a very sleepy middle, and it was an extremely good end of the show with Kevin Rudolf actually killing Summerslam was the worst of the filler with Michael Cole dancing during the performance made his look like a tool.
The opener was hot with Y2J Vs Dolph Ziggler with Vicki losing it ringside throughout the match with the Y2J got Ziggler into the walls and he tapped out and Vicki was crying at ringside.
Then it was a great promo with Brock and Hayman with the camera on Brock while Hayman told us how much of a monster that Brock is.
Second match was Kane Vs Daniel Bryant and it focused on the yes chant and it made Bryant very mad and it was the hottest when Bryant was on the top of turnbuckle and came off and it looked like he had headbutted Kane but it turned out that Kane had gotten him by the throat and choke slammed Bryant. Then he went for a tombstone but Bryant rolled him up for the victory and then Kane went to the back and destroyed everything in his way and then Josh Matthew decided that this was the perfect time to ask Kane a question and got destroyed for his efforts.
Then the middle happened and the crowd was completely dead starting with The Miz and Rey Mysterio and Miz put a couple of sleepers on Rey and that was what put the crowd to sleep and took Miz a while to get a stone crushing finale for the victory. Before the next match Punk went into A.J.'s office and she started by smiling but when Punk kept talking and talking A.J. stopped listen and Punk wanted to know if she was awake and after a while he shut up and left.
The next match was Alberto Del Rio Vs Sheamus the crowd was out of it until Del Rio copied Sheamus setup for the bro kick and that woke up the crowd until the end of the match and it ended with Del Rio pulling Rodriguez into the ring and got frustrated at Rodriguez and when the ref was focused on Rodriguez who throw a shoe to Del Rio and Sheamus got it and hit him with it for the win but Del Rio's foot was on the rope and Sheamus still won.
The last of the sleeper matches was Prime Time Players against R-Truth and Kofi Kingston and the Prime Time Players got beat and are probably headed for best wishes in your future with A.W. fired.
Business picked up with the triple threat match where Big Show basically dominated the match until the end where both Punk and Cena had submissions on him and he tapped but because both had a submission on the Ref could not decide who won. This brought out A.J. and both Punk and Cena argued they should win but when A.J. opened her mouth she said start the match again and when both turned around Big Show choke slammed both of them and covered both individually but did not get the win. The end of the match happened when Punk tried to get the GTS on Big Show which did not work so Cenaa tried the AA and hit it and then was thrown out of ring by Punk who covered Big Show to keep the belt.
This is where they brought out Kevin Rudolf to sing his don't give up song that they use so much and the crowd was so quiet u could hear crickets behind the music and the Divas were brought out to dance but Michael Cole's dancing ringside was embarrassing and of course it was not his decision as Vince was in his ear.
The Final Match was Brock Lesner basically destroying Trips with the focus on the Kimura and Trips only response was cloth lining Lesner over the top rope and Brock kept throwing around Trips with back suplexes. The match changed when Trips pushed Brock into the announce table and Brock was not the same complaining about his stomach and it looked serious but when Trips focused on it before going to the Pedigree and it felt more like an act and the match finished with Trips got a second Pedigree and went for the cover and Brock got the Kimura on Trips for the victory.
Trips at the end of the night was look for a good send off by the crowd but it did not happen

