contravery at the end of the Washington Vs North Carolina game
It started when Venoy Overton for Washington throw up the ball from with 2 seconds left in the game which did not make the basket and John Henson of North Carolina was unable to hold on to the ball under the basket before it out of bounds. This is were the contravery lies the clock stopped with .5 second left in the game but on replay it clearly showed the ball landed out of bounds with between 1.1 and 1.2 second left which would of given Washington Huskies .6 or .7 second more on the clock to try to hit the tying 3 ball. We do not know if the ref would have put .6 or .7 second back on the clock because the ref did not take a look at the replay to see if the clock was correct which is completely amazing to me because in these kind of situations the ref always looks at the replay even on clear decisions at least for quick second so that they made the correct call. Like how many times have you seen a game winning goal in NHL playoffs reviewed or the last play of a NFL game review to make sure that the play was correctly so the only thing I can think of is that with all the noise in the arena as it was like a North Carolina home game that they were unable to think because it was to noisy. Another question was the head of the NCAA basketball officials as he must of been watching and should of been able to phone down to official scoring table and had it looked at. So the end result is that the Huskies had half the time to get a 3 ball and in the scramble at the end of the game the ball in Isaiah Thomas Jr (yes the former Detroit piston's son) and he heaved up the ball that was not going to reach the rim and if it had been strong enough to reach the rim North Carolina would of been call for goaltending as a Tar Heel player caught the ball before it was able to reach the rim but in the end it would of not mattered because Isaiah Thomas Jr toe was on the 3 point line so they would of still lost by 1 point.
Coach K wins his 900Th win in his coaching career
Coach K won his 900Th game as a head coach in NCAA basketball which is the 2 behind Bob Knight which means if Coach K gets his Blue Devils to the final 4 in this season's March Madness he will be tied and if they get to the Championship game he will become the coach with the most wins in NCAA Basketball history. It looked like it was going to be a easy victory for the Tar Heels as they were up 58-43 with 10:51 left in the game but like most NCAA March Madness games it usually not over until the scoreboard hits triple zero as the three headed Huskies of Tim Hardaway Jr (yes son of that Tim Hardaway), Jordan Morgan, and Darius Morris as they had a 28-15 run to end the game and had the ball at the end of the game to tie or win the game but instead Coach K's Blue Devils won to give him that 900Th NCAA Basketball division 1 win.
Ohio State saw Gus Johnson and remembered what that means
George Mason came out on fire as they took a 11-2 run to open the game @ the 16:23 point of the first half but then Ohio State players looked over at the CBS desk where they saw Gus Johnson sitting calling the game and they remembered that Gus Johnson only does the real exciting games i.e. the No. 1 overall seed being taken down by the 8 seed George Mason and decided to not let this happen. So they came alive and outscored George Mason 50-15 in the last 16:23 of the first half and they continued putting the pedal to the metal in the second half as they outscored George Mason 46-40 in the second half so that the factor of Gus Johnson announcing the game and him usually calling the craziest games was an non-factor
All in a day of the Madness
