Sean Payton has a few juicy options going into next season
It is looking like NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has more problems with the Saints and this time it is something about the contract extension that Sean Payton signed over a year ago and would keep Payton in New Orleans til the end of 2016.
So if the Saints and Payton do not fix the contract that they sent the league for approval then Payton will come out of his year long suspension by the league as a free agent.
With is in mind there are three huge options for Payton and will become a very rich head coach and if he plays his cards right he might get more than that and this is what might happen:
Option No. 1 - is staying in New Orleans and continuing to coach Drew Brees and the Saint talented offense and get them back on the right track on defense and bringing a second Lombardi Trophy to the city.
Option No. 2 - Would be heading to Dallas and coaching the Dallas Cowboys who are in the toilet this season with a 3-5 record and a quarterback in Tony Romo who can throw 4 INTs in a game and the Cowboys are still in the game. Then there is Jerry Jones who has not been in a Super Bowl in 17 seasons as they last won it in 1995 season and he might get Desperate and go all out in the off-season and give Payton huge money and huge responsibility of being both the Head Coach along with control of all talent related decisions as the General Manager of the Cowboys. It would be a very easy move for Jerry to do as he right now is actually the General Manager of his own team.
Option No. 3 - If the Cowboys are mess than the Jets are living in a pigsty as their head coach Rex Ryan has lost the team completely even though they are also 3 and 5 right now but it is the quarterbacking Controversy between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow along little to no running game with Shonn Greene with 509 yards on the ground through the first half of the season. Jets owner is as crazy as Jones in Dallas and like the spotlight as much and Rex Ryan days in the big apple look to be numbered and owner Woody Johnson might try and out spend both the Cowboys and Saints for Payton.
If it does not get fixed by the end of the season and it goes into the off-season I would not be surprised if he goes to Dallas to coach and be the GM of the Cowboys
