It maybe a gong show for the last 20 games of the season

The Leafs had a horrible 4 game home stand where they were behind by two goals early in all four games and only picked up a single point on the stand and it has been four seasons where the team has been not close to a playoff spot. The closest the Leafs got to the playoffs since '04 is when they came a point away from making the playoffs in the 06-07 which was a season before Ron Wilson arrived and it is time for someone down at the ACC needs to take responsibility for the team's failure and it is long overdue for a coaching charge and it should be Dallas Eakins but I do believe that Wilson will last the rest of the season because Burke will be unwilling to fire Wilson until the off season and that is when Wilson will be let go if the Leafs do not make the playoffs.

It is a smack in the face to all Leaf fans because the Florida Panthers who went out into the free agent market because they needed to reach the salary cap floor and are right in the playoff hunt and then there is the former Atlanta Thasers now the Winnipeg Jets have learned how to come out and win on home ice and they are not as talented as the Leafs and are struggling to win on the road but the Leafs do not show up at the ACC. Finally there is the Ottawa Senators who were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league but right now are a point behind the Boston Bruins who are leading the division and their Brian (Murry) has gone out and made good on a tough deal to make with Danny Heatley and got back a scorer in Milan MICHALEK and then made two trades swooping players like getting KYLE TURRIS for David Rundblad and second round pick in this years draft along with trading Brian Elliot for Craig Anderson. To make thing worse JEAN-SEBASTIEN GIGUERE who was one of the Leafs goalies last season and is now one of the Colorado Avalanche goalies and who has played 29 games and Brian Elliot left Colorado after the season A.K.A. they could of had Craig Anderson in their net.

Lets see if the Leafs will ever make the playoffs ever again

Trade deadline for the Canadian teams in the NHL

The Vancouver Canucks made two deals on the deadline

The Canucks got younger picking up Zack Kassian who is a right winger and had 26 points in 30 games with the Rochester Americans and 7 points in 27 games with the Buffalo Sabres and they also picked up Marc-Andre Gragnani who will be 25 years-old soon and has played 59 games for the Sabres over the last four season including 44 games and 12 points this season. They gave up Center Cody Hodgson and has been with the Canucks all season (63 games) and has 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points and is only just turned 22 and the Canucks also added defenseman Alex Sulzer to the deal and the 27-years-old who is with his fourth team in the past two seasons and has played a total of 74 games in the four seasons and has a total of 8 points.

The Canucks second trade was trading for Sami Pahlsson from the Blue Jackets who is a 34 year-old and he has played in the Stanley Cup Finals and won the Stanley Cup in '07 with the Anaheim Decks and gave up two fourth round picks.

Winnipeg Jets make a deal and a claim

Defenseman JOHNNY ODUYA who has 13 points with the Jets in 62 games this season and the Jets traded him to the Chicago Blackhawks and in-change for a second and third draft picks in 2013 while they also claimed defenseman Grant Clitsome off waivers from the Blue Jackets and the 26-year-old has played 93 games for the Blue Jackets.

Calgary Flames still do not know if they are a player or a dealer

The Flames who are one of the oldest teams in the NHL but also have a chance to make the playoffs so they stood pat in the end and only resigned Tim Jackman to a two year contract extension so they still do not believe in getting younger so soon they will hit rock bottom and have to strip the team apart to get better.

Ottawa Senators fill voids in their lineup for very little

Today the Sens added Matt Gilroy to their D-line and he was a plus 2 for a weak Lightening defense who have given up a league high 209 goals and has 17 points this season in 53 games and they sent the Lightening BRIAN LEE who has played parts of five seasons with the Senators and he is only 24 years old and played 167 games for the team.

They also traded for Goalie Ben Bishop yesterday for a second round draft in 2013 for insurance reasons after Craig Anderson cut himself in his kitchen a few days ago and Bishop is an insurance policy for AHL at least.