Chad Johnson is embarrassed and now alone
Chad Johnson was brought into Miami Dolphins camp with a ton of baggage and it may of been more about something to give hard knocks as was front and center in the first two episodes of this season show based on the Dolphins and VH1 had already given Johnson and his wife Evelyn Lozada a reality show.
After the most talked about head butt on Saturday night since Andre the Giant turned on Hulk Hogan during a piper pit segment in the middle of the 80's leading to Wrestle Mania 3 and it all began with Lozada, a charter on the basketball wives, finding a receipt for condoms on Johnson and lets just say that Johnson was not using the condoms with her and he spent a couple of hours in prison after the incident. After the incident Chad Johnson with the cameras rolling for hard knocks sat down with Dolphins' head coach Joe Philbin who cuts him on international TV as Johnson pleads for his millionths chance and fell on deaf ears and this is the embarrassing part of his weekend.
After VH1 cancelled Johnson and Losada's reality series that was already shot and in the can it was time that Losada ended their 41 day marriage and Johnson is now alone as Losada all about the show and the fame that would hopefully comes from it. This divorce makes the Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries marriage of 72 days fell like a decent amount for celebrity marriages and Johnson has just been dropped by Zico which is a brand of coconut water and the agreement lasted only two weeks.
It looks like Chad Johnson have not been faithful from the very beginning as he has been hooking up with a mother of two in Boston Beverly Shiner (near where he played last season for the New England Patriots) between January and May and she followed Johnson on twitter and after starting the affair she began following Losada as well so she knew when she was out of town and could hook up with Johnson.
Chad Johnson is in a rough shape and it may not end well for him

Dwight Howard is going to learn alot in LA
Dwight Howard has whined and cried to get his way as he is finally in a bigger market and will finally not be the only talent player on the team and the pressure will not only be on his now unlike his career so far in Orlando.
The thing about Dwight Howard is that he will be in for a rude awakening as he has had the world at his feet and in LA he will be taught a few lessons and here is a list of things he will learn:
- He is the boss as that is Kobe in LA and everything happen through Kobe and Mr. Nash is not a bad second in command and that is team effort to get the prize (the championship) and trust me that Kobe want another ring and the only reason Nash is in LA is for the ring.
- Kobe has been Howard before and he knows about wanting to be an one man band a.k.a. Shaq who and when he was by himself it was no fun as he would put up huge numbers and no championship and right now he will take less numbers for a championship and Howard will need to get to the promise land.
- right now Howard needs to learn about public relations as his indecision made LBJ's decision a classy move which is hard to do and LA one of the few places where he will find a group of people that can teach him what to say and more impotently what not to say. Kobe is in a small group who is contently under a massive microscope and handles himself as a class act and Steve Nash is one of the classiest players in the league because he say no future is Phoenix for him he said all the right things and basically behind him moving on and he used Toronto to get more from other teams I do not know if he will be booed by Raps fans and they boo anyone who does not like team. Finally that guy the former Ron Artest until that Westbrook situation he was a model player as a Laker and that is hard to do especially go into the stands and beat up paying customers.
- There is no I in team - On the Lakers everybody in the starting lineup is very very talented player and everybody will get their turn with the ball so if Howard is asked to focus on D that is what he will need to do. If he is asked to just wait for the ball to go up and for him on a miss get that ball and pass it out that is what he will need to do or if he needs to go up strong with a ball then that is what he needs to do.
- Howard is probably need to take a page out of Kobe's playbook and spend sometime in the gym making himself better and the weakness of this Superman is his free throws and he will need to do better at free throws or he will be sitting late in games when the Lakers have the ball because otherwise he be constantly fouled and sent to the line and it will hurt the team.
I do not know if Howard is a Laker long term but he is for the season and it would be a good thing to learn something there

Canadian Olympic Soccer Team has great tournament and pick up a medal
So Canadian was broken on Monday against the US in a heart-breaking loss with 30 seconds in the extra time and then the talked started about the ref and why she made the calls she did i.e the 6 sec call and the hand ball off Canadian that went off Canadian Marie-Eve Nault that went off her arm and Alex Morgan put home the free kick. Then coming out out of the match fifa changed the tone of the conversation from the ref to will Canadian players Christine Sinclair or Melissa Tancredi suspended for the bronze as fifa announced they were looking at comments by the Canadian ladies after the US game and thankfully it was only a smokescreen as FiFA announced they did have enough info to make a decision before today's game.
The Canadian women were on their heels all game with France attacking and attacking and attacking and just could not put one away and the Canadians did not look like they had any legs left but things turned for the Canadians when Sinclair was fouled at the beginning of added time and got a free kick that did not work. Then a minute later Diana Mathesonwas in front of the French goal and put it away to give Canada a 1-0 win in the last minute of added time and it became the first traditional team medal by a Canadian team in the Summer Olympic since 1936.
It was a great way for Canadian ladies a tournament where they lost to the top two teams in the world when they opened the tournament against Japan and lost 2-1 on two late first half goals and fought back to make it close in the second half with a goal from Melissa Tancredi who turned out to the surprise of the tournament with 4 goals and gave Sinclair the support she needed. Then Canada beat South Africa 3-0 and tied Sweden 2-2 to head into the knock out round and beat Great Britain in the quarter-final in an almost empty Coventry stadium.
This is a great way for the 29-year-old Christine Sinclair to put herself in a class by herself in women's soccer with her 143 international goals and will be most likely the Canadian flag bearer for Sunday's closing ceremonies in London.
It is a kick-start for the 2015 world cup that Canada will host

