Stormin' Norman Rumack back on the fan in March

March 1 & 2 the Fan 590 has actually got a job for Stormin' Norman Rumack a.k.a. the late night vampire and that is going down to the Toronto metro convention centre and do live hits on the radio during most likely the Jeff Blaire show and Tim & Sid. He will be promoting the Golf and Travel show for the Fan as he tries to get listeners come to the fan 590 booth to most likely fill out a ballot to win a golf trip to Florida or something. Stormin' put this on his twitter account and it will be his first time on-air since the cut backs on the overnight shift a.k.a there is no overnight shift since they decided to with the cheaper CBS sports product. This will probably end in April with the Jays season starting and them being a hot product they will bring back the local overnight guys including Stormin' and if baseball is not enough then having the playoffs in basketball and hockey and how knows it might involve a Toronto team in one or both sports which would make the playoffs more exciting for local fans. That is it for now Tom Mehegan

Jack Swagger and his Americans has a title shot @ Wrestlemania

Jack Swagger won the Chamber match which they were renaming the belly of the beast and the match started with Daniel Bryant and Y2J and nothing really happened until Mark Henry got in the ring as the final guy into ring and he eliminated both members of Hell No and put Randy Orton through a chamber door. Then Y2J an Sagger teamed up to get Mark Henry down but it was not until Swagger kicked him into a code breaker that sent him into a RKO to eliminate Henry and Randy eliminated Y2J but Swagger immediately finished off Orton. He will be facing Alberto Del Rio at Mania as he finished off Big Show with his third arm bar off the match which was set up by a distraction from Rodriguez with Del Rio's bucket snd Del Rio tries to kick the bucket into his head and missed the first time but got him the second time which lead into the winning arm bar. The guy who will win the Smackdown title @ Mania Dolph Zigggler did not have a match scheduled but came down to the ring to say he was going to win the title at Mania but Broker T had different plans and had Kofi Kingston come to the ring and have a match with Ziggler. The match was to set up Big E and Kofi as Kofi did the springboard clothline through the ropes and hit Big E and later hit him with a cross body and after Ziggler won the match Big E came into the ring and beat up Kofi. In other storylines Cena and Shamus were singled out and both had their time being man handled by the Shield and when Ryback got into the ring he cleared it and the match finished with Roman Rayns speared Shamus into Lillian who was in the wrong spot and did not get hurt and then Rayns went into the ring and speared Ryback who was ready to put another Shield member inhis finishing move and he landed on Ryback for the pin. Cena will be facing Roxck as he pinned Punk in the main event of the night and they will be the main event at Mania. Also Kaitlyn beat Tamina as Tamina went to the top rope to do the Snuka splash and missed and Kaitlyn speared her for the victory while Antino Cesaro kept his title as Miz low blowed him and Miz was DQ'd. The WWE pumped up the volume to make it fell like a strong crowd but it was not Tom Mehegan

Avalanche treating O'Reilly like he works at Wal-Mart

Colorado Avalanche are owned by Kroenke Sports Enterprises which is run by Enos Stanley Kroenke and his wife's father who is Bud Walton who is a co-owner of wal-mart and now Kroenke is low balling Ryan O'Reilly like he a wal-mart employee. So coming into the strike shorten season there were three high profiled restricted free agents in the NHL who were O'Reilly along with Dallas Stars Jamie Benn and the Montreal Canadiens P.K. Suban and O'Reilly is the only one left out in the cold without a contract. It is so bad between O'Reilly and the Avalanche organization that a quarter of a season (12 games) of the shorten season (48 games) they still can not figure out a long term deal like Jamie Benn (5 year and 26.25 Mil) or a short term fix like P.K. Suban reached with the Canadiens (2 year and 5.75 mil) so that he is a step closer to free agency. So if other teams want to talk trade with the Avalanche is are looking for the moon, the stars, and even a couple of planets as they are looking for two players that can play now along with a prospect and the cherry on top is a first round draft pick. If someone wants to make a contract offer to O'Reilly they can put if that happens the Avalanche would most likely match and retain O'Reilly and if they decided to not match the contract they would most likely receive two or three draft in exchange for O'Reilly. O'Reilly who had a break out season last year for the Avalanche in his third full season with the team and he doubled his point totals from 26 points in both of the 2009-10 season and the 2010-2011 season to then put up 55 points in the 2011-12 season. The Avalanche are looking for a 3.5 mil a year cap hit either in a 5 year and 17.5 mil or 2 years and 7 mil a season and according to O'Reilly who was making 4 mil in the KHL during the lockout wants at least that if not more like Jets' Evander Kane and Bruins' David Krejci money which is just more than 5 mil a season but Kane has steadily improved and ended last season with 30 goals while Krejci has over 50 points a season over the past 4 seasons and pushing 60 points a season. In the end Colorado and O'Reilly really need to meet somewhere in the middle at maybe something like a two year deal in the 7.5-8 mil range which would get him three years away from free agency and it would allow O'Reilly takes his game to another level and cash-in in a couple of years and the last single O'Reilly needs os to lose a season and be that further away from free agancy. both sides are standing their ground and do not want to meet in the middle Tom Mehegan