The Edmonton Oilers trade a D-man for a D-man

So the Oilers decided to trade TOM GILBERT to the Minnesota Wild for NICK SCHULTZ and was to get more experienced on the back end because even though they are both 29 SCHULTZ has played almost twice as many games (743 - 384) and it could help give some leadership to the back end which is right now inexperienced.

The Montreal Canadiens have no more Kostitsyn

The Canadiens traded Andrei Kostitsyn to Nashville who have decided to pickup Candiens for their playoff and to get the confidence of Shea Weber and Ryan Suter as they had already made a trade for Hal Gil last week. The Canadiens are given a couple of resources to their next GM as they now have three second round picks in 2013 while also picked up some toughness off the wire by claiming Brad Staubitz who will bring some size and toughness to the Canadiens who are try to get tougher to help the tough Habs players and his 432 penalty minutes in 196 NHL games will do something I do not know what.

The Leafs are sticking to their plan

Burke has all the confidence in James Reimer even if the fans do not and he says that he thinking about moving the Leafs trade deadline up 10 days just like their no movement freeze in December is 10 days before the rest of the league and this is because the trade deadline in Toronto is a zoo and its hard to do business. The Leafs trade of the day was sending Keith Aulie to the Lightening for a 20 year old named Carter Ashton who has been playing in the WHL so may get at some point NHL debut with the Leafs.

Really quiet

the 2012 NBA All-star game is not needed in the middle of the season

Regularly the NBA all-star game is simply a smooth fest for the NBA and their financial partners and it also allows fans to vote their player into the all-star game and it gives players who are not at the all-star game to kick it and recharge the batteries for the charge to the playoffs so it is a nice way to give back to the fans and it is the right thing to do.

Except for the 2012 all-star game which is planted in the middle of a 66 games in 4 month and in total 124 days from the beginning of the season (December 25) and the final day of the regular season (April 26) so the four days off between Friday February 24 and Tuesday February 28 which of been better used to spread out the regular season so that there would be less 3 games in 3 nights or 5 games in a week. This would put less wear and tar on the players so that players like Derek Rose of the Chicago Bulls missing 10 of the Bulls 35 games before the Break and a guy like Dwayne Wade missing 9 of the 34 games or Carmelo Anthony missing 10 of the Knicks first 35 games of the season or Andrea Bargnani playing only 13 of the Raptors 33 games this season or a player like Joe Johnson being taken out of the Atlanta Hanks lineup.

It would not be surprising with the lack of non-playing days that a young star could have their future in the NBA be cut down at the knees with a serious career ending injury because of playing so many games in such a short window or maybe it could be a NBA poster boy who the league markets having their career because of this season.

All this does not mean that the all-star game gets cancelled but instead gets moved to the end of the season and have it be one of the days off between finals games and yes it would mean that players playing could not be apart of it but a lot of stars would take a two day break from relaxing on a beach to head to Walt Disney World to be apart of the pickup game known as the All-star game and the ratings would not be worst than the all-star game tonight will do and maybe even better.

It's time for the Toronto Maple Leafs make the deal for Rick Nash

A player like Rick Nash is not the kind of player that is in the open very much for example Steven Stamkos will not be leaving Tampa Bay anytime soon or a John Tavares will be only leaving the Island if or when the Islanders do while CLAUDE GIROUX is trapped in Philly for life.

The Leafs have made only one massive trade to get grade A talent in the last 17 years and that is the trade for Phil Kessel and that cost them a player like Tyler Sequin and in the long run it looks like both teams have won the deal and yes Brian Burke did try his hardest to get the Sundin twins who they were free agents a couple seasons ago. A guy like Rick Nash is a risk especially when U think that a package heading to Columbus beginnings with Jake Gardiner and includes likes of either Nasim Kadir or Luke schenn and may include another first round draft pick but if Nash can handle the pressure of T.O. then it will be a solid trade long term.