Clara Hughes had a broken back two month before Olympics
Clara Hughes a Canadian cyclist in the summer games and speedskating in the Winter Olympics and has picked up 6 medals in 6 Olympics (3 summers 1996, 2000, and 2012) (3 winters 2002,2006, and 2010).
She did not pickup a medal in these Olympics as she finished in the middle of the pack in the road race (32Nd) and fell a minute short of a medal in the time trails and finished 5th. Then she went on a Toronto Radio Station and said that she had nasty in cycling over the last few years but on the Victoria Day weekend and more correctly May 21st she fell off her bike in a race in Gatineau, Quebec and that she had broken her back and fractured vertebrae and had been keeping it a secret for the past two month. She stated even though was had a broken back and fractured vertebrae she did not stop training and the reason why was because these thinks are apart of the sport and u just need to pull through it and one of the host said "players in baseball go on the DL for hangnails and u kept going with a broken back".
It is amazing that the almost 40-year-old was able to put medical risks aside and put forth a couple of great performances in her last Olympic games and her most likely her last competition of her career.
She will go down as one of the greatest Canadian Olympians in history

Phillies try to fix problems that other teams wished they had
Phillies moved any position players they could for the chance to get some more punch in their everyday lineup but first they sent Shane Victorino to the L.A. Dodgers where he has been hated and booed contently for the past four seasons since he took exception to the Dodgers Hiroki Kuroda throwing a fastball over his head and wished he did not throw at his head. So the Dodgers gave up a relief pitcher Josh Lindblom who will hopefully better the Phillies disaster that is their bullpen as he has a 2-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 48 relief appearances for Los Angeles along with minor league starter Ethan Martin who is 8-6 in 20 starts in AA with a 3.58 ERA while getting a future player or cash. The Dodgers for their run to the 2012 postseason as they are tied with the Giants for first in the NL West pickup a player in Victorino that has been under preforming this season with a .261 batting average with 9 homers and 40 RBIs and will be putting him in as a lead off and hope he can improve his 24 steals on the season.
While the Phillies also helped the NL leading Giants as well as they sent Hunter Pence to the 2010 World Series Champs whose batting average is way down after hitting over .300 last seasons but is still on pace to be in the same neighborhood in homers as he has 17 right now in 101 games and is usually in the mid-20's and 59 RBIs and could reach that 90-plus range for the last couple of seasons. The Phillies get Nate Schierholtz who they are hoping with more time in the outfield will better his .257 batting average and getting on base that the Phillies really need and bettering his 5 homers and 17 RBIs in 77 games of spot duty while get better as the Phillies continue to have the horse on the mound in Halladay, Lee, and Hamels who is going to be around for the next 6 seasons. They also get minor league catcher prospect Tommy Joseph and minor league prospect right-handed pitcher Seth Rosin.
With their pitching and a lot of improvement with the everyday players the Phillies will once again be a World Series threat next season

