Daniel Nestor is the greatest Canadian Tennis Player of all-time

Daniel Nestor was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia on September 4th,1972 and now lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and he was honored with the order of Canada in December, 2010.

Daniel Nestor has been a great doubles player and started his pro career on July 29, 1991 and he is a left-hander and his doubles record is 795-304 with 72 titles and most of the time he teamed with Mark Knowles of the Bahamas and they have won a 3 grand slam together as they won the Australian Open (2002), US Open (2004), and French Open (2007). They had 40 career titles together and he also has teamed with Nenad Zimonjić and they have won 24 doubles titles including winning the Wimbledon in both 2008 and 2009 along with French Open in 2010 and the Wimbledon Open in 2008 gave Nestor the career grand slam.

On October 2Nd, 2000 Daniel Nestor and Sébastien Lareau won the Olympic gold medal in Sydney, Australia beating the Woodbridge brothers from New Zealand and Daniel Nestor has been huge on the hard court circuit as he has won 42 of his 72 doubles on the hard court surface and has been ranked No.1 in doubles.

His singles appearance is a far cry to his doubles ability as he is 85-118 record and the height of his singles career was in 1999 on the heels of a 3 round finish @ the Australian Open and a sweet sixteen finish @ Wimbledon and was ranked 58 just before going into the US open. He has decided to not play singles and instead play only doubles later in his pro career which has been very good for his success.

Happy Birthday Rosie,