The question about Rick Nash is would he come to T.O. because he does have a no trade clause to go with his 7.8 million dollar price tag for the next 6 seasons for a 27-year-old center who has since his rookie season in 2002-03 has had at least 27 goals a goals and 6 of the 7 seasons he has scored over 30 goals including a 41 goal season in 2003-04 and a 40 goal season in 2008-09 and 40. He has had 66 points in the last four seasons with a high of 79 points in 2008-09 as he has scored and setup teams in those for seasons and has a .91 points a game ratio in the last four season and if he joins T.O. he will be able to play with more talented players like Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. His numbers will be better because Phil and Lupul will be able to finish off his passes and put them in the back of the net and playing with other play makers should bring his game to the next level.

So Mike Komisarek contract may need to buried in the minors like Jeff Fingers 4 mil has been for the last few seasons and there is a buyout in Tim Connolly 4.75 cap hit for next season and even with the buyout the two contracts at least equals the Nash cap hit. Then the Leafs will need find room for MIKHAIL GRABOVSKI if they can afford him because he maybe the big ticket free agent goal scorer and may be a little more than his 3.1 price tag for this season for a player who scored 29 last season and is on pace for 28 this season and he had 58 points last season and is on pace for more this season as he is on pace for 60 points.

It is time for the Leafs to make a huge splash in the free agent market by making the deal for Nash which hopeful gets them into the playoffs and make their future brighter

Elimination Chamber setup WrestleMania nicely

So the Raw elimination chamber started the night off and was over 35 minutes of distraction and during the match the final wrestler into the ring was Jerico and he was thrown out of the actual chamber and was not pinned to be eliminated as the doctor said he could not continue in the match. CM Punk retained his belt by pinning the Miz and it was Jerico who eliminated 3 guys but before he could not continue in the match so tomorrow it will be setup that because Jerico was not pinned of submitted he will get a title shot at WrestleMania 28.

The Main event was the ambulance match between Kane and John Cena and Kane gave Cena everything he had and dragged his butt up the ramp to the ambulance and throw him in and closed the first door and almost closed the second door but superman Cena escaped and took Kane to the top of the Ambulance and gave him an AA off the ambulance the floor and fisherman carried him into the ambulance and closed the doors. So the transformation is complete as Cena has embraced the hate because normally Cena would not do a move like that not even in an ambulance match.

They kept Tamina Snuka strong by her controlling the majority of the match and went to the top rope three times for the Snuka splash and Beth was up the first two times and third Tamina hit the splash but Beth had her legs up to cushion the blow and kicked out at two and then Tamina ran at Beth in the corner and Beth moved out of the way and hit the middle turnbuckle and Beth immediately picked her up ready for the Glam Slam and pinned her. So Beth and Tamina may have a rematch at WrestleMania and Tamina will win her first title at the same event that Snuka made his name by flying off the top of the cage but if it is not Tamina then it will be Karma.

They had segments of Santino like Mean Gene getting ready for his match with Bobby Henhan and later did the spot from Rocky where he is punching meat and it was a medium size and he finally used the cobra on it.

In the Smackdown chamber it was Show and Barrett to start and Bryant was the last in the ring and Big Show broke into his chamber from above the chamber and beat up Bryant until the door opened and Bryant ran away but it was Santino pinned a couple wrestlers and he attacked by Cody Roades after he pinned him and it came down to Bryant and Santino and Bryant kept the title. So if they are staying with Shaq coming in and wrestling Big Show than He will come in as Bryant's bodyguard mostly in tomorrow and if not than the next week and Santino will face Roades for the intercontinental title at wrestlemania.

Johnny Ace came out as well and said that Teddy Long should have his job as Smackdown GM looked at as well and Henry, Christian, Alberto Del Rio all came down to the ring and agreed with him and with David Otunga in the ring and they had photo shoot with Otunga taken it and the crowd chanted for trips but he did not come out. Later at the last minute Teddy gave Jack Swagger a title match against Kofi Kingston and it was a squash match for Swagger but it was another strike against Teddy so maybe there will be a match involving the GM at Mania either one on one or a tag match with like Ryder and Long Vs Johnny Ace and Otunga.