ColdPlay in Toronto was simply amazing
July 23, 2012
ColdPlay played their first of two show in Toronto and it was simply the most awesome stage performances I have even though I have not gone too many concerts in my lifetime i.e. 4 in like the twenty years. Chris Martin knows how to involve all the fans even the fans behind the stage that had to probably look at the screens all around the arena to see the guys faces but still he took time and sung a couple of songs to the crowd behind the stage who loved it. The presentation like what looks to be a staple for the band had its leasers going and it was an awesome display and they even gave everyone coming in a wristband that I had no club how it work until they came out and did their first song and had a certain pattern of light on the screen behind the band and it set off all kinds of different colors which was cool. They had an amazing entrance onto the stage with smoke flying into the air with Star Wars music to go with it and they played a mixture of songs off the new album along with the songs that everybody knows from the past CDs. They had a cannon shooting paper into the air and it was something to watch and the smart guy that Chris Martin and the rest of the band is they dedicated yellow to the people in Colorado and anyone is going through a tough time. The show was a 90 minute sing-a-long with coldplay including a 20 minute encore that started with the speed of light and Chris almost immediately had to stop the band as he had missed up the lyrics I do not know if it was planned or not but he did make fun of it by saying please do not put it on youtube which shows he has a great understanding of the fans and knows they are going to put parts of the youtube.
The act that was brought in from Australia had a tough job as nobody was there to see them and knew everybody was there to see ColdPlay but their instruments were ear busting loud and it was hard to hear what the lady was singing which ColdPlay did not have a problem with as the instruments were not as loud even though they do have a lot of upbeat songs.
If U are going to see ColdPlay anywhere enjoy they do put on a great show

Rich Nash is heading to the BIG APPLE
Columbus Blue Jackets have finally traded Rick Nash and he is heading to the Big Apple to join Brad Richards, MARIAN GABORIK, RYAN CALLAHAN, DEREK STEPAN, MICHAEL DEL ZOTTO, and MARC STAAL. This means that the Rangers will be a powerhouse team to go head-to-head with the Philadelphia Flyers especially if Shea Weber ends up in Philadelphia.
The Rangers did not give the Blue Jackets their best young players but did give them quantity as they gave up Artem Anisimov, Brandon Dubinsky, and Tim Erixon along with a first round pick. Artem Anisimov ,24, has been a very healthy center playing 243 of the Rangers 246 regular season games over the last three seaons and has 46 goals, 62 assists, and 108 points and will need to put up better in heavier minutes. Brandon Dubinsky,26, has played more than 70 games in 4 of his 5 seasons with 81 goals and 132 assists for 213 points in 393 games with the Rangers and will get more minutes and will need to put up more points and Tim Erixon,21,is a young defenceman who has a lot of upside.
In the end Rick Nash is a huge steal at this price for a pretty solid 30 goal scorer with 7 of 9 30 goal scorer with his low of being 27 goals for two season and the best was two 40 goal seasons with a 41 goal season in 2003-04 and 40 goals in in 2008-09.
It will be very interesting to see when Nash has his down games will the city and will John Tortorella get a little annoyed at him and will it effect his effort and will bring the boos

Penn State gets a slap on the wrist from the NCAA
Penn State football has been handed down by the NCAA and it is a slap on the wrist as they have been fined 60 million dollars and that is a drop in bucket for Penn State as they raised over 200 million dollar after the Jerry Sandusky sandal to the surface. They are not allowed to be in bowl game for the next four season which is a huge biggy as the team is likely not good enough to be in a bowl game and is on probation for five seasons and that is diffidently a good thing to make sure they separate sports and educational and it should be done with every team in the NCAA to make sure that things like this do not happen again but they are not going this far. They are 10 scholarships reduction over the next four season and they are not a huge player in pickling up the best high school players but players on the team right now can move to any team and will not be penalized for leaving Penn State.
It looks like they tried to use Joe Paterno legacy and chip away at his legacy by taken all wins away from them between 1998 and 2011 which is 211 wins and it takes him from the winiest NCAA football coach with 409 and after the reduction he now is 12th overall with 298 wins. He also had his statue outside the football stadium and the thing is that he felt sorry for not doing the right thing when he had his chance as his body just gave up right after everything happened.
I do not know if U can destroy a dead man's legacy especially when it is all about Jerry Sandusky who should be put away for a long time

