Canada has 2 major media empires and they are Bell media and Rogers media and they both own the phone and they both own a number of TV stations along with Rogers already owning a sports radio station and now it looks like Bell will get into the Toronto sports radio scene as it looks like they are going to change the formats of one of their am radio stations into a sports station. The main attraction in this battle looks like Bob Mccown who is under contract to the fan 590 which is a rogers radio station and his show called "prime-time sport" broadcasted on Rogers sportsnet and sirus radio 97 so it is very excisable across and with his contract almost up Bell and their soon to be sports radio station wanting Mccown to be their center piece and having their sports TV station of TSN it will be a bidding war like nothing else. To get their pieces in place for the battle Rogers has brought in sports writer Damon Cox formerly of the Toronto Star to be the side-kick Mccown in hopes he will stay with Rogers Media while Mike Richards a radio host Calgary who has like owned the morning drive in Calgary for years is being brought on by Bell Media for like TSN radio which promped Rogers to put sportsnet radio in front of their fan radio stations like the fan 590 in Toronto and the fan 960 in Calgary so this whole thing will get very interesting as both companies are stacking their lineup so sportsnet announcers only will be put on Rogers station and TSN announcers will only go on the TSN radio when it launches. If it is anything like their smear campaigns on each or what phone to get and what kind of TV to get as Bell has satlelight TV and Rogers is cable TV in most of Canada.
Lets see what happens