It was a good setup for whats to come in 6 weeks

Bob Whipper Watson is going to be the only Rock player to wear #29

Bob Whipper Watson who played 13 seasons for the Toronto Rock will have his No. 29 retired this Friday (February 24th, 2012) when the Rock face the Rochester Nighthawks @ 7 but the retirement ceremony will begin @ 6:45. This is a great idea to retire the No. 29 for the only goalie for the Rock in their first 13 seasons in the NLL and backstopped the franchise to six championship and got two Championship game MVPs to with the 2001 Goalie of the year award he received and it will be a special night and the ACC will hopefully filled to the rafters and it is a great was to honor players as a franchise.

I believe that he will not be the only number retired by the Rock because when it comes time for Colin Doyle to set of into the sunset (which is hopefully a long time into the future) his No.7 should be put up there with Watson but the reality is that a No. should be retired by now and that is the No. 32 of Jim "Scoop" Veltman who of been retired already and it is a shame that it is not. The reason that he is not honored is that he he was dismissed as a Rock assistant coach in the 2009 regular season as the whole coaching staff was dismissed midway through the season as it was another ill fated season and Rock owner Jamie Dawick should send Veltmen an olive branch by given a donation to Veltmen's Spirit of the stick charity that helps spread the passion of lacrosse to the world.

In the end Friday will be a great event with lots of people

What is A.J. Burnett thinking

So earlier this week A.J. refused a trade to the California Angels of Anaheim who will be in the heat of a playoff race every game against the Texas Rangers with Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson in his corner not to mention Ervin Santana and Jared Wavier and instead going to the Pittsburgh Pirates are looking for their first winning season since 1992.

It looks like A.J. Burnett who is a 50/50 pitcher and has a career record of 121-111 thankful one great season with the Blue Jays as he went 18-11 and it was good for the Blue Jays as opted out of his final two seasons of his Blue Jays contract to get a bigger contract with the Yankees is getting ready for retirement and a quiet baseball town like Pittsburgh will not have any national media attention compared to the Angels where every game he pitches will be under a microscope. So A.J. Burnett can go to the Pirates and finish his career with a 18-18 record in his final two season and take all that money from the Yankees and Blue Jays and run into the sunset or he could have a mystery injury and his career could end sometime this next season but it is very unlikely he puts everything together and is unstoppable and gets another massive contract from someone.

In the end it is a great deal for the Yankees as they got two prospects from the Pirates in right-handed reliever Diego Moreno and outfielder Exicardo Cayones and yes they are paying 18.1 million dollars of the remainder of A.J.'s contract but it will be addition from subtraction as he has been known as a not very clubhouse guy going back all the way back to his time with Marlins when he was sent home before he became a FA the first time. While the Pirates will be paying him 13 over the next two seasons and hoping he brings the fans out to see him pitch and praying that he can still put it altogether and help them win more than loss and maybe get into a playoff race with the likes of the Reds.

Have fun with all your money A.J.

Wrestlemania 29 is headed to New York / New Jersey

The WWE sent shock waves through the world today that instead of waiting another year to head back to New York they are heading back for WrestleMania 29 and instead of going back to where it all began Madison Square Garden instead they will be heading to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey where the Giants and Jets play football on April 7th, 2113. The stadium holds over 82,000 seats and with the record attendances being over 93,000 it maybe hard to get like 11,000 floor seats to break the record and it will be very interesting on a Sunday April morning to see how the weather holds up as it cold rain or snow on that day and there is no roof on the stadium I guess put a very large tent up over the ring so it does not effect the matches but that may also extremely limit the view of the fans in the upper deck. At the press conference the Rock was there so he may be a part of the event wrestling someone and I do not know who if it is not a rematch with Cena which may not go over very well except the Main event will be huge as it is most likely the Undertaker Vs Brock Lesner and it will be massive as they have legit beefs with each other.

The surprise comes after a few month ago DX main members of trips and HBK had a reunion after Smackdown cameras went off and they talked about bringing WrestleMania to the new Cowboys stadium which holds 100,000 seats and even more with floor seats which would easily set a new WrestleMania attendances record. It would be very alluring to Stone Cold Steve Austin who is a Texas native and believes he still could do a WrestleMania match and the most likely guy for him to wrestle is CM Punk and I really do not know if a WrestleMania is as alluring in New York/New Jersey for the rattlesnake and after Brock I do not know who the Undertaker wrestle so it would be a perfect backdrop for his final match and put him into the Hall of Fame.