NHL owners are not helping Bettman in negations
In the dead of the night Flyers owner Ed Snider spit in the face of the CBA that is in place right now in the NHL as Snider signed Shea Weber to a 14 year / 110 million dollars offer sheet where there is little to no offer sheets in the past. It will be hard for the Predators to match the deal as they would need 68 million dollars in bonuses over the first 6 years of the deal and they will need to come up with 28 million dollars over the first year and that is harder for the cash strapped Predators to handle than the 7.85 cap hit over the next 14 years. In the last 14 years there has been only 6 offer sheets signed and only Dustin Penner offer sheet is the only one that was not matched as the Ducks took a first, second, and a third round draft picks from the Edmonton Oilers for Penner.
The reality is that the NHL and the players union are negating a new CBA with the CBA right now as the CBA will be over on September 15, 2012 and the NHLPA Executive Director Don Fehr is rubbing his hands in glee over this deal for Shea Weber. This deal is putting the commissioner of the NHL Gary Bettman in a tough position as he is in the negations on behalf of the owners and with a deals like this along with the Zach Praise and Ryan Suter 13 /98 million dollars deals both with the Minnesota Wild this summer.
The NHL owners are going into the negations with the players wanting them to give a lot back with limits on the length of contract and want players to be play 10 years in the NHL before coming a free agent and no more salary arbitration for players. While they want a huge rolling back from the players and less revenue to the players and 5 year entry deal and it will be hard to take the owners serious after this.

Joey Votto is out of the Reds lineup 3 or 4 weeks
The Reds who are battling the Pirates for the division in the NL Central but will have to do it without their slugger Joey Votto for 3 or 4 weeks after he slide into third base trying to stretch a double into a triple but will have to go under the knife for surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee.
The 2010 NL MVP he continued to keep a steady pace over the last three seasons and this season he has a better average with .340 and is close to bettering his doubles high as he has 36 in 86 games and his career high is 40 but is homers are down as he had 37 in 2010 and 29 in 2011 and now has 14 this season in 2012.
It will be a tough time for the Reds to keep pace with the Pirates and they will be extremely lucky if they ate within three or four games of them when Votto gets back in the lineup

Miz is back, A.J. is undecided, and A.W. has made himself a star
Smackdown MITB
IT was crazy march and I would not be surprised if wrestlers have major injuries but it was all for not as the obvious winner Dolph Ziggler and he and Vickie were very excited and crowd was completely behind him. After Shamus beat Del Rio and Del Rio beat him down after the match and the crowd were calling for Ziggler and when he came out he was not with Vickie and when he got to the ring he argued with Del Rio and when he turned around he was hit with a bro kick and would of been the first winner not to win but the bell did not ring so the match did not happen.
AW made himself into a star
They had a surprise match between AW's prime time players had a match against Primo and Epico with Rosa in their corner and they beat the prime time players but it was A.W. who was mic'd at ringside and he was brilliant as he was better than the commentators and was talking about making millions and that O'neil was a better dancer than Rosa and he was encouraging his team to get the Job done. After the match he serious took one for the team as Truth on commentary shoot a bottle of what and hew took the whole bottle and it was an amazing scene and after this performance he should be a better part of RAW.
A.J. still not showing her cards yet
The match was in three parts with the first being A.J. was playing her poker face which is the best in the business right now and it was a feeling out process for Punk and Bryant. The middle was after Bryant pushed Punk into A.J. who had to be taken to the back so that they could get their moves in with Punk going from one guard rail to another guard rail close lining Bryant and Bryant later used a kendo stick as a baseball bat and missed and both used it on each other and Bryant did the superfly jump off the top and hit it while Punk did his tribute to Macho and missed. Then when A.J. came back it was A.J. putting a chair in the middle of the ring and they both crawled for it and in the end both used the chair on each other and then A.J. decided that she did not want them to hurt each other too much but still wanted them to fight for her so when Bryant went for the Kendo stick A.J. put her foot on it and when Punk planted the chair in the turnbuckle and A.J. stood in front of it. The end of the match came when Punk had a table setup in the ring and put Bryant on it and did the elbow off the top and A.J. counted it and she looked worried for Bryant while Punk focused more attention on the crowd than A.J..
The Miz returns
Miz came out to a great reaction from the crowd and said that he was off doing a movie and now he is back and he will be apart of the champions MITB match and he sid he was a movie star. When it came to the match everybody attacked Show and he was out of the match for a long time after Cena FU'd him throw the Spanish table and everybody throw ladders on him so he could not move and the finish happened when Big Show got out of the ladders and throw everybody out of the ring and throw a ladder on them. He then went under the ring and brought out a heavy duty ladder and tried to get the case but was stopped and Cena did his Superman spot as he climbed the ladder and Y2J was on his shoulders for a FU put Y2J put him in a sleeper and he still was able to fight and after he throw away Y2J Big Show came back and tried to punch Cena but Cena used the case to block it and it fell apart in Cena's hands and held it up on top of the ladder.
It was a good event but could not match last year's

