cfl rule changes r seriously garbage

so in 2026 the cfl will not have a kicker kick the ball through the end zone for a rouge to win the game it will have to keep the ball in the field of play. Also in 2026 they will be also changing the play clock from 20 seconds with the clock starting when the ball is placed on the turf to immediately blowing in a 35 seconds after the last play ends. Also they will have a team on opposite sidelines instead of both teams on the same sideline.

So to start giving a team their own sideline will create faster substitutions which creates faster gameplay as the players can be directly across from the line of scrimmage.

So the bad is the idea of a kicker  misses a field goal or punts into the end zone and the returning team just leaves the ball alone hoping it bounces out of play for no point. the change of the play clock will change the last 3 minutes which can have lots of plays and lots of action because u go from very little time coming of clock between plays to quite a bit of time coming off the clock placing the ball and moving the 10 yard chains.

now the worst changes are coming in 2027 with the 55 yard line going away and going to have midfield being at the 50 yard line like in America. Also making the end zones 15 yards deep instead of 20 yards and finally the goal posts to the back of he end zone instead of the front of the end zone.

The one thing they are not changing is the width of the field staying 65 yards which will still allow the more wide open game which is good.

The changing the Canadian dimensions for the American dimensions could hurt the fans in the prairies and Alberta which is the heart beat of the cfl as these may not want to go to games just maybe. The smaller end zone could create more misses not staying in the field of play which creates less exciting kick returns. I do not know if u have to kick the ball 15 yards further meaning if the ball is on the 30 yard line that means the kicker needs to the ball 45 yards for a good field goal which is double the american version as the goal posts are 7 yards inside the end zone.

The league wants to make the games more watchable for the Canadians who only watch the American version but they are not going to gain the fans who like the American version and could loss some of the fans who like the Canadian version with the changes.

Fans in BC, Quebec, and Ottawa will support only competitive or winning teams and in Toronto yu can not draw an audience because they want the American version in town so what the point.

Have a good day
