Chara does something he has not done before, The Habs go night night, Blake Griffin had an amazing game, and the biggest royal rumble ever!

Zdeno Chara got his first ever hat trick in the NHL as the Boston Bruins beat up on the Carolina Hurricanes 7-0 @ the TD gardens which was the first game of a home and home series as Zdeno Chara knocked Cam Ward out of the game with his first goal in the first period. Then he had his second goal on the power play also in the first period and his third goal which was his second power play goal to make it 7-0 in the third period. The Hurricanes started Cam Ward who let 2 goals in the 5 shots he faced in the 11:28 he was in the net and then Justin Peters gave up 5 goals on 33 shots in the remainder of the game while Paul Maurice must of felt he was back behind the Maple Leafs bench but it was also a great game for Tim Thomas who got his seventh shutout which now leads the league in shutouts.

The Habs were up 4-0 @ 6:36 in the second period and then they went to sleep as the Flames came back and scored 4 straight goals sending the game into overtime where one of the most unimpressive players on the Habs this year P.K. Subban who scored his fourth goal of the season. Miikka Kiprusoff was not very good in the game as he gave up 4 goals on 17 shots and was pulled after the fourth game while Henrik Karlsson stopped 11 of 12 shots he faced and only gave up the overtime winner. While for the Habs Alex Auld started the game and he was pulled 2:56 into the third period when Alex Tanguay scored to make it 4-all and then Carey Price was brought in and saved all of the 4 shots he faced to get the win.

Blake Griffin had an amazing game last night as he scored 47 points and 14 rebounds which was his 27 consecutive double-double and if he keeps this up he will be the hands down winner of the rookie of the year while he will also be exciting the fans @ the NBA all-star game during the slam dunk competition. He is also making it exciting to watch the LA Clippers which have been a horrible team year after year with a couple exceptions to the rule and may fight for a playoff position which has been few and far between.

The WWE has changed it's format for the main event of the royal rumble as the battle royal will have 40 wrestlers instead of 30 wrestlers in hope to gain more pay-per-view pays for their first big pay day of the year as the pay-per-view #'s have been way down over the last year or so. The idea is interesting to have 10 extra guys in the rumble when there is clearly no real hands down winner going into the match as it might be like a triple h or a John Cena or maybe like a guy like Shamus or maybe even John Morrison but all in all there are a lot more candidates to win it this year than really any other year. This will be very important as Wrestlemania is around the corner and need something to grab the fans attention other than the Undertakers streak as he may or may not be ready for the big dance.

Have a great night
