So tonight Canada learned that it is OK to lie (yes it is OK to buy 36 billion dollars worth of fighter jets and said it was only 9 billion dollars) and that Canada wants lots of tax cuts and the great American health care service of health care only if your rich and/or privileged. Thats only the start for Conservative majority as it would not surprise me at all if Stephen Harper gets rid of the paper trail and go electrical for elections and the people in the USA can tell you all about how great and honest that kind of system has been for them in the past. The Conservatives have not been in full power yet but already they have taken fishing away from fishing communities as they have allowed the big rig fishing boats from offshore to take up to 5000 tons of fish down east and even in their own backyard they are allowing oil companies in Alberta where a first nation community lives and of course off the land and the moose meat they are eaten has 453 times the acceptable level of arsenic along with some parts of Northern Alberta have surge in higher levels of cancer. This is because of what is called "tar sands" that is one of the worst Greenhouse Gas polluters in the world and the 3 deposits of Tar sands are located in North Alberta and covers a larger landmass than England and hold proven oil reserves amounting to 175,000,000,000 barrels. The Conservatives are willing to look the other way while this goes on and gives huge tax breaks to companies that based in the tar sand business.
The thing is that if they are willing to do this to parts of their own home base as the Conservatives power is mostly based in Alberta along with Saskatchewan what will they be willing to do to the rest of Canada as the last Conservative government in Ontario poisoned water and killed Innocent people in WALKERTON and it was just for a quick buck.
The sadist part is that only 39.7% of the people who voted wanted the Conservatives in power and it all came down to one person which was the Conservatives biggest selling point who was Michael Ignatieff the leader of the Liberal party who they put at the end of their commercials with his comment "American is as much your country, as it is my country" and he lost his own seat to a Conservative by 2500 votes. It is sad that the liberal and the NDP could not get together and puts their votes together and take down the Conservatives but it did not happen and over the next 4 years Canada will be getting a face change and not to the better and it is nice that the NDP got 103 of the 308 seats in the federal election and the Liberals will have 4 years to come up with a better leader than Michael Ignatieff because the NDP may not be able to take down the Conservatives by themselves.
