NFL - the collapses of the Cowboys, Eagles, Cardinals, and Bills were interesting to watch

Detroit Lions who came back from a 20 point deficit last week and this week with 10 minutes left they were down 27-3 and then Tony Romo started throwing TD passes to Lions defenders as he thow a pass to former Cowboy defender Bobby Carpenter who took the ball back 34 yards for 6 points and on the next drive Romo through a TD pass to Lion defender Chris Houston took it to the house by running the ball back 56 yards to make it 27-17. On the next drive Lion defender Ndamukong Suh gave the Cowboys 3 points by receiving a roughing the passer penalty on an incomplete pass on a third down so Dallas would of been punting but instead Tony Romo completed a 37 yard pass to Jason Witten. To start the fourth quarter Matt Stafford who grow up in Dallas throw a 23 yard TD pass into the back of the end zone and it was 30-27 and on the next throw from Romo through his third interception of the second half with 4:13 left in the game and with 1:39 left Chris Johnson took in his third catch of the drive and caught a 2 yard TD pass to give the Lions a 34-30 victory and give the Cowboys their worse collapse in team history.

The Niners were down to the Eagles 23-3 with 9:30 left in the third quarter and could not stop Michael Vick who throw for 416 yards with two TDs and an INT to with 75 yards on the ground as well but they fought back in the second half with 21 unanswered points to win 24-23. Alex Smith completed a 44 yard pass to Kendall Hunter which set up a 30 yard TD pass to Josh Morgan for the niners for TD and before the end of the third quarter Alex Smith went deep for 38 yards to Michael Crabtree and after a Kendall Hunter 12 yard run and Alex Smith throw a short pass and Bruce Miller took it for an 15 yard advance to put them in position for an Alex Smith a 9 yard TD pass to Vernon Davis for the second TD of the half. Then in the fourth quarter Frank Gore ran for 25 yards with just less than 6 minutes and after a 15 yard face mask call on Brian Rolle of the Eagles which setup a Kendall Hunter 14 yard run which was followed by a 12 yard run by Frank Gore to score the third TD of the half and gave the niners the victory and a 3 and 1 record. Alex Smith put up 291 yards on 21 of 33 and had two TDs and Frank Gore ran 15 times for 127 yards.

The Giants came back against the Cardinals and it was not easy as they were down 27-17 with just less than 4 minutes left and Eli Manning completed a 2 yard pass to Jake Ballard and then the play that everyone will be talking about happened when Victor Cruz had a 29 yard catch and run and went down without being touched and left the ball on the ground and because he did not try to advance the ball the play was called dead and the Giants kept the ball. The Giants then went down the field and on the next play Hakeem Nicks caught a 29 yard TD pass to take the game 31-27 as the Cardinals could not put anything together to try and win the game and Eli ended up with 27 of 40 for 321 with two TDs.

The Cincinnati Bengals gave the Bills a taste of their own medicine as the Bills had come into the game with an amazing second half performance in all of their first three games of the season and outscored their opponents 80 to 24. The Bills took a 17-3 lead into the second half as the Bengals put up the first 10 points of the third quarter as they put up a 7 play and 78 yard drive to open the second half and got a field goal and on their next drive the Bengals went 7 plays and 72 yards and ended with a 17 yard TD catch to Jermaine Gresham from Andy Dalton. Then the Bills took the ball for over 9 minutes and 17 plays but ended with just a field goal and it would cost them as Andy Dalton finished off a 10 play and 80 yard drive with a 3 yard TD run to tie the game and with less then two minutes left the Bengals went down the field and on the last play of the game way a game winning field goal of 43 yards by Mike Nugent to win the game 23-20. It was the first win by the Bengals over the Bills since they beat them in the 1988 AFC Championship game to go on to face the Niners in the superbowl and it was 10 game losing streak and Andy Dilton put up 298 yards on 18 of 36 with a TD.

The Texans beat the Steelers on a 42 yard Arian Foster where Troy Polamalu was kicking himself for not making the tackle and Foster ran all the way to give the Texans the victory 17-10 and came after the Steelers controlled the ball for over 12 minutes and erase a Texans 10-0 lead at half and tied it up. It was not all good news for the Texans as their All-Pro receiver Andre Johnson who injured his right hamstring but the 155 yards on the ground from Adrian Foster so enough to power the Texans past the Steelers in a statement game.

First quarter of the season is finished and the bye weeks are around the corner