Dwight Howard staying in Orlando
The indecision known as Dwight Howard is going to play his ball in Orlando this fall/winter as the Magic were unable to get the deal done with the only team Howard will be willing to sign long term with which is the Brooklyn Nets (formerly of New Jersey) by the trade deadline put in place by the Nets. It is unlikely that any team will be willing to give up a tone to get Superman out of Orlando at this time without an agreed to extension and that would only happen if some team goes out and trades for D Will (Dreon Williams)who just signed a 5 year 98 million dollar contract with the Nets and will not be going anywhere anytime soon.
So it will be very interesting in Orlando to see how Superman (Dwight Howard) will be received by the Magic fans like will it be like business like usually and then near the end of the 2012-2013 will they start turning on him. Will he want to put in the effort on the court or will he get another phantom injury like he did at the end of last season when his plans to replace Jeff Van Gundy as head coach and then Van Gundy turns around and throws him under the bus when he to the media said that Howard had tried to get him fired just before Howard came into do his presser and then was gone for the season.
Another question will be when will the trade talk heat up again as it will diffidently be happen around the trade deadline in mid-march and it will be the same old thing will he or won't he allow himself to be traded and if so will he allow himself to be a rental player.
A few this we do know is that in about 365 days Dwight Howard will be a very rich man as apart of the Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov will make sure his carrier pigeons do their job this time unlike the Nuggets deal or now the Magic deal. Also the Brooklyn will be a contender in the Atlantic division this season without Superman as D Will has Joe Johnson who if he is focus can be a beast and Gerald Wallace who is a monster on D and that ugly step son Brook Lopez (who has been traded to almost eveyone under the sun will be back for the time being) as he signed a 4 year/60 million dollar deal and don't forget Kris Humphries who had a break out season last year.
This Brook Lopez signing is absolutely crazy as there were reports in the media today that both the Charlotte Bobcats and the Portland Trailblazers who just got tried of waiting around to see which team would end up with Lopez said that they would both sign him to a max deal and just destroy any deal as a player who have had their offer sheet matched by their current team can not be trade again for a certain amount of time.

Minnesota Wild get both Parise and Suter
Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher had his father's Doug Gilmour trade moment as he went out and went head first into the free agent pool as they grabbed both Ryan Suter and Zach Parise with 13 year / 98 million dollar deals. This a very good deal for the Wild and for Parise and Suter because the Wild play the same kind of D first hockey the Ryan Suter did in Nashville and Parise did in New Jersey and unlike other high free agents in the past who have signed their huge contracts and then were asked to do something different then they were used to and did not fit into the system and have their contract become a massive headache.
The most interesting thing about this deal is that the Detroit Red Wings who wanted both of them especially Ryan Suter who was supposed to replacing Nicklas Lidstrom and ended up not getting neither of them.
Zach Parise has been a solid player for the Devils as he played at least 80 games in 6 of 7 seasons and has at least 60 points in the last 5 of 6 seasons after his rookie season. Ryan Suter has played at least 70 games in all of his 7 seasons with the Nashville Predator and has found his grove in his last 4 seasons and has put up between 37 and 46 points a season.
The Wild are the new player in the mix in the NHL