Maybe they will put the 30th Mania in Dallas and set the record and have Austin wrestlw one last time and to put the dead man into the Hall of Fame instead of MSG but my thinking is that it is backwards thinking even though the WWE can not mess this thing up so it will work either way.

45 days til WrestleMania 28 as Rock and Cena go one on one

Jeremy Lin helping everybody on and off the court

Jeremy Lin who has started the last 5 games as the starting point guard for the Knicks and they have won their last 5 games and Lin has averaged 24.8 points and 8 assists with 4.2 boards. Lin had 28 points, 7 assists, and 4 boards against the Lakers this past Friday and he has saved Mike D'Antoni as the team was 8 and 15 before Lin got into the starting lineup and he is also mending fences with the MSG Network and Time Warner Cable who has taken MSG of their service and with all the Jeremy Lin stuff going on the customers of Time Warner Cable are vivid over being able to watch the Knicks games.

He has mobs of fans in the stands with China flags in New York and now he is heading to Toronto and will be greeted with a lot of fans getting into the building just to see him play and in Toronto right now a game against the Knicks might bring 12 to 13 thousand and tomorrow night it will be standing room only for the 19,800 seat Air Canada Center and there will over 20 thousand fans in the stands to cheer on Lin.

Lin was a simple 10-day tryout which usually means thanks for coming here's your seat on the bench and U may get 5 minutes on the court but in the next month U will be back ABL and now people in New York are not waiting Barion Davis to get health so he could try to feed the ball to Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire. Now the question is will Carmelo and Stoudemire fit the system of moving the ball around looking for the best shot and it looks like that question will be partially answered tomorrow when Stoudemire comes back in the lineup after going home for a while to deal with the passing of his brother in a car accident and the good thing for Knicks fans is that Stoudemire worked well with another D'Antoni system in Phoenix with a some what good point guard named Steve Nash (future hofer). Stoudemire worked off the pick n' roll with Nash and put up massive numbers and could do it again but it will be the ball hog Carelmo who when he comes back that may stop the ball from moving and take shots instead of finding the open man to get the basket and the Knicks may once again fall out of the playoff picture and D'Antoni may not be safe again.

So for now Lin is a sensation in a market that will eat up every word he says and will be paid nicely soon for his accomplishments

Mas Sundin honored by the Toronto Maple Leafs

It was a good ceremony with a highlight package to a violin version of U2's with or without you and the crowd gave him a warm greeting but because of the time crunch everything went very quickly and CBC cut away as soon as Mats was done speaking so the standing O was not very long. Mats misses playing hockey and the Toronto fans and has setup a connection between the U OF T and a hospital back home in Sweden and instead of Brian Giota taking the faceoff for the ceremony faceoff it was Tomas Kaberle against Dion Phaneuf.

So also shows the lack of success of one of the most recognizable Hockey teams in the world as he was traded for Sylvain Lefebvre and Wendel Clark and it happened after the Leafs had gone to back-to-back conference finals and were hoping that Mats could help the Leafs get over the hump after he had two straight 100 point seasons. It did not work as it three seasons and a lot of changes and they got back to the conference finals and lost to the Buffalo Sabres without a secondary scorer as Douggy had moved on and then three seasons later they fell flat in the Conference final with the Carolina Hurricanes in game 6 in a 2-1 overtime loss and have not been even close since then.