tsn radio is ready to head to TV

So it has only taken 23 months to get their TV cameras ready for Mike Richards who does the morning show for the very uninteresting TSN radio 1050 Toronto who have been kicked around by Rogers sportnet radio 590, the fan for 23 month. So starting on family day February 18, 2013 they will be putting together a hour program with Richards on TSN 2 from 7-8 in the morning and that would be 5 in the morning where he was an actual star in Calgary over two years ago. He will probably do some of his radio bits that worked in Calgary but as of yet not caught the eye radio listeners in Toronto and the only one hour program and the time slot will not help them as it looks like a half ass effort once again for TSN radio who have acted like we put are selves on the radio and people will listen and when has not happened they simply gave up. They have moved around their other programs with Bob MACKOWYCz being moved from side-kick of the drive home show and now will have his own show from 9-12 replacing Dan Patrick or Scott MacArthur depending on what is going in the sports world. Bob Jr has been around the Toronto Media for 20 years and made his name as the producer of Off the Record on the TV side and he will be breaking down what happened last night and look forward to what to expect in the day's action of the sports world. The new drive home show is hosted by the Globe n' Mail's Dave Naylor who will have his final hour of his 4-7 program on TSN 2 as well and will continue what James Cycalski started by talking with the people of interest in the sports world on the day's events. So it looks like Cybalski will be heading back to TV with reporting for sportscentre and he did a great job at the beginning but fell off after a while and TSN is hoping that Naylor can give Bob McCown a run for his money at the fan and Sportsnet on TV from 4-7. TSN will need to take themselves seriously and keep trying to get better and maybe nibble a little of Sportsnet Radio rating and make it a battle but that can only take themselves seriously Tom Mehegan

Joe Flacco Superbowl MVP and soon a very rich man

The Ravens offense took control of the game on their opening drive when Joe Flacco hooked up with Anquan Boldin on a 13-yard TD and followed it up with Dennis Pitta and finished it off with a back pedaling catch by Jacoby Jones on a 3 and 10 from the Ravens 44 yard line and he caught it inside the Niners 10 yard line and fell back to the turf and got up and ran it into the end zone. The Superbowl MVP was 16 of 20 in the first half and put up three TDs and No INTs to tie Joe Montana for the most TD in a post season without an INT at 11 which Montana did it at Superbowl 23 against the Bengals and now free agent Joe Flacco will be paid very very well. On the other hand the Niners in the first half had the ball twice inside the green zone a.k.a. the opponents 10-yard line and left with two field goals and trailed 21-6 before Beyonce and Destiny's child reunited at halftime which would short the power after using most of the power at put on the show. The power went out just over a minute into the second half but not before the Ravens went up 28-6 on Jacoby Jones 108 record setting TD kickoff return to open the second half and when the lights were out it took 35 minutes to get everything back to normal and John Harbough the Ravens head coach lost it on a NFL official who told him hoe the game was going to be restarted. Joe Flacco was off the field for 85 minute before his TD pass to Jones and his first snap of the second half and he was rusty and not as good as the first half and only drove the Ravens offense for two field goals. While Colin Kaepernick started to run rough shot over the Ravens D as the Niners scored on four of their first 5 drives of the second half and he had a shot of tying the game at 31 with a two-point conversion 3 minutes into the fourth quarter and he over throw everyone. Micheal Crabtree had a number of chances in the end zone and only ended up scoring on a 31 yard pass and his last chance was with just less than two minutes left in the game when he was mugged in the back of the end zone on a fourth and goal at the 5 yard line and it was called an incomplete pass which gave Jim Harbough Niners coach his meltdown of the game. At the end it is the the end of Ray Lewis as he takes his deer antler spray into retirement and in five years the hall of fame as a two time superbowl champ Tom Mehegan
