A-Rod's replacement is on fire
A-Rod (Alex Rodriquez) of the New York Yankees was 2 for 16 and has not picked up a RBI in the four of five games AL divisional playoff series with the wild card Baltimore Orioles and has not picked a RBI since September 19TH. He been k'd 9 times by O's pitchers and has been booed mercilessly by the Yankees fans over the two games he played at the new Yankees Stadium.
Wednesday night in game 3 Joe Girardi made the gutsiest call a Yankees managers has had to do in a long time by saying to A-Rod that he did not believe that with one out and down by a run A-Rod would not be to simply get on base. Instead he brought Raul Ibanez off the bench for the highest paid player in major league history and had an at bat in the ninth and homered to tie the game at 2 and then won it in the 12TH with another solo homer 3-2.
Then after losing game 4 2-1 in 13 Joe Girardi decided in a winner takes all game that A-Rod would be nowhere near the field as he put Raul Ibanez in the lineup again for him and he came up with a RBI single to put the Yankees in flight 1-0 in the sixth inning on their way to a 3-1 victory behind C C Sabathia complete game.
Now heading into the AL Championship series against the as powerful Yankees the Tigers of Detroit it would not be surprising if A-Rod stays invisible that Girardi goes to his bench for Ibanez. A-Rod hook seems to becoming much shorter and maybe humbled even more and may soon find his way out of town and the Yanks will be picking up the contract so this maybe A-Rod final chance to prove himself worth of the pin stripes.
It will be a good series