Mats had 987 points (459 goals and 518 assists) in 981 games in 13 seasons with the Leafs and was the leading scorer for the Leafs for 8 straight seasons until Alexander Mogilny had more points in 2002-03 season

Quebec City is ready for the NHL but is the NHL ready for Quebec City

Quebec City is ready for the NHL to comeback for the first time since the Nordiques went to Colorado and became the Avalanche after the 1994-95 season and the City and the Province have both dug deep into their pockets and each found 200 million dollars for the new arena in Quebec City for the next NHL team to call Quebec City home. The shovel has not come close to getting into the ground as the politicians are still figuring out how much it will take to environmental friendly clean the land that the new arena will be built on and if a team needs to relocated after this season they will still be ready for them @ Colisée Pepsi which seems to need a little fixing up where the Quebec City Remparts play right now.

They are already putting pieces in place as Quebecor which is an all-sport station in Quebec has already started to find announcers for the team which will be airing on Quebecor to go up against the Montreal Canadiens on french tsn (RDS) and it looks like the reason why Patrick Roy (the head coach of the Remparts) did not get the job as the Canadiens' head coach because he is waiting for the Nordiques to comeback to become the next head coach.

The NHL I believe want to keep the american teams in the US and with the Coyotes they would like to keep them in Phoenix and if they can not do that they would rather be the only Seattle winter sport's team as the first NHL or NBA team back in Seattle will do very well but with both the NBA will be the Seattle choice for sports.

Quebec City will get a team but it might take a while for a team to come to town

chad ochocinco will be a dark horse for SuperBowl MVP

Chad ochocinco has been activated and is likely to play a few plays as the third receiver so remember he is a talented wide receiver.

chad ochocinco who has 15 catches and 276 yards receiving this season will be the guy on a weaker defender as Wes Welker, Rob Gostkowski, and Aaron Hernandez will be the mark men on the field and will be the players who will get the Giants better defenders on them and Welker may be double covered. So like a wise man has said "Big Players make big plays in big games" and ochocinco who had 736 catches and 10,007 yards before this season with the Cincinnati Bengals and this is the biggest stage that he has ever been on and he has had big games before. He till has the opportunity to have today in what might be the last game in his 11 season career and he will want to go out on top like very few have ever had the chance to do and if he puts up a big game then maybe another team might offering him a contract next season because it is unlikely he will be back with the Patriots but he a model citizen this season and did not have his usual outburst before or after games.

He could have two or three big plays as he may broke away from some Giants and if so he could get that SuperBowl MVP

Shaq is wrestling @ WrestleMania 28 in Miami Florida

Shaq after retiring from the NBA he continues working with TNT and their Thursday night NBA most likely double header and now he is training to do something he has always wished he could do and that is to wrestle and because it is Shaq it will not be a simply everyday wrestling match and instead it will take place @ the grandest stage of all WrestleMania. It will take place in Miami where he won a NBA championship as apart of the Miami Heat and he will be in with the largest athlete in the world the Big Show and by WrestleMania Big Show is likely to turn heel and it will probably happen when Show and Shaq get into the ring on Monday Night in the next couple of week.

This will be one of most interest night of matches with Rock/Cena, Taker/trips, Punk/Y2J, Shamus/Bryant, and now Show/Shaq

Drew Doughty scored a game-winning goal as the clock froze

Drew Doughty @ home scored a game winning goal with fourth tenth of a second left in the game and they won 3-2 against the Columbus Blue Jackets and it should of not counted because the clock got stuck on 1.8 seconds left and it stayed there for a .6 or .7 second and the game would of been into overtime as the regulation ended with the puck under Curtis Sanford. Colin Campbell, the NHL’s senior vice president of hockey operations said of the clock stoppage "In our opinion it was one full second".

The reality is that home teams usually get a friendly clock and the league should of immediately phoned in and had the ref review the clock as to see if the goal would of still counted and the league could of done this because they are watching every game from the headquarters in NYC every night and as soon as they watched the clock stop they should of been on the phone. The extra point will not help the Columbus but the extra point is very important for the LA Kings as they are 6 points in front of No. 9 Dallas Stars but the Kings should of need to earn that extra point in overtime.

In the NBA it is common place for clock freezes and they now review any last second baskets at either the end of the quarter, half, or even the game and this practice should become common place because how many goals are scored with less than a second on the clock and the answer is little to none and the league should make sure they do not make the same mistake again.

The league will make changes