Oilers sign a popular D-man, Canucks replace Salo, and Flames burned again
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers snagged a very highly thought after defenceman Justin Schultz who had 28 of the 30 NHL teams trying to sign the College player to a contract. He played 121 games over the last three seasons with the University of Wisconsin and scored 40 goals and 73 assists with 113 points and is the hope for the Oilers getting a defenseman that make that lead pass to the forwards and maybe help put up more team goals and victories. The Oilers have resigned Ryan Smyth for next season and hopefully to bring some more leadership in the Oilers locker room.
Vancouver Canucks
Canucks replaced Sami Salo, who signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Lightening, with former Panthers defenceman Jason Garrison who had two and a half seasons seasons with the Panthers and had 59 points in 189 games. The Canucks signed him to a 6 year/27.6 million dollars and the Canucks who signed Cory Schneider to a 3 year/12 million dollar deal and are looking like they are still trying to trade away Roberto Luongo.
Calgary Flames
Calgary Flames once again have gone and burned themselves again by signing a defenceman for big bucks as they signed Dennis Wideman to a 5 year/26.25 million dollars. He hopefully not be the next Dion Phaneuf (6 years/39 millions) or JAY BOUWMEESTER (5 years/33.4 million dollars) who after signing their deals became shells of themselves from what they were before signing those contract as Phaneuf did not last very much longer in Calgary as he was traded to Toronto within a year and a half while BOUWMEESTER point totals have gone down since joining the Flames.
More free agents to sign

Canadiens get tougher, Leafs are still quiet while Senators have a hit and miss day
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens got tougher by resigning Travis Moen and signing former Brandon Prust who is a 28 year old who not afraid of going into the corners and if someone messes with the Canadiens smaller players like BRIAN GIONTA and DAVID DESHARNAIS who are 5'7 when the new norm in the NHL is over 6 foot he will not be afraid to drop the gloves as he had 20 fighting majors last season. The best thing for the Canadiens is addition from subtraction with Scott Gomez being bought out any day now and they have brought in Colby Armstrong and maybe with the Canadiens or the bulldogs like goaltender Cédrick Desjardins will be doing next season.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators made a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets but was not Rick Nash but instead it was Marc Methot native coming home in exchange for Nick Foligno as defensive defenceman to replace Flip Kuba who is headed to Florida and joining the Panthers. While former 25 goal scorer Guillaume Latendresse winger from Minnesota signed an one year deal to replace Matt Carkner who is heading to the island while also signing defense man Mike Lundin from the wild to fill out their roster. GM Brain Murray says it will be a quiet week in the Nation Capital and that neither Rick Nash or Zach Praise will not becoming are way and will just build on last season success signing Eric Karlsson to a 7 year/45.5 deal and hoping he can take if game to that next level.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Leafs signed Jay McClement to a 2 year/ 3 million dollars who was a penalty killer and logged the most penalty killing minutes with Colorado and will hopefully help the dreadful leaf penalty killing and probably the fourth line center. They were also paying attention to the Calder cup as they signed Calder cup winning defense man Mike Kostka who is likely staying in the AHL with the Marlies on an one year deal. Even though they did little to nothing on day one the big fish are still out there with Zach Praise, Ryan Suter, and Martin Brodeur still on the marker but really not a player yet for any of team it looks like while the likes of Roberto Luongo and Bobby Ryan out there for the right price while Jonas Gustavsson is now a dead thing.
Winnipeg Jets
ALEXEI PONIKAROVSKY is the newest Jets who if focused will be able to create trouble in front of the opposing goalie but he can be a little hit and miss and when he does not he is likely invisible on the ice. They lose forward Tanner Glass to the Penguins and backup goalie Chris Mason to Nashville Predators but has signed Ondrej Pavelec to a 5 year/19.5 million dollars and not done yet with lots of cap space.
