Thursday Nighter, The Leafs, and 24/7

Thursday Nighter - Niners Vs Chargers

From the unwanted files to the welcome back status comes Vincent Jackson, a widereceiver for the Chargers who held out half the season and then the team put a 3 game suspendion on him which meant he got back on the football feild a couple of weeks a go and last night he went off pulling in 3 TDs for the Chargers. Jackson had 112 yards receiving while the Niners as a offense could only mustar up 192 all game in getting beat down by the Chargers 34-7 while Phillip Rivers (19 of 25 for 273 years) was got the job done and the Chargers are now 8-6 and if the Chiefs lose on Sunday the Chargers will have a share of first in the AFC West.

The Leafs gave up 3 goals to the Calgary Flames in 57 seconds near the end of the second period to make it 4-1 on their way to a 5-2 victory and Jean-Sebastien Giguere gave up goals to Alex Tanguay, Olli Jokinen, and Rene Bourque and was taking out after 40 minutes. This performance by the Leafs almost wipes out the great game they had aganist the Oilers 4-1 a couple of nights before and passed the Oilers in the standings but last night the Oilers had a win to pass the Leafs in the standings again.

Bruce Boudreau had a lot saltery lanuage and stole the spot light from the players with a rant in a second period intermission where he used the F word like 15 times in 80 seconds and I hope the players are able to show their personalities like Maxim Talibot (Penquins) and Alex Ovechkin (Capitals) who have great personalities

Thanks

Tom Mehegan
