Bob Whipper Watson is going to be the only Rock player to wear #29

Bob Whipper Watson who played 13 seasons for the Toronto Rock will have his No. 29 retired this Friday (February 24th, 2012) when the Rock face the Rochester Nighthawks @ 7 but the retirement ceremony will begin @ 6:45. This is a great idea to retire the No. 29 for the only goalie for the Rock in their first 13 seasons in the NLL and backstopped the franchise to six championship and got two Championship game MVPs to with the 2001 Goalie of the year award he received and it will be a special night and the ACC will hopefully filled to the rafters and it is a great was to honor players as a franchise.

I believe that he will not be the only number retired by the Rock because when it comes time for Colin Doyle to set of into the sunset (which is hopefully a long time into the future) his No.7 should be put up there with Watson but the reality is that a No. should be retired by now and that is the No. 32 of Jim "Scoop" Veltman who of been retired already and it is a shame that it is not. The reason that he is not honored is that he he was dismissed as a Rock assistant coach in the 2009 regular season as the whole coaching staff was dismissed midway through the season as it was another ill fated season and Rock owner Jamie Dawick should send Veltmen an olive branch by given a donation to Veltmen's Spirit of the stick charity that helps spread the passion of lacrosse to the world.

In the end Friday will be a great event with lots of people
